SHOPPING OUR STASH #284 - Shape Up

Hello crafty friends and Happy New Year to you all!

It's time for the first challenge of 2017 at SHOPPING OUR STASH! For this week's prompt,
Shape Up, we challenge you to make a card or project using a shape other than a rectangle, circle, or square. It seems that since the holidays have passed, everyone is in Valentine mode....But not me. Here is what I came up with:

 Here is the inside:

I started by making three nesting templates of a coffin. I traced around a folded piece of black cardstock using the largest template, making sure the left side lined up along the fold, and fussy cut. I repeated the tracing and cutting for the smaller panels. On the orange front panel, I randomly stamped a couple stamps, inked and distressed the edges. The other three panels were inked and distressed too. I colored the creepy cool cat and fussy cut it as well. I then created a collage using stickers, ephemera, and sequins. A couple more stamps finish the inside.

(Love this creepy cat!)

I hope you find some time this week to play along with our Shape Up challenge at Shopping Our Stash! We'd love to see how you interpret this challenge! For even more inspiration, do yourself a favor and visit the blogs of my teammates, and leave them some bloggy lovin!

Thanks for visiting, and I hope you have a great day!

BOO!

Hello friends! I wanted to pop in here to share another Halloween card:

 here is the inside:

Most everything on this card is at least 3 years old. The stamp set I used (Hero Arts - Celebrate Everyday) is from 2012. The paper collection (Thrilling - by Authentique) is from 2013. I'm pretty sure all the stickers I used are at least 3 years old also! LOL! I actually have to go and MacGyver the bats, as they are so old, they're not sticking too well. HA!

That's all I have for now. Just a quick fly by in blogland! Thanks for visiting!

SISTERHOOD OF SNARKY STAMPERS #19 - H is for Hopeful Halloween

For my Just Us Girls post, click here.

How did Edna get my hat?!!!!

Hello crafty peeps! As you may know, October is an important month. It's Breast Cancer Awareness month. Also, Halloween, my favorite holiday, is at the end of the month. So the Sisters decided to combine both of these for a Hopeful Halloween challenge! (Never before attempted, I'm sure!) We would like you to make a Halloween card/project, OR a pink card/project for BCA, OR go all crazy-like and make a pink Halloween card/project!!! Your choice! Of course, I went the crazy-like route - check it:

Here is the inside:

I knew I was going to go with Glinda for my card. (A witch that rocks a fluffy pink sparkly gown? Oh yes!) The dress was a bit too orangey, so I went over it with pink Spectrum Noir markers. (still orangey, but not as bad now!) I distressed and inked the edges with antique linen DI, then dotted the dress, crown and staff with diamond Stickles. As I was looking at Authentique's Thrilling collection, it had a page of labels in it, and the Glenda's Witch's Brew was part of it. Score!! (I'm guessing they changed the 'i' to an 'e' for copyright reasons. Wink!) The paper was more of a stone color, so again I used my SN markers to age it, and also distressed the edges. I added some pink tulle and ribbon under the panels. That tulle started out as white, but I smeared Worn Lipstick DI over it, and blotted off the excess. Cutting a small strip with pinking shears, I gathered it up and stapled it to secure, then glued it on the main panel. I should have waited a while to do that, since the DI didn't dry. At all. And I wound up with blood red fingertips! LOL! The background papers I dug out of the scrap folders. I printed out the inside sentiment and finished the panel with a spider web punch. I based my design from the now ended DS #172

So, now it's your turn. Up for this challenge? Of course you are! Just link up your card/project at the Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers for a chance to be our next Queen of Snark or Princess! Be sure to check out what my teammates and our GD, Pamellia, created for your viewing pleasure!

Thanks for stopping by, now go get your craft on! ☺

It's not a bad thing....

Good morning! I've been MIA for a bit. I've been slowly cleaning and rearranging my craft room the last few days. (Too much stuff; not enough space!) Almost done but for a couple things to find places for. I did get to make a card last night. I'm entering this for Shopping Our Stash #124 and Simon Says Stamp - Halloween challenge:

Here is the inside:

Yeah, I know, I thought I was done with the Halloween cards, but there are still some great challenges out there, plus I really wanted to use this stamp! After stamping and coloring with Spectrum Noir markers, I went around the edges with Spiced Marmalade DI. I just love that sentiment, and how the stamp is made to look all distressed like that! :)

Thanks for stopping by! I hope you have a great rest of the weekend!

