SISTERHOOD OF SNARKY STAMPERS #85 B is for Beach

Hiya snarky peeps and welcome!
This fortnight at the
it's all about the BEACH!!

Here's my take on the challenge:

I was inspired by this card by Lauren Bergold and had a go at water coloring
my beach background using various Distress Inks. I'm quite pleased with
how it turned out. I colored my beach babe image with Spectrum Noir markers and
Prismacolor pencils, fussy cut and adhered her with thin foam squares. Stamped
the sentiment and this card was done.

Now it's your turn to break out those beach themed items you've been hoarding and use
them on your card or project! We hope to see you link up at the
Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers! For more inspiration, do check out what my Sisters in Snark,
and our Guest Designer - Margo have created, and leave some bloggy love!
Thanks for visiting!

SHOPPING OUR STASH #303 - Project Runway

Hello and good morning crafty peeps!
This week at
we want you to create something using
FABRIC!
It could be actual fabric, fabric tape, or fabric embellishments.
I dug into my ancient stash of fabric and use some on my card:

I took a small piece of water color paper, covered it with matte medium and added
the scrap of fabric onto it, smoothing it out as much as possible.
After it was completely dried, I cut it to size using pinking shears,
matted it onto some red card stock, wrapped some twine around it and
adhered it to my card base with foam squares.

I hope you get some time this week to play along at Shopping Our Stash!
We'd love to see your take on our challenge!

Thanks for stopping by!
Hugs,

I'd like to enter this at Case This Sketch #221

JUST US GIRLS #393 Trend Week

Hello crafty friends!
Sue is hosting Trend Week at
and she wants you to create a background using any type of ink
you have, be that Distress Inks or Oxides, or any dye inks or sprays.

Here's my card:

 and the inside:

I haven't jumped onto the Distress Oxide bandwagon yet, as I still have plenty of
the Distress Inks to play with, and that's what I used, doing the smooshing technique.
After it was completely dry, I used my MISTI to stamp the image and sentiment multiple
times to get a dark coverage.* I still felt it needed something, so I tinted some crackle embossing
paste with dark chocolate acrylic paint and applied it to opposite corners.
Once that dried, the panel was framed with dark brown cs and adhered
to the card base with foam tape.

Ready to play along? Of course you are! Simply link up at Just Us Girls
so we can admire it! If you need more ideas, please check out the amazing
creations that my teammates and our Guest Designer, Kathie Durgan
have made, and leave them some bloggy lovin!

Hugs,
* Pay no attention to the fact that I forgot to ground the image with a shadow. Ugh!

SHOPPING OUR STASH #302 - Put a Button On It

Hello crafty peeps!
This week at
we want to see buttons on your cards or projects.
Pretty simple, huh?
Here's my take on the challenge:

and the inside:

Ok, so I only put one button on my card. But, it came from the collection of
buttons that my Mom gave to me years ago. And she got the collection from
my Grandmother. Back in the day, they would salvage any buttons
that they could from coats/hats/pants/shirts/etc. So I find it nice to think that
this particular button came from a coat that my Aunt Jo
had from when she was 13 years old.
It's a comforting thought. ☺

Now it's your turn to break out those buttons and use them! Just link up to
Shopping Our Stash so we can admire your creations! For more
ideas, be sure to visit the blogs of my teammies and while there, leave
them some love! Thanks for visiting, have a great day!

JUST US GIRLS! #392 - Word Week

Hello friends and welcome!
It's Trend Week at JUST US GIRLS!
Maria is hosting this week and she wants to see
your creations to honor Mom! Perfect timing
as Mother's Day is approaching.
Here's what I made:

 Here's the inside:

I used a stencil on the card base going with a tone on tone look in aqua. After I adhered
the frame die cut, I found some much neglected pink suede flowers and glued them on. I die cut
a flower die, snipped off the leaves and tucked them behind the flowers. Found the
perfect sized Thickers to spell out MOM. A stamped sentiment finishes the inside.

I hope you find some time to play along this week at Just Us Girls! For more
inspiration, please check out what my teammies came up with and leave them some
bloggy lovin. I'd also like to welcome our
May Guest Designer, Kathie Durgan!

SHOPPING OUR STASH #301 Back to Basics

Welcome friends!
This week at
we are getting back to basics. Time to
put those dies away and do some
FUSSY CUTTING!

Here's the card I made:

 and the inside:

I started by stamping the image onto a white panel, coloring the face, hands, feet, ground and outline around the doll. I stamped the doll again on bits of orange, blue, and gray scrap paper, fussy cut, and adhered. (I did add shading to the hair with a marker first.)

In keeping with the 'no dies' challenge. I broke out a much neglected decorative scissors to cut
the black frames. (Thus the reason they look like crap.)

Now it's your turn to show us your mad fussy cutting skillz! Just be sure to
link up at Shopping Our Stash so we can admire it!
Need more ideas? Simply visit the blogs of my teammies and while there, leave them
some love!
Thanks for visiting!

adding pinterest script 3. Changing the Position of the Pin it! button The cool thing about this code is that you have some freedom over where the Pinterest button for Blogger will go over the image. Take a look at the code that you just copied and pasted into the HTML for the word 'center'.
