Been working on this for a couple days...

 ...and I finally finished it!

Hello friends, glad that you stopped by. Here's the

card I'm talking about:

 and the inside:

I just bought this new-to-me stamp set a couple

months ago, and it's the first time using it. (NBUS!)

When I finished coloring the first flower, I really wasn't happy about

how it came out. I looked at images of colored flowers and tried just

flicking the four colors I used, leaving bits of white space here and

there. It came out so much better that way, so I stamped the top

flower and colored it again:

Once everything was colored and fussy cut, I also fussy cut

the lone flower, going around the edge with a black marker,

then gluing it on top of the original image. You'd never know

unless you ran your finger over the image!

On the main panel, I wanted a bit of color behind the flowers, so I did

a light wash using Scattered Straw Distress Ink. When that dried, I used

a burlap stencil and randomly went over the colored parts with the

same ink. Of course, I wound up covering up most of the

stenciled bits. LOL! I gave the berries and the centers of the

yellow flowers a coating of Wink of Stella before adhering to the

card base. The sentiment is heat embossed on a little banner.

Another sentiment finishes the inside.

Now that I've figured out how to color flowers better, perhaps I'll

start using them more! 😁

That's it for now. I hope that you have a wonderful rest of

your weekend. Thanks for visiting!

SISTERHOOD OF SNARKY STAMPERS #179 Q is for Queen

Hello snarky peeps and welcome to another fun challenge at the

SISTERHOOD OF SNARKY STAMPERS!

This fortnight is brought to you by the letter Q:

Q for QUEEN!

Here's my take on the subject:

Queen Eunice here looks like she just finished kicking ass and

taking names! LOL! She's colored up with Spectrum Noir markers.

I purposely chose purples, (for royalty!), to color and in

the papers I used. The points of her crown and earrings received

some gold Stickles, her specs some Liquid Glass, and the crown

itself was Winked by Stella:

There are many ways to interpret this, as you will see when you visit the

blogs of my Sisters and our reigning Queen, Tinstar! I hope

that you find some time to play along in our Queen challenge at the

Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers!

Thanks for visiting, and I hope you have a fun day!

SHOPPING OUR STASH #439 - All About Family

Good morning and welcome crafty friends!

It's time for another challenge at SHOPPING OUR STASH!

This fortnight is All About Family!

Here's what I came up with:

Game night with the family? Yes please!

Living in another state from where most of my family live

during Covid hasn't allowed for much of that, but

with the new vaccines rolling out, hopefully

I'll be able to fly to Illinois sometime this year

for a visit. Fingers crossed!

I hope that you get a chance to play along in our Family challenge

at Shopping Our Stash! We'd love to see your take on it. For

more ideas, do check out what my teammies have

created to inspire you.

Thanks for visiting!

Joy slimline card

 Hello there and welcome.

Got a card to share that I was able to combine

some challenges for:

...and here is the inside:

I used a couple of patterned papers from an older Webster's Pages collection. The

red one has this gorgeous script that is lyrics from the song, "Do you hear what I hear?"

I matted it with black card stock, then adhered it to a scalloped gold glitter panel.

The 'JOY' was die cut three times, twice in black card stock, and once in

the music score paper. Those were stacked and glued to the card.

I gold heat embossed the smaller sentiment and used the coordinating

die to cut it out. Last year I found this package of tiny poinsettia

flowers at Tuesday Morning, and finally opened the package

for this card! Another stamped sentiment finishes the inside.

That's all for now. I hope that you are staying safe during

the pandemic, and also in this string of nasty weather too!

Thanks for visiting!

And here's another guy card

Hi there, I'm back with another beer themed guy card.

My guy card stash is pretty much non-existent, so I cranked

out a couple cards to help with that. Here's the other one:

 and the inside:

LOL! I love that sentiment, and this is yet another card for one of my beer drinking

20-something nephews. I was able to use up some snippets from a

paper collection to make up this card. Yay!

That's it for today. Thanks for visiting!

Happy Beer-day

 Hello and welcome crafty friends!

Here's a fun and punny guy card:

 ...and the inside:

I used embossing paste and the Dots and Dashes stencil

for my background. After cleaning the stencil off, I sprinkled

copper embossing powder onto the paste, and tapped off the excess.

While the paste dried, I stamped, colored and fussy cut the beer mug.

I used alpha stamps to stamp my punny sentiment and heat embossed.

Once the embossing paste was dry, I heat embossed the copper

embossing powder that I covered it with.

I blended some brown ink around the panel's edges before adhering

all the components together.

I have a lot of nephews in their 20's so this will be sent to one of them. LOL!

Thanks for visiting. I hope you have a great day!

SISTERHOOD OF SNARKY STAMPERS #178 - N is for No

Hello and welcome snarky peeps! The new challenge has

started at the SISTERHOOD OF SNARKY STAMPERS:

N is for NO!

I'm not going to lie, this one had me stumped for a while.

But then I flipped through a Tim Holtz snarky stickers pack,

and found something to build my art journal page around:

I love how the one lady looks taken aback by what
the other lady says to her! LOL!

Lots of paint, stencils and  masks were used. Grab your
favorite beverage of choice. Here come the process pics:

Using pink and red in February to make....

 ....a Christmas card, of course!

and the inside:

I did throw in some gray to break up all that pink and red though.

I used a snippet of ancient pink woodgrain paper, and found a

red-with-pink-dots paper that were the perfect color match to the

woodgrain paper! The white strip was stenciled in gray ink and the

last layer has a diamond pattern on it. I recently rediscovered my

jars of micro beads, so I used some on the center of the flower,

then gave it and the pink berries a good coating of Wink of Stella

for even more shimmer.

(close up of the micro beads:)

I really love how this card turned out, and it has many of my

beloved layers on it! LOL!

Thanks for visiting. Have a great weekend!
