Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers #245 - J is for Jessi

Hello and welcome friends!
Edna and my sisters are back from the Funny Farm,
I mean, an extended break, and
are gearing up for some snarky shenanigans in 2024!
(Not to mention our 10th year!)

Our last challenge of 2023 is a very special one,
as we pay tribute to our beloved sister and friend, Jessi,
who lost her heroic battle with gastroparesis on December 27, 2018.
My "Evil Double Mint Twin", she shared my intensely
sarcastic sense of humor, as well as a love of swearing! 😉
She was a fellow design team member at Drunken Stampers as
well as Shopping Our Stash.

We'd love to see your Jessi inspired projects in our gallery. If you knew
her, let us know what about your project reminded you of her. If you
didn't know her, you can visit her blog for inspiration.

I've CASED one of Jessi's cards, for my inspiration.
It took a while to whittle it down, as she had sooooo many
fantabulous cards!

I even had doilies in my stash!
Here's the finished inside:

I hope that you'll join Edna and my sisters in
celebrating our dear sister, Jessi. While we won't have a
Queen or Princesses for this special challenge, there
may be a special prize to be had!
(nudge, nudge, wink, wink, know what I mean?!)

Thanks for visiting. 💖

Forever in our hearts and in our thoughts. Love and miss you Sistah.

Holiday Greetings

 Hello and happy Fri-Yay!
I've been having fun playing
with more poinsettia dies
and created another card with them:

In a challenge to myself to use older papers in my stash,
I grabbed a paper pad that's at least 11 years old,
and has a distressed, grungy look to it.
I die cut the main panel from kraft cardstock, then
decided to splatter it with black and white acrylic paints.
It reminded me of burlap after I did that!
I decided that the flowers and leaves needed to be
distressed also. I used a blending brush with whatever
brown ink was on it already and went over the petal tips and leaves.

Here's the finished inside:

I'm taking advantage while Mr. Mojo is in town and
am trying to make a card a day. 😁

That's it for now. Thanks for visiting.
I hope that you have a great day!
Merry Christmas!

Three birds

Hello there and welcome!
I'm really trying to replenish my
stash of birthday cards.
Here's another card I'd like to share:

I had this (in hindsight, not so) brilliant idea to use the
negative of a die cut for my focal image, and let the
paper behind it show through. I forgot about the few itty bitty
pieces that had to be put back. Trying to glue a tiny bit
of cardstock that's smaller than a pin head made me
feel stabby, but I did it. (I'm never doing that again)
I did first try using a white marker to fill in the
two tiny spots, but it wasn't opaque enough.

Here's the finished inside:

Now I have yet another birthday card done! Yay!
That's all for now. Thank you for visiting.
I hope that you have a great day!

A little mixed media casing

 Hello crafty friends and welcome!
Back at the beginning of December I
and thought this card looked really cool,
so I tried my hand at making it.
Do I have any of the products used in
the video? Nope. I used what I already had on hand.
(My supply list is always at the bottom of my posts.)
Here's my version:

The background was created using Distress Inks, then splattered
with white and gold acrylic paint. The same gold was used on
the letters. I used foam strips on the letters, but I had to trim
the foam on a lot of the letters. (the foam strips were just
slightly thicker than the letters. Ugh!)
Here's the finished inside:

Luckily for me I made another panel, in case I messed up,
(But I didn't. Yay!), so I made another card.
This time I die cut the letters three times, stacked and glued together.
(Much easier, and less swear words were said. LOL!)

I really enjoyed the process of making the background,
and I'm thinking of trying it using just blues/greens or
maybe reds/pinks/purples.
Thank you, Channin Pelletier, for the inspiration!

That's all I have for now. Thank you for
visiting, and I wish you a great day!

Joy to the World

 Hello and welcome!
This is my third post in as many days. That's a record
for me lately! LOL!
Today I'm sharing a Christmas card.
Yep, I'm still making them, but now for
next year. 😄

It's hard to take photos of cards that incorporate gold mirror paper,
but I did my best. The leaves are half gold mirror/half gold glitter.
IRL this card just SHINES!

Here's the finished inside:

It's starting to get a bit gloomy outside, but that happens when a
Nor'easter is headed your way. For those of you on the east coast,
stay safe! Thanks for visiting. Have a great day!

A tropical hello

 Hello and happy Fri-YAY!
I made another card to share:

I'm already dreaming of sandy beaches and warm weather!
I bought this stamp set last year at my LSS before they
sadly closed, and it's the first time using it.
(Buying stamps and using them are two different animals!)
I extended the water lines a bit more with a black marker to make sure
the chair was within the die cut oval I used. Of course, that meant
the palm trees were almost completely cut out, and I thought
it was missing more leaves on that side. So I stamped, colored,
fussy cut and glued that one tree to the side, and ran
it again through the die cut, so that the stitch marks  showed.
Crazy? Yes. even more crazy, I used a white Gelly Roll marker to
dot the water along the horizon to mimic sparkle on water.
If you turn your head sideways and squint, you
may see it here:

I left it blank on the inside, as I'm not sure if I want to
make this into a birthday card, or just a thinking of you card.
Time will decide.

Another non-holiday card in the books! LOL!
Thanks for stopping by. I hope you have a wonderful
rest of your day!

Just dusting off the cobwebs here...

 Hello and happy Thursday!!
It's been over a month since I've posted anything.
If you're a procrastinator like me, you've
been in 'Christmas card making mode' for at
least a month or two. I'm happy to say all
my cards have been made and sent out.
(insert sigh of relief here)

Now I'm starting to work on building up my
much depleted stash of birthday cards.
Here's one with a bit of snark:

and the inside:

I used the sketch from the current challenge at Sunday Stamps #324
but tipped it on its side. The part about the ship sailing got me
thinking about using paper that had destination stickers all over it.
Remember back in the day when travellers put stickers
of the places they visited all over their trunks?
That was the thought process behind picking that paper. LOL!

Ok, that's it for this post. I have more cards to share soon. 😊
Thanks for visiting! I hope you have a great rest of your day!
