SISTERHOOD OF SNARKY STAMPERS #193 - P is for Paper Piecing

Hello snarky peeps! It's time once again for a new challenge
This fortnight is brought to you by the letter P - for PAPER PIECING!
Apparently, some of my Sistahs thought, like me, that using stamps
from Art Impressions was the ticket. 😄
Here's what I came up with:

I figured the paper piecing might be hard to make out, so
here's the cut apart pieces I used: both pants, both shirts, and
the cardigan were all paper pieced.

After all the glue dried, I went over the paper pieced clothes with
various Spectrum Noir markers to add some shading.

I used sketch 434 from Atlantic Hearts challenge, which was
the current challenge when I made this card. (I was working ahead)
Of course, a snarky sentiment is always a great finishing touch
whenever possible! LOL!

I hope that you get a chance to play along in our Paper Piecing challenge
at the Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers! Need more idea? Simply check out
what my Sistahs, and our reigning Queen, Rachel, have created to wow you!
Thanks for visiting. Have a wonderful day!

SISTERHOOD OF SNARKY STAMPERS #179 Q is for Queen

Hello snarky peeps and welcome to another fun challenge at the

SISTERHOOD OF SNARKY STAMPERS!

This fortnight is brought to you by the letter Q:

Q for QUEEN!

Here's my take on the subject:

Queen Eunice here looks like she just finished kicking ass and

taking names! LOL! She's colored up with Spectrum Noir markers.

I purposely chose purples, (for royalty!), to color and in

the papers I used. The points of her crown and earrings received

some gold Stickles, her specs some Liquid Glass, and the crown

itself was Winked by Stella:

There are many ways to interpret this, as you will see when you visit the

blogs of my Sisters and our reigning Queen, Tinstar! I hope

that you find some time to play along in our Queen challenge at the

29 again?

Hi there crafty friends, and happy Mardi Gras to you!
Someday I hope to experience that in New Orleans.
Yep, it's a bucket list item! LOL!

Speaking of fun and festive, I've got a birthday card to share:

Here's the inside:

I love that sentiment paired with this sassy lady! LOL!
She's colored with Prismacolor pencils, fussy cut and popped up on
foam squares over the inky background. That panel was made
by spritzing a couple colors of Dylusions ink sprays. I then covered it with
a stencil and wiped away some of the ink with a baby wipe to get
that ghost image. It's a fun technique!

That's all for now. Time to walk the fur baby.
Have a great day and thanks for visiting!

SHOPPING OUR STASH #368 - Hot, hot, hot!!

Welcome friends! This week at SHOPPING OUR STASH,
we are getting Hot, Hot, Hot!!
Which means, we'd like to see anything that is hot on your projects,
for instance, the weather, spicy food, cooking related, etc.
Me? I touched on the theme in a very personal, yet humorous way:

Hot flashes. Aren't they the best? - said no one ever.

I unearthed an ancient paper pack from Webster's Pages for my card.
As soon as I saw this particular paper, I knew I was going to use it,
because of the bit of leopard print on the edge.
(Sort of a nod to the Cougars out there! LOL!)
And only used one piece of paper. The hounds tooth is the B side. Love it!
I screwed up when using a tiny hole punch on the earrings. I cut off a bit on the
second one, so I embraced the oops and snipped the other earring for a
more cohesive look. (As if I totally meant to do that!)
You can't tell, but I've added Glossy Accents to her fabulous glasses.
(Am I the only one who wants a pair shaped like these too?)
Somehow, I don't already own a stamp with this sentiment, (a travesty!),
so I used my computer and printer this time around.

Now it's your turn! How would you interpret the Hot theme? We'd love
to see your take on it in the gallery at Shopping Our Stash!
Need more ideas? Simply check out what my teammies created.
While visiting their blogs, please leave a comment about what you think.
Thanks for visiting. Hope you have a great day!

SISTERHOOD OF SNARKY STAMPERS #85 B is for Beach

Hiya snarky peeps and welcome!
This fortnight at the
it's all about the BEACH!!

Here's my take on the challenge:

I was inspired by this card by Lauren Bergold and had a go at water coloring
my beach background using various Distress Inks. I'm quite pleased with
how it turned out. I colored my beach babe image with Spectrum Noir markers and
Prismacolor pencils, fussy cut and adhered her with thin foam squares. Stamped
the sentiment and this card was done.

Now it's your turn to break out those beach themed items you've been hoarding and use
them on your card or project! We hope to see you link up at the
Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers! For more inspiration, do check out what my Sisters in Snark,
and our Guest Designer - Margo have created, and leave some bloggy love!
Thanks for visiting!

SHOPPING OUR STASH #237 - Dreaming of something Warm

Hello friends and welcome! We have a fun (we think!) challenge starting at SHOPPING OUR STASH: Dreaming of something Warm! Whether it be the beach, a steaming cup of tea or coffee, the sun, and with Valentine's Day approaching, warm hugs, we challenge you to create something with a warm theme. I, of course, went with a beach scene. Here's the card I made:

 Here is the inside:

I've discovered that I'm sort of a perfectionist when coloring images. Because of that, I think it took me at least 6 hours to color this one. Sheesh! I swear I used half of my SN markers. LOL! I'm still not happy with the purple bathing suit, but after I re-did it the second time, I told myself to just let it be. (We are our own worst critics)  I added Glossy Accents to the sun glasses and drink glasses, plus Diamond Stickles to the earrings and flower centers. You can see that a bit better in this next pic:

Ready to play along? Of course you are! Simple create a project that has a warm theme to it and link it up at Shopping Our Stash so we can admire it! While there, please do check out the amazing creations of the other ladies, and leave them some bloggy love. Thanks for visiting!

I laughed so hard.....

Hello and happy Thursday to you! I have a card I want to share using sketch #5 from Lesley Croghan at Always Playing with Paper:

Here's the inside:

the sketch:

Ok, so it's a loose interpretation of the sketch. But I liked it, even though the image I used is too big for it. It's been a while since I colored anything, and I needed to color this image specifically, since I had one of my sisters in mind when buying the set. (and it is soooo her! LOL! and her birthday is coming up, so... ☺)

That's all for now. Short and sweet. Thanks for stopping by and I hope that you have a great rest of the day! Stay crafty my friends!