Drunken Stampers challenge #143: Thing - Die Cuts

Hello and good morning to you! Did you know the current challenge at Drunken Stampers is all about Die Cuts?!

Yepper! This is gonna be a huge challenge I predict! It's the Yellow Canaries turn this week to dazzle you with their creations, but you know I just had to play along! ☺

Here is the inside of the card:

I'm also going to enter this for the current CAS(E) this Sketch #47 challenge,

also for the Paper Smooches Sparks challenge - Anything Goes

and for the  Simon Says Stamp - Anything Goes challenge.

I love a simple design. I tend to gravitate toward CAS designs more than anything else. And since Halloween is upon us, I'm cranking out cards for that holiday. I used the Jumbo Squiggle Border Die-Namic from MFT in three different patterned papers. Check out that orange damask paper with the skull and cross bones! LOVE! I stamped, colored and fussy cut the cutie patootie monster (Don't have the outline die for him...yet!) and adhered him with foam squares. I also added some Glossy Accents to his eyes. I used some scrap of the die cut orange paper on the inside too. Stamped the sentiment to finish it off.

I hope you get a chance to play along with the Drunken Stampers Die Cut challenge! You have until Friday, October 4th, 11:59 pm PST to get your entry in! Have a great day and thanks for stopping by!

Craft on my friends!

You say Witch.....

Hello friends! I hope you are all enjoying your weekend, and Happy Labor Day weekend to my American and Canadian peeps! I'd like to share a card I made for the Simply Betty Stamps Facebook Fanpage August challenge, using the sketch from Mojo Monday #308.

Meet Mercedes the Witch:

Here is the inside:

and the sketch I based my card from. I made a round card! But I gave it a quarter turn to fit my needs:

Love Betty's images! Mercedes is a free digi! The only catch to get this is to join the fan page, and you have to use it for that challenge (Halloween colors for this challenge). Easy peasy! I'm still collecting Spectrum Noir marker sets, so this is another hybrid coloring, using SN and Marvy Uchida markers. Even more, I'm still trying to figure out how to color with the SN's. They react so differently from the MU's! Ugh! Well, I'll just keep coloring until I figure it out! ☺

Thanks for stopping by and I hope that you all have a great weekend! Craft on my friends!

Trick or Treat.../MojoMondays#306/Unity FWF

Hello and happy Friday! It's been so beautiful these last few days that I haven't really done much in the way of housework. (It's over rated anyway. Besides, it's not going anywhere!) But I have been enjoying sitting out on the deck and reading. When I'd take a break from that, I'd go to my craft cave and make awesome sh*t! For real. See?:

Anyone else get this sign from Unity? It spoke to me, so I had to get it! LOL! Some quick work with a picture frame hanger on the back and it's proudly hanging in my craft cave! Woo Hoo!

Anyhooo, my evil doublemint twin Jessi sent me some kick-ass goodies, one of them being these crocheted mats that she makes herself! Super cool, right?!! She is so talented! After a couple days of admiring them, I felt I needed to actually USE them! So here is what I came up with:

Here's the inside...

I based my card from the Mojo Mondays #306 sketch:

I'm also going to enter this for Unity Stamp's Friends With Flair. The jack-o-lantern was stamped, colored, fussy cut and adhered with foam squares. I die cut the banner then stamped trick or treat and that was adhered with foam squares as well. The spider sticker was clear, but I rubbed some powder on the back to get rid of the stickiness. It made it look like vellum, pretty cool! It's also adhered with a foam square.

Hey, if you like these crocheted mats, Jessi has them for sale on her blog: OneCraftyMama, in different sizes, shapes and colors! Go check it out! Thanks again Jessi! Love ya girl! MUAH!

Thanks for stopping by! Now go get your craft on! (or your drink on. It IS Friday, after all!) LOL!
