SHOPPING OUR STASH #378 - Witching Hour

Hey peeps, happy Tuesday to you!
We are still are going strong with Halloween at
This week, you can get your last minute Halloween projects
done with our Witching Hour challenge: anything
with a witch, or spooky, or Halloween is good!

Although the Bride of Frankenstein isn't technically a witch,
she is rather creepy, so I went with it. LOL!

Here's the inside:

My background was created using orange and grey Dylusions ink sprays on white
card stock, inking the edges in Black Soot DI, stamping the sentiment, and running
it through the spider web EF. She's stamped onto more white card and sponged over
in Antique Linen DI. I cut 3 frames, stacked and glued together for some dimension.
Before gluing the 'picture frame', I carefully went over the spider web with Black Soot
DI to bring it out more.

I do think this may be the last Halloween project I make before
switching to 'Christmas card mode'. LOL! I hope you
will join us for our Witching Hour challenge at
Shopping Our Stash! We'd love to see your projects in our gallery!

I Ain't Got No...Body

Hello peeps and happy Wednesday to you!
I was working on a mixed media canvas the last few days
and finally finished it.
Still in the Halloween mood, of course,
as it's my favorite holiday. Take a look:

Here are a few process pics. I prepped the canvas with gesso, and once dry
added the music sheet paper with matte medium. I got into playing and forgot
to take pics of that first. LOL!
Next layer was the skull stencil with crackle paste and the snakeskin stecil
with modeling paste. I added some texture sand paste randomly around the
edges once the stencil layer was dry.

Added a wash of Paynes Grey around skull.

Then Primary Yellow and more Paynes Grey over that.

Next I went over the entire canvas with Quinacridrone Gold,
blotting some back with a baby wipe, especially on the skull.
I wanted it to look aged, but not too orange.
I swiped a Jet Black Staz On ink pad over the snakeskin stencil to bring
the texture out more, and also around the canvas edges.

The sentiment? Well that was what inspired this canvas.
And it was my husband's idea!
We have this big skull sitting on the stair landing, and he
just started singing "I ain't got no body." After laughing
our asses off, I said that was brilliant and I needed to
make a punny skull project!

I used alpha stamps to stamp the sentiment on white card stock,
then aged it with tan and brown sponged ink. Also stamped some
texture using gray ink.
That was applied with matte medium. Once dry I sealed it with
matte varnish.
I added the flowers to ground my skull and that was it!

You made it to the end of my post! Yay!
Thanks for visiting. I hope you have a fabulous day!

A tribute for Melissa Lane

Good morning crafty friends.
Today, the design team at STAMPlorations is paying tribute
to one of our own, Melissa Lane, of Honey Bee Lane who passed away
on October 2nd. She was an incredibly talented mixed media artist,
card maker, gardener, and follower of Jesus.
Admittedly, I didn't know her too well, and am sorry that I won't have
the chance to. She had one of the biggest hearts and I will
miss seeing her amazing creations.
She loved butterflies, rainbows, and the color red was her favorite.

Here is the card I made:

If you would like to help in celebrating her life,
we welcome you to create a butterfly card in her memory, and link it up
on this post at STAMPlorations.

Sending continued prayers and comforting thoughts to
Melissa's husband Chris, and their family.

Hugs,

Another page done!

Hi there and welcome!
Lately I've been feeling artistically in a funk.
Ever get that way? You know, when a card
that should take no more than 10 minutes to make
turns out to take over 2 hours?
Also, I felt like I was neglecting my art journals and paints,
so I picked up the One Badass Art Journal that I started
last year (*cough*), and finished another page in it. YAY!
This was week 11, and our teacher is the fabulous Robin Mead!
Here's how my finger painted Wild Garden turned out:

It's amazing that it first looked like this, the first of many layers:

A total hot mess, right?
Layers and doodling. Who knew that's what I needed?
LOL!

So glad I returned to my art journal, because now I'm working on
a mixed media canvas. The idea came from my Hubby, and I hope to
finish it soon, as it's Halloween themed. (Of course!)

Well, until tomorrow, that's all for now.
Thanks for visiting. I hope you have a great evening!

SHOPPING OUR STASH #376 - Pink is the new Orange

Hi there and welcome back!
This week at SHOPPING OUR STASH, we are helping
to raise awareness about Breast Cancer Awareness Month,
but also getting in the mood for Halloween. So, as our
challenge title, Pink is the new Orange, suggests, we'd like to see
pink and orange on your projects. Also, because we are all about choices,
you can skip the Halloween theme and just go with a friendship card,
especially if you know of someone who was or is still fighting breast cancer.
Save the Ta-Ta's! PLEASE get a mammogram every year!

Ok, so here's my card:

Most of what I used on my card is over 3 years old, the Nuance powder dyes may just
be a year old. (I experimented in the Spring with using them on designer paper,
then never used it, until now. LOL!) My orange pumpkins are die cut from this paper.
I used another mystery scrap of DP for my pink pumpkin. This one I stamped
the face then doodled the lines and added shading with a Prismacolor pencil.
I rummaged in my Big-Bag-Of-Halloween-Supplies and found these cool spider stickers.

Ready to play along? Of course you are! Break out your pink and orange supplies
and make something fun! Be sure to link it up in the Shopping Our Stash gallery
so we can admire it! Still stumped on what to do? Simply visit the blogs of
my teammies to see how they interpreted the challenge. They made some
amazing creations which are sure to inspire you!
Thanks for visiting. Have a wonderful day!

STAMPlorations Stencil Blog Hop featuring Sanna Lippert Designs!

Happy Monday and welcome friends!
Today starts part 2 of the

My first card features the Dots 'n Beans ARTploations stencil, along
After sponging a rainbow of inks over the stencil, I added crystal
Stickles to all the dots for some sparkle. I even went over the
word rainbow with my Wink of Stella pen, but with my crack
photography skillz, you can't see that. LOL!

For my second card, I've used the
Barley ARTplorations stencil. I added embossing paste over the stencil
then after removing and cleaning the stencil, I sprinkled on copper
embossing powder and let the paste dry for a few hours. Once dry I heat
embossed the copper powder and sponged some Vintage Photo DI around
the edges and adhered to my card base.

SHOPPING OUR STASH # 375 - Giving Thanks

Hello and welcome back crafty friends!
This week at SHOPPING OUR STASH
we are giving thanks, either to celebrate Thanksgiving, or
as a simple Thank You, your choice!

Here's what I came up with:

I used a few powder dyes spritzed with water on some mixed media
paper for a water color look. Once dry, I spritzed it again, this time with gold Glimmer Mist.
This was die cut using a leaf cover plate.
I tried to get a close up picture of all the gorgeous shimmer, but you
know it's super hard to achieve.

The single leaf on my sentiment panel is actually a 3D foam leaf from Scrapbook Adhesives.
I won a package of them many years ago, and recently came across them, the package
never opened until now. I dipped one of the sides in embossing powder and heat embossed it.
Looks really cool so now I may have to try this technique again.

We'd love to see what you create in the Shopping Our Stash gallery, and hope
you'll join us this week! For more amazing ideas, simply visit my teammies blogs to
see what they came up with!
Thanks for visiting, and I hope you have a fabulous day!
