We Could Be Heroes

Hello and happy Sunday!
I want to share a tiny canvas that I made.
Tiny as in 4" x 4".
It's so cool!
Check it:

I've been wanting to use these stamps for a while, but wasn't sure what to
make with them until I saw this month's
challenge at Viva Las Vegas Stamps.

I broke out some green paint and some funky stencils and had a ball!
After prepping the canvas with a coat of Gesso and drying, the lighter green paint was
painted on. I stamped the sentiment onto tissue paper and adhered it with matt medium. Then that funky circle stencil was used with the darker green paint. Once that
dried I doodled around all the circles with a F-C PITT pen. I used my finger
to smudge Staz On Jet Black ink around the edges, then adhered the David Bowie image
again with matt medium.
Lastly, I used a stencil to add the hash marks with embossing paste.

And yes, all the sides are painted and stenciled also!

As I'm typing this, it just occurred to me that it was two years ago on
January 10th that we lost this amazing artist,
so I'm just going to leave this here:

Thanks for visiting, and I hope you have a great day!

JUST US GIRLS #393 Trend Week

Hello crafty friends!
Sue is hosting Trend Week at
and she wants you to create a background using any type of ink
you have, be that Distress Inks or Oxides, or any dye inks or sprays.

Here's my card:

 and the inside:

I haven't jumped onto the Distress Oxide bandwagon yet, as I still have plenty of
the Distress Inks to play with, and that's what I used, doing the smooshing technique.
After it was completely dry, I used my MISTI to stamp the image and sentiment multiple
times to get a dark coverage.* I still felt it needed something, so I tinted some crackle embossing
paste with dark chocolate acrylic paint and applied it to opposite corners.
Once that dried, the panel was framed with dark brown cs and adhered
to the card base with foam tape.

Ready to play along? Of course you are! Simply link up at Just Us Girls
so we can admire it! If you need more ideas, please check out the amazing
creations that my teammates and our Guest Designer, Kathie Durgan
have made, and leave them some bloggy lovin!
Thanks for visiting!
Hugs,
* Pay no attention to the fact that I forgot to ground the image with a shadow. Ugh!
