SHOPPING OUR STASH #198 - Texture Me

Hello peeps and happy Tuesday to you! We have a fun new challenge at SHOPPING OUR STASH! This week we challenge you to use your oldest embossing supply! Whether that be an embossing folder, or powder, or even a stylus and brass template, it's up to you. (See? Choices!) I grabbed one of my oldest embossing folders to create this card:

 and the inside:

I did more of a debossing on my background panel. I smeared an ink pad over the design, (not so*) carefully placed the panel inside the folder, and ran it through my Grand Calibur. I also went around the edges with the ink pad. I snipped a little bit of burlap and adhered. I rummaged around and found this pretty purple ribbon that I've had for at least 15 years. (*koff hoarder koff*) There are two rows of it layered on top of the burlap. Stamped the sentiment, adhered, then added the dimensional dragonfly sticker. Another sentiment and sticker finishes the inside.

So, ready to raid your stash for those neglected embossing folders or powders? Sure you are! We'd love to see your card or project linked up at Shopping Our Stash! Don't forget to check out what my teammies came up with to amaze and inspire you, and please leave them some bloggy love! Thanks for stopping by! Have a great day!

* the panel shifted a bit when I was putting it in the folder, but luckily I liked how it came out, so I used it)

SISTERHOOD OF SNARKY STAMPERS #32 - Q if for Quickie!

No, not that type of quickie! Get your head out of the gutter! I mean this kind of quickie:

That's right, the SISTERHOOD OF SNARKY STAMPERS challenge you to make a card in 10 minutes or less!!! GAH! This challenge was my cryptonite! It usually takes me at least two hours to make a card. My saving grace was that we are allowing you (and us!) to have everything pre-cut/stamped/colored/etc. before getting down to business. (Thank you baby Jesus for that small miracle!) So, here's what I came up with:

And the inside:

Too soon for Halloween cards? Nnnnaaaaahhhhhh!!! I timed myself, and it took me 8 minutes and 11 seconds to make this. I trim my own card bases, don't use pre-cut ones, so there's some time. Die cut the 'eyes'. Sticking down the letter alphas probably took the longest time. But there you have it, a snarky-artsy-fartsy ghost card! LOL!

But wait - there's more!

In cleaning up my craft room a bit, I re-discovered this fun pack of quotes, so I had to make another card with one of them:

 and the inside:

Love it when the paper does all the work for you! LOL! This one only took a little over 4 minutes to make! A personal best!!! Woot Woot!! Trimmed the card base, trimmed that perfectly snarky page, stamped the inside sentiment. (even masked off the question mark!) Done!

I hope you get a chance to play along with our quick challenge at the Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers! You know you want to, and hey, there's a crown at stake here! Please be sure to check out what my Sisters, and our newest Queen of Snark - Manuela - have created for your viewing pleasure! Thanks for hanging out, and I hope you have a fantastic day!

JUST US GIRLS #289 - Color Week!

Hello and happy Saturday to you! Lisa is hostess this week at JUST US GIRLS. It's Color Week and she's picked out a fun color combo for you to try out. Plus, you get to pick your 3rd color! I've gone with white/brown/pink:

Here's the inside:

My good friend and neighbor, Cathy, gifted me with some paper she found in her stash, and so I used some of it instead of hoarding it! LOL! I was cruising Pinterest a few days ago and found a card I wanted to case. (Sorry, I can't find it again! DOH! But if this design looks familiar, thank you for the inspiration!) The flower stamp was colored with brown and two different pink markers, spritzed with water and stamped onto my white panel. The pearls started out white, but I took a Spectrum Noir marker to them and colored them brown.

I hope you play along with this week's color challenge. Be sure to link up at Just Us Girls so we can see it! LOL! While there, please check out what my teammates and Kathy, our guest designer, have made and leave them some bloggy love! Remember, if you are picked as Chic of the Week for any of our April challenges, you'll be in the running to be our Guest Designer for the month of June! Have a great day!

SHOPPING OUR STASH #197 Lost and Found

Hello and good morning crafty peeps! It's time for a new challenge at SHOPPING OUR STASH! What do we mean Lost and Found? We'd like you to use something that you've re-discovered. Perhaps you put some crafty stuff away in a 'safe place' two years ago and only just found it again. Maybe in searching for something else, you came across a stamp set you forgot you owned. Well - use it! Here's what I came up with:

 Here's the inside:

In a previous post, I was searching (for a couple hours) for some acetate that I recently purchased. While riffling through drawers and boxes, I came across an unopened package of gold pipe cleaners and re-discovered my Epiphany Crafts shape studio tool. Ok. That'll do. I can make bugs with them. The pipe cleaners were too gold, so I took my Staz On jet black ink pad and went over them to darken them up. Even though it's much darker, I like how you can still see the gold. I used the shape studio for the bodies, and after coloring some googly eyes with an orange marker, adhered them to the bodies.

I hope you get the chance to play along with the Lost and Found challenge at Shopping Our Stash. Please be sure to check out the awesome creations my teammies came up with and leave them some bloggy love! Thanks for stopping by and I hope you have a great day!

JUST US GIRLS #288 - Trend Week!

Good morning crafty peeps and welcome to a new challenge at JUST US GIRLS! It's Trend Week and Sue is your Hostess this time around. She's picked a fabby trend - a shaker card!! I've never made one before but I've been itching to try it out. Here's what I came up with:

 Here's the inside:

I was kind of flipping out because I just recently purchased a pack of heat resistant acetate, with making shaker cards in mind, and put the package in a safe place....then I couldn't find it! GAH!! I finally found where I stashed it about two hours later. Geesh! I did some Pinterest stalking and decided a simple card to start with would be a good thing. I came across this card and went with it. There's even pins about how to construct a shaker card, so double bonus for me! (I need all the help I can get! LOL!)

I hope you step out of your comfort zone and try your hand at a shaker card. Be sure to link it up at Just Us Girls so we can marvel over it! While there, please check out what my teammates and our April guest designer, Kathy Schweinfurth, have created for your viewing pleasure. Remember that if you are picked as Chic of the Week for any of the April challenges, you'll be in the running for our Guest Designer for the month of June! Have a great day!

This week we are collaborating with the talented ladies at Words 2 Scrap By, where they give you word prompts to inspire you by! Very cool! This month, their challenge is The Earth Has Music. Here's how I interpreted this:

 and the inside:

SISTERHOOD OF SNARKY STAMPERS #31 - J is for Just Kidding

Good morning all! It's time for a new challenge at the SISTERHOOD OF SNARKY STAMPERS! This go around, we'd like you to get Edna to laugh and make a funny card! (Just look at her face - good luck with that!) Here's my card:

 and the inside:

Of course the snarky punch line is on the inside - that's how I roll! (and don't we all do this? I mean, who has time to clean the house when you want to make cards?! LOL!)

The sentiments are actually one stamp, but I did some masking to get the punch line on the inside. Easy peasy lemon squeezy. So now it's your turn to make a funny card. We'd love to see it, so please link it up at the Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers. Do make sure to visit my Sisters and leave them some bloggy love! Thanks and have a great day!
