Pink Christmas

Hello crafty friends!
I'm popping in today with a card made for a few challenges,
but most importantly for the

Lauren and Stephanie are at it again, raising money
to donate to the

They will both donate two dollars for every Christmas/holiday/winter card or project
linked up between October 13 thru 25!
The only catch? Your card or project must feature the
color pink predominately on it.
Easy peasy (pink)lemon(ade) squeezy!
Here's my card:

 and the inside:

I love the combination of pink/gray/white/silver.
My ornament was stamped and heat embossed in silver EP, then fussy cut.
I punched a hole in the hanger and added some dark pink floss.
To continue the silver shininess, I edged a white card stock panel with versamark, sprinkled
more silver EP on it and heat set it. It made for a great matte for the pink DP I found
in my paper stash!

Ooh! Shiny!

If you haven't played along before, now's a great time to participate!
It's for such an important cause.
Now, I want to go and make some more pink colored Christmas cards,
and I hope you will too!
Thanks for visiting. Have a great day!

JUST US GIRLS #325 - Trend Week

Hello friends and welcome to Trend Week at JUST US GIRLS! Sue is your hostess this week and she's wants you to use METALS/METALLICS on your card or project. Do you have foil papers? Embossing powder in silver/gold/copper/pewter colors? Hoarding those charms or brads? Time to break them out and use them! ☺ Here's the card I made:

 ...and the finished inside:

This card came out much better than I thought it would, considering it has a white on white theme to it. All the card stock and papers are slightly different. For example, I started with a card base that has a linen texture to it. The vertical strip is glittered. The banner was cut from card stock that IRL is very shimmery. With my crack photography skillz, you may not see it, but it shimmers! I heat embossed the sentiment in silver, and also the scalloped circle die behind it. See?

In hindsight, I probably should have used sliver glitter paper, but me being me, I had to do things the hard way. What's really funny to me is that it looks like I cut it out of duct tape. LOL! For some additional metal elements, I glued a few silver bells onto my card. The inside was stamped in silver ink, and I also edged the panel with it.

I hope you get some time to join us at Just Us Girls for our Metals challenge! Please do check out what our two Guest Designers - Deepti and Vicki - have created, along with my talented teammates! If you are picked as Chic of the Week for any of our January challenges, you'll be in the running to be our guest designer for the month of March! Good luck, happy crafting, and thanks for visiting!

JUST US GIRLS #308 - Wild Card Week!

Hello and good morning! Since there's an extra Saturday this month, JUST US GIRLS has a Wild Card Week! Nancy is your hostess this week and she came up with a great sketch for you to try! Here is my take on it:

 And the inside:

So the only stamping done is on the inside. But that's ok. I used up some of my Christmas stockpile, and I feel really good about that. You can't really see it from the photo, but all the stickers have bits of glitter added for some subtle shimmer. Awesome!

I hope you find some time this coming week to play along at Just Us Girls! Please be sure to check out what my teammies created and leave them some bloggy love. Also, it's our GD, Karen Bourke's last post with us. Thank you, Karen, for guest designing this month with us! Your card creations were amazing, and I hope to see you playing along with us in the future!

Just a reminder, if you are picked as Chic of the Week for any of our August challenges, you'll be in the running to be our Guest Designer for the month of October. Have fun and get crafty!

Getting inky....again.

Hello all and happy hump day to you! I recently made the 45 minute trip to the closest LSS in my area, and did some retail therapy. I went there mostly to get my hands on some new dies by Memory Box. (So the next few cards I post may have one of them incorporated into my design. Just sayin.) Anyhooo, here's one of them:

Here is the inside of the card:

I'm so very behind making Christmas cards. But it's been a rather crappy first part of the year, what with my FIL passing away, my Dad's health getting worse due to Dementia, and my fur baby being diagnosed with Epilepsy, well, cards didn't get made. So, I'm endeavoring to try to catch up as much as possible.

