Mixed media birthday card

Hi there crafty friends and welcome!
Today I'd like to share a very colorful card that
uses papers I created with dye inks.

The inspiration for this was this card that Amber Rain Davis created.
(Thank you, Amber!) While she used watercolors on her version, I
created a bunch of panels using Magenta Nuance powder dyes and water.
All the flower and leaf parts were die cut from these once dry.
I splattered black acrylic paint onto the card base, and once it was dry,
adhered the flowers and leaves. I heat embossed the sentiment
and used the coordinating die to cut it out.

Another sentiment finishes the inside:

I absolutely love how this turned out! So bright and colorful! 😊
That's all for today. I appreciate you visiting.
I hope that you have a wonderful day!

Happy Cake Day

 Hello and welcome!
I created this cute shaker card using
the just about to end Freshly Made Sketch #620,
but I was experiencing problems with downloading pictures
from my camera to my computer. By the time my husband
was able to figure out what was wrong, (he's my IT Guy), the
challenge ended. Grrrr! Oh well.
Anyway, here it is:

These wee gnomes are just the cutest! This little guy
is colored with Spectrum Noir markers. I haven't made a
shaker card in ages. This was a lot of fun to put together. 😊

I need to get into the habit of creating cards when the challenge
opens, and not at the last minute, like I usually do. LOL!
Anyway, thanks for visiting. I hope you have a great day!

Grab your party hat!

Hi there. I'm back with another post
today to share this fun card:

I've had this party hat die for years, and I can't remember if I've
ever used it before. (Oh the shame!)
I cut it from that rainbow striped paper and a couple more
from white card stock, then stacked and glued them together.
I found a bit of multicolored polka dot paper from another company
that matched the colors rather well, so that was die cut
with the scalloped oval die. A simple sentiment finishes the front,
and another sentiment was added on the inside:

I'm slowly adding to my depleted birthday card stash. 😊
That's it for this post. Thanks for popping by!
Have a great day!

Joy to you

 Hello and welcome crafty friends!
It's a foggy, rainy day here so I thought
it was a good day to craft away the day. LOL!
Here's a card I'd like to share:

This is a mix of old and new items. My 'new stuff' is the
Joy stamp and die set. I filled it in with Prismacolor pencils.
Pretty much everything else I've used is at least 5 years or more old.
That paper and the holly sticker are both from 2010!

Here's the inside:

Yay, another Christmas card in the books!
(only a gazillion more to go!)

Thanks for visiting. I hope you have better weather than I do!
Have a great day!

Snow days are the best days

 Welcome and happy Friday!
I thought I'd show some love to some
older products.
I dived deep into my stash and
came up with this card:

These cute snowmen are from a set called 'Chill Out' by
The Alley Way Stamps. I'm not sure how old they are
but the little digging I did on the Google showed these
are approximately from 2013. These were colored and
fussy cut. The background paper is the last snippet I had
from this collection from My Mind's Eye called Colorful Christmas.
I couldn't find much about it, it's that old. I'd say this
is at least 10 years old, probably older. 😉 The
sentiment is from a Penny Black set from 2021.

These snowmen are just too cute!

That's all for now. Thank you for visiting.
I hope you have a great rest of your day!

Wrapping it up

 Hello friends and welcome!
I have another card to share that
incorporates left over wrapping paper!

The penguin images on the wrapping paper are fairly large,
so I made my card a 5" x 7" to fit it.
I love that it basically does all the work. All I had to
do was give it a white mat and add a stamped sentiment!

Here's the finished inside:

I was hoping that Jingle Belles were going to have a
wrapping paper challenge, so I saved this bit
from when I was gift wrapping in December. 😊
Thanks for visiting! I hope that you have a wonderful day!

Yeti or not, it's your birthday....

 Hello and welcome, crafty friends!
I created this card and was able to combine
a few challenges with it:

It's been a while since I've used this cute Yeti, so out he came.
The sketch I used was great for using up a bunch of little
bits of scraps. I used two embossing folders: the snowflakes on the
background and another snowfall embossing folder on the dotted paper.

Here's the finished inside:

Punny on the outside, funny on the inside! LOL!
That's it for now. I appreciate that you visited.
Have a great rest of your day!

Elegant Birthday

Hello crafty friends and happy Sunday.
I got some craft time in yesterday and
created this fun card:

I used a few different glitter papers to create the strips in the
background. The leaves were also die cut from glittery white
cardstock, but it's very hard to see it. In real life this
card sparkles!

Here is the finished inside:

I was originally going to use white cardstock, but I'm
glad I went with the black instead. It gives it a
much more dramatic look! 😊

That's it for now. Thank you very much for stopping by!
Have a great rest of your day.

SISTERHOOD OF SNARKY STAMPERS #246 - N is for New

(Edna in Barbie packaging! Sister Lee is brilliant!)

Hello and Happy New Year snarky peeps!
Can you believe that this is our 10th year at the
We'd like to thank everyone who has supported us by playing
along all these years!
You will notice that our format has changed this year from every two
weeks to once a month. That gives you more time to join in the fun!
Also, we have a new Sister! Please welcome
Deena! You may recognize her from Shopping Our Stash
and also a designer for the Ink Road Stamps.
Welcome aboard Deena!

For our first challenge of 2024, we want you to use something new
on your projects. Maybe you received some new crafty goodies
over the holidays. Or perhaps you have something brand
spanking new in your crafty stash that you've yet to use.
Well, now's your chance!

I took advantage of one (*cough, or four, cough*), crafty sales
over the holidays and purchased this 'Sign of the Times'
die from My Favorite Things. In my usual demented way,
I used it in a very unwholesome way:

I sent this to my sister, Laura.
Believe it or not, this is our term of endearment between
my sisters and myself! 😂
I couldn't send a card to one sister and not the other, so...

This one went to my sister Sandy. Like me, the word
fuck is widely used in her vocabulary. 😆

After I took these pictures, I thought that the cards were missing
something, so I added a bit of shading on the hands/arms, and added hearts. LOL!

So much more meaningful with the hearts!

I hope that you'll join us in our NEW challenge at the

More Christmas cards part 3

 Hi again, it's me!
Here's the third batch of cards I made for December

To save time and my sanity, this time I chose a paper kit that included both
stickers and ephemera, instead of coloring a bazillion images.
Since the first two sets were cutesy, I went with a more
'grown up' look with this last set.

The blue paper was plain, so I did some creative stamping using a background
stamp. Of course, the stamp is smaller than 6" x 6", but luckily
it was made to repeat on all sides.
I was rather proud that I was able to line it up so well,
considering it's a red rubber stamp and not a clear stamp.

Here are some close ups:

There ya go. That's the last set!
Well, time to go and get dinner started.
Thank you for visiting! Have a great day!

Supplies: (some - too much to type!)
Stamps: Honey Bee - Home for the Holidays; Taylored Expressions - Branches and Blooms; Picket Fence Studios - Inside Quotes Christmas; Stampers Anonymous - Tiny Text Christmas; MFT - Christmas Wishes; Hero Arts - Merry Christmas Message
DP: Simple Stories - Hearth & Holiday
