JUST US GIRLS #511 - Photo Week

It's time for the next challenge at JUST US GIRLS!
Bobby is your hostess for Photo Week and she's chosen this
gorgeous picture as your inspiration!
Here's my take on it:

and the inside:

The main panel was created with a leaf stencil and various colors of
Distress Inks. I searched my stash and found the pumpkin and rosette stickers
which went perfectly with the theme. A stamped sentiment and a couple
more stickers finish the inside.

I want to thank all the ladies at Just Us Girls for letting me
guest design with you this month! I had such a blast!
Hugs to you all!

STAMPlorations 6th Birthday Celebration!

Hello friends and welcome!
We are on day five of the
Today I'm helping to showcase the Zen Doodled Birthday Gifts cover plate!
I'm also using the Celebrate Big word die  on my cards. Here's
the first one:

I die cut the cover plate from some festively colored DP and adhered onto
a black card base to make it pop. The word die was cut 3 times in the purple, stacked and
glued together, and then I added Stardust Stickles over it. I die cut it again in
white card, and adhered it offset under the stacked sentiment.

For my second card, I die cut the cover plate in white card, and spritzed it with
some Dylusions sprays. This time I die cut the sentiment, cut off the 'big', and added
a stamped sentiment from the Smile stamp set.

I had the forethought to put some white card stock under the die cut cover plate
before spritzing, hoping to use it as a stencil. It worked! I was able
to use the negative on another card:

For this card, I simply added a sentiment sticker from the Happy Happy Clear Stickers set.
(I think this one is my favorite of the three cards!)

I hope that you'll participate in our birthday celebration. As always,
there will be prizes to be won! Please
visit the STAMPlorations blog for all the details.

SHOPPING OUR STASH #407 - Halloween!

Hi there and welcome crafty friends!
Today starts the new challenge at
Donna is your hostess this fortnight, and she's picked
HALLOWEEN as the challenge!
(my favorite holiday. YAY!)

Here's what I came up with:

and the inside:

The main panel uses a Stencil Girl birch tree stencil along with different
colors of Distress Inks. Before I removed the stencil, I splattered some watered
down white acrylic paint, then immediately washed the stencil.
While that dried, I colored and fussy cut the mummy dog, sentiment and bats.
I die cut the grass border to ground him and adhered everything with
foam adhesives. I stamped more images and another sentiment
for the inside from the same stamp set.

I hope that you'll join in the Halloween fun at Shopping Our Stash! We'd love
to see what you create. Need more ideas? Simply check out what fabulous
 projects my teammies made!
Thanks for visiting, have a great day!

The challenge is pretty simple: create a Halloween themed project using
the color pink predominately on it. Here's my card:

and the inside:

Creepy cute zombies? Yes please!

And, because I wanted to, I made another card:

here's the inside:

I've had this digi stamp for a few years and only got around to coloring it

Nuvo glitter drops for some sparkle.

Hello crafty friends and welcome back!
It's Color Week at JUST US GIRLS!
Look at these gorgeous colors to work with: PURPLE, NAVY, and GREEN!
I used my wreath builder template to create this pretty birthday card:

It's always a bonus when you find an ink pad that matches the card stock you want
to use as your base. LOL! The main panel was matted with navy card stock. I stamped
the sentiment, die cut it, and adhered with foam squares. I've added a tiny amount
of Nuvo glitter drops to the centers of the purple flowers for a bit of sparkle.

I hope that you find some time to play along in the color challenge at
Just Us Girls! For more gorgeous creations, do check out what the amazing

And now for another Christmas card...

Hi there and welcome!
It seems it's been ages since I've posted something that wasn't scheduled in advance.
Not today my friends. Not today.
and here's my take on it:

and the inside:

The image was stamped twice, on the main panel, then on a bit of scrap. The grass
was colored on main panel, the deer on the scrap. Then I fussy cut the deer, and adhered
it over top with foam squares for a bit of a 3D effect.

I love how this turned out. I might be crossed eyed from the fussy
cutting, but it was worth it. LOL!

We are finally getting some much needed rain here in my neck of the woods.
We've been in a drought since August, and everyone's
lawns are all brown. Hope this bit of overdue rain will help
bring it back for at least a little while. (Although the brown grass lends to
the cemetery I have in my front yard. LOL! Halloween!!)

That's it for now. Thanks for visiting, and I hope that you
have a great day!

JUST US GIRLS #509 Trend Week

Hello and welcome crafty peeps! It's the second week of my GD gig at
For Trend Week, we want to see you frame it!

I used a die from a new to me company on my card:

and the inside:

I've had this image colored for a while now, just waiting for the perfect time
to be used. That time was now. I die cut the scalloped frame twice from white CS, and
once from the pink polka dotted paper. Stacked and glued together.
I love how the pink really stands out from the pretty blue paper in the background!

Some Wink of Stella on the stars and ground, and some rhinestones added for
a bit more sparkle finishes my card!

SISTERHOOD OF SNARKY STAMPERS #145 - Z is for Zaphod Beeblebrox

Good morning and welcome back snarky peeps!
I'm hosting this fortnight at the
and we've gone all space-y! LOL!
Not everyone will understand the title of this theme, or
even the Edna graphic (fantabulous, BTW, Lee!).
But if you happen to be a Sci-Fi geek like many of
the Sisters, it pays homage to the book series and movie,
The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Universe by Douglas Adams.
But just because we've focused on this specific book/movie,
we wanted to make sure the challenge could be played by
the non Sci-Fi lovers. So, basically, we want to see anything
to do with space, a galaxy, aliens, or spaceships!

I knew exactly want I wanted to do for this challenge - an art journal page.
I've referenced the book/movie for my page.
Don't worry if you have no idea what this means. Just
enjoy the bizarreness that is Douglas Adams! LOL!

I'm not going to go into detail about the process, but here are a
few process pics. I'll add my materials list at the bottom
of this post as soon as I remember where I put it. *grin*

I hope that you will join us at the Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers and
play along with our space themed challenge! We'd love to see what
you create! For more inspiration, do check out what my Sistahs and
our reigning Queen, Lisa, have made for your viewing pleasure.
Thanks for popping by!

It's time for the October STAMPlorations Theme & Photo Prompt Challenge!

Hello crafty friends! Can you believe it's October now?!!
Where did the year go?!
The great news about it being October is that the new challenges start
up again at STAMPlorations!
Shery has done some reorganizing over the summer break, and the
theme and sketch challenge is now the
THEME & PHOTO PROMPT challenge. You can use the
theme, the photo, or both as your inspiration!
You can find all the details over on the main blog.

For my card, I've used the theme along with the photo prompt:

Stamping onto black card stock would probably be much easier using
Distress Oxides, but I haven't any of them. (I know, what am I waiting for. I still
don't have the complete set of the DI's yet. LOL!)
What I do have are the Color Box cat eye pigment inks. I started by inking
each flower from the Trendy Spring Blooms set, first in Frost White,
then in each of the three colors I chose. (When stamping onto dark card stock,
stamping first in white will let the colors show much better instead of
just disappearing into the dark card.) A stamping platform like a MISTI
will be your best friend when doing this! After I let the panel dry (using
my heat tool, because I'm impatient), I stamped the outline stamps
in versamark ink and heat embossed in gold.
I filled in some of the open space using the two tiny flowers from the
Faerie Door set. A simple sentiment from the Balloons and Banners set
was added onto the panel using foam squares.

Ready to play along? Of course you are! Plus, there are crafty goodies
to be had to some lucky winners. Woo Hoo!
Again, for all the details, please visit the STAMPlorations blog!