I used a couple distress inks for the background, nice light colors, then misted it with pearl Glimmer Mist, to add some shimmer. (Gotta have shimmer!) Once that dried, I used a stencil and embossing paste to add some 'falling snow'. That panel, once dried, was adhered to the card base. The top panel was die cut with one of the new dies I mentioned above, and adhered with foam squares. All the white space around it was making me all itchy, so I framed it with some rhinestone strips. (I was so relieved when I realized the as of yet unopened pack of rhinestones came in strips! Can you imagine how friggin long it would have taken me to add them around the die cut?!!!) A simple sentiment finishes the inside.

So, that's it for now. The maid needs to go and do some more housework. (Me being the maid.) Thanks for stopping by and I hope that you have a great day!

JUST US GIRLS #297 Trend Week

Hi there! It's time for a new challenge at JUST US GIRLS! Sue is your hostess this time around for Trend Week. She's picked a fun trend that is all the rage right now: Stacked Die Cuts! Here's the card I came up with:

 and the inside:

I was surfing Pinterest (again) and came across this Santa tag tutorial, using a soda can tab for the belt buckle, and I knew I just had to CASE it (but with my own spin to it...of course... ☺) I used black ribbon, silver brads, and added white 'trim' to the bottom of it. My sentiment was die cut 4 times: 3 in white and one in red. The white die cuts were glued together then glued off center onto the red one, for a bit of contrast.

Now it's your turn to play along! I hope to see what you created using stacked die cuts. Be sure to link up your card or project at Just Us Girls so we can see it. While there, please check out the amazing cards the other ladies, and our June GD Ros Crawford, have made and leave them some bloggy love! Remember that if you are picked as Chic of the Week for any of our June challenges, you'll be in the running for our Guest Designer for the month of August! Good luck and I hope you have a great day! Thanks for stopping by!

It's a two-for!!

I made two, count 'em, two cards for the Merry Monday #148 challenge. Go me! Check it:

Here's card #2:

the inside:

I stamped the image twice, just in case I screwed one of them up. Turns out they both came out ok. Yay me! So I dug through my scraplet pile for the patterned paper, selective colored the images, and wah-la! Two pretty cards!

Well, that's all I got. I'm wiped out. We got slammed with another 8" of snow today. Hubby thankfully worked from home today, and we just got done shoveling ourselves plus three of our neighbors out. I'm really starting to feel it in my lower back! Thanks for stopping by, I hope your day was better than mine! LOL!

I'd to enter these at Merry Monday #148 - red and green

I'm seeing stars....

Hello and happy Friday!! I have a card to share using a (new to me) technique: Bokeh! Check it:

Here is the inside of the card:

I started with a white cs panel, and sponged three colors of Distress Ink randomly over it. Then I found a (NBUS!) star stamp and loading it with Frost White chalk ink, randomly stamped that over the panel. There's second generation stamping in there also, and wa-la: Bokeh! At this point I went over it with my heat gun as I knew I was going to heat emboss the sentiment. It's framed in kraft then mounted onto a blue card base. I found some gold star shaped sequins in my stash and added those as a final touch. I. Really. Love. How. This. Turned. Out!

Well, I'm off to walk the fur baby. I hope you have a great day and weekend! Thanks for stopping by!

Holly Jolly

Hey all. It's Sunday morning and I have a card to share for a couple challenges. It's the first Christmas card I've made this year. I am way behind in that! This was made using sketch #172 from Freshly Made Sketches and Merry Monday #144.

 Here's the inside:

I stamped and heat embossed the snowman and inked around the edges with Antique Linen DI. It's popped up on foam squares over the embossed panel and strip of DP with the twine tied around it. I spritzed the wooden snowflake with Sapphire Glimmer Mist. A simple sentiment finishes the inside.

I'm off to enter this, as one of these challenges is about to expire. Procrastination - it's my Super Power! LOL!

Thanks for stopping by!
