Hello crafty peeps! I'm popping in with my mid month reminder
I went with just the theme again for my card, and I also
totally cased this card by Shery!

I started by cutting a panel from the Crazy Double Running Stitch Rectangle Nesting dies.
Using one of the flower images from the Brave One stamp set, I
stamped it around the left side and bottom of the panel using Versamark
ink, then clear heat embossed. Using Tumble Glass and Shaded Lilac Distress ink, I
blended over the flowers and faded out the color nearer the center of the panel.
The With Sympathy was die cut three times, stacked and glued together before
adding it to the panel. Finally, I stamped a few of the butterfly images from the same set.

You still have plenty of time to enter your project at STAMPlorations
Theme & Photo Prompt Challenge! We'd love to see what you
create with it. For more ideas, do please check out what my

Don't like making them, but we do need them...

 ...Sympathy cards, that is.

Hello crafty friends, and welcome.

I have a pretty (I think), card to share:

Here's the inside:

Tried out a new to me stencil, the Christmas Wreaths
by Sanna Lippert Designs, using a gray and a red ink.
Over the berries, I used two different shades of red glitter glue.
(of course, it's impossible to see with my crack photography skillz.)

I die cut three times, stacked and glued the With Sympathy
word die together and adhered on the inside of the wreath.

Pretty simple design, but I love how it looks.

Easy water coloring...

Hey there, it's a two-fer Monday posting!
Earlier last week, I watched this video by Bonnie and was inspired
to try my hand at water coloring again.
I used a hydrangea stamp from a set that I've had for at least
five years. I've never used this flower from the set before so
I challenged myself to use it.
I had the added task of making a mask for the hydrangea as the leaves
are a separate stamp. Other than that, I pretty much followed
along with Bonnie's tutorial, and Holy Crow, it worked!!

Here's the inside:

I have Marvy LePlume II markers (it's been so long using these
that many are dried out. I haz a sad.) In hindsight, I should have
used the medium green to stamp the leaves. I used the lightest color and
the details disappeared when I colored them, so I restamped them
with the medium green after it was dry. I used a scrap of black card stock
and die cut a rectangle matte that has a pierced border around it. I just
snipped both the long sides and adhered to the back side of the main
panel, then trimmed before adhering to my card base. If you enlarge the photo,
you may be able to see the detail. (crossing fingers)
A simple stamped sentiment and this card was finished.

Well, that's it for today. The laundry isn't going to wash itself and
the maid hasn't showed up. Wait, I'm the maid. Sigh...

Have a great day and thanks for visiting!

A tribute for Melissa Lane

Good morning crafty friends.
Today, the design team at STAMPlorations is paying tribute
to one of our own, Melissa Lane, of Honey Bee Lane who passed away
on October 2nd. She was an incredibly talented mixed media artist,
card maker, gardener, and follower of Jesus.
Admittedly, I didn't know her too well, and am sorry that I won't have
the chance to. She had one of the biggest hearts and I will
miss seeing her amazing creations.
She loved butterflies, rainbows, and the color red was her favorite.

Here is the card I made:

If you would like to help in celebrating her life,
we welcome you to create a butterfly card in her memory, and link it up
on this post at STAMPlorations.

Sending continued prayers and comforting thoughts to
Melissa's husband Chris, and their family.

Hugs,

STAMPlorations May Theme & Sketch Challenge

Hello and welcome crafty friends!
It's the month of May, and that means it's time for
We are starting back with the 5 separate challenges...sort of!
All challenges have the same theme: Winged Things. Simply make
something incorporating something with wings for any (or all!)
of the challenges for a chance at winning some goodies!
This month's Theme & Sketch has no sketch, just the theme,
so anything goes with wings on it!

Here's the card I made:

and the inside:

I started by adding red, yellow, and blue inks directly onto the
spritzing with water, and laying some white card stock over it, lightly pressing
around the mask. The water let's the inks blend with each other.
I lifted the card off and splattered some watered down red and yellow inks.
Once dry, I cut the panel to size, then stamped over some of the butterfly shapes
using the Trendy Butterflies set using the same blue ink. The sentiment was
stamped using the Trendy Butterflies 2 set. The inside panel was stamped using
the Blossom Overture set, then both panels were adhered to a navy blue card base.

I'm looking forward to seeing what you all create with wings! Don't forget
to link up at the STAMPlorations Theme & Sketch Challenge for a chance
at winning some awesome prizes!

And me having the superpower of procrastination,
today is the last day to link up.
Here are the two cards I've made using the same die cut:

The first, a sympathy card.
(These are the absolute worst cards to make)
 the inside:

Using the little heart pieces from the first card,
I made a Valentine's Day card:

SHOPPING OUR STASH #263 - Silhouettes

Good morning all! Ok, so we apparently scared you a couple weeks ago with the matchbook/box challenge, but this week I'm sure you'll be participating at SHOPPING OUR STASH, because this week's challenge is to create a card or project with a silhouette on it! So many possibilities for this!

Here is the card I made:

 and the finished inside:

I used Distress Inks and water colored my panel first. When that dried I stamped the image a few times in black, using my MISTI. Since I used water color paper, the image towards the bottom wasn't as solid as I liked, so I stamped over it again in VersaMark, and heat embossed it with black embossing powder. Wrapped some floss around the top, added the stamped and die cut sentiment, then adhered the panel to the card base with foam tape.

So, ready to play along? Of course you are! Just link up your card or project at Shopping Our Stash so we can admire it! For more inspiration, please visit the blogs of my teammates and leave them some bloggy lovin! Thanks for visiting!

SHOPPING OUR STASH #247 - You Stamped With What!?

Hello crafty friends and welcome! We have a fun challenge at SHOPPING OUR STASH for you to try out this week: use something other than stamps to stamp with! It may sound hard, but it's really not, and fun to boot! Here's the card I created:

 and the inside:

A feather? Yep. I started with an 8-1/2" x 11" sheet of white cardstock. I picked 3 colors of Distress Ink and one at a time, smooshed the ink on my craft mat. I gently tapped a feather into the ink, then stamped it on the card stock, rolling over it a few times with my brayer to transfer the design. I love that it kind of looks like evergreen boughs! I stamped the cardinal onto water color paper, and using more Distress inks and a water brush, colored the image. It was then fussy cut and popped up on foam squares to my card.

I hope that you find some time to play along with our alternative stamping challenge at Shopping Our Stash! I can't wait to see what you all come up with to use! If you need some more inspiration, please check out what my teammates dreamed up to use as stamps! So clever!! Thanks for visiting!

JUST US GIRLS #330 - Trend Week

Good morning and welcome! It's Trend Week at JUST US GIRLS! Ina is your hostess this week and she's picked a trend that is still going strong: TAGS! She is challenging you to add a tag to your card or project. Here is my card:

 And the inside:

I was in need of a sympathy card, and so this came about. The tags are actually a frame die, but I trimmed one side then rounded the corners. (because I like to do things the hard way.) Speaking of the hard way, the sentiment is also masked a few times. The stamp says 'sorry for your loss' all on one line. I wanted it to be two lines plus add the word so. I added Diamond Stickles to the wings, tail feathers and flower after I had everything adhered in place.

Ready to play along? Sure you are! Just link up your card or project at Just Us Girls so we can admire it! While there, please leave some bloggy love for my teammates and our Guest Designer, Pamellia. Thanks for visiting, and I hope you have a great day!
