Trying out a new-to-me product

 Hello and welcome!
I recently purchased a jar of Cosmic Shimmer Gilding Flakes,
and had some fun getting crazy messy with it.
The jar I used is called Summer Meadow. It has gold, copper,
and turquoise flakes. So pretty!
I don't have any dry-to-tacky glue yet, but I got around
that by adhering an adhesive sheet to some black card stock.
The sticky side is actually the side you want to apply the
gilding flakes to. Here is a good tutorial that explains it.
The only thing I did differently is that I used a stencil brush
instead of my fingers to burnish the flakes.
One thing: if you try this, make sure your window is closed, and
your fan is off, and don't sneeze! LOL!

It's so incredibly gorgeous in real life!

I used some alcohol ink looking paper for the main panel, added a
clear sticker trimmed onto some white card stock, and finished the
butterfly with some black rhinestones.

I die cut other images along with this butterfly so I'll be showing
how I made them into cards in the near future.
I hope that you have a great rest of your day. Thanks for visiting!

SISTERHOOD OF SNARKY STAMPERS #204 - Q is for Quirky

Hello snarky peeps and welcome! It's time once again for the
new challenge at the SISTERHOOD OF SNARKY STAMPERS!
This fortnight it's Q for QUIRKY!
I created an art journal page for my project:

I decided to make a collage using bits of leftover gel prints, stamped
cardstock and book paper, and paper using Magenta Nuance powder dyes.
Once everything was dry, I randomly stamped more images, then
added doodle marks with a black and a white pen.

Here are some process photos:

I set that aside and printed out the sentiment and the
main image, colored and fussy cut them. These were adhered with
foam squares then I glued some sequins on the gal to use as earrings.

Glad that I put a small dent in the pile of backgrounds I've made
over the years. LOL! I hope that you'll join Edna and my Sisters
for our Quirky challenge at the Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers.
Need more ideas? Do check out what my teammies and our
reigning Queen, Beverly, have created to inspire you!
Thanks for visiting. I hope you have a great day!

A Tiny Craft ATC February Challenge

 Hello and welcome friends!
The team at A Tiny Craft (ATC) Challenge had a lovely
holiday season and now it's time for the
challenges to resume! This month,
the theme is NBUS: never before used stuff!
(Thank you, Darnell, for allowing us to
use your moniker! It's all out of LOVE!)
Simply use those new crafty goodies, and/or perhaps
use something you had in your stash, but haven't used yet.
Here's my offering:

My new stuff is the floral stamps and the paper.
I know one of the big trends right now is alcohol ink backgrounds,
but I haven't jumped on that band wagon yet.
I did the next best thing: I bought a paper pad in
a rainbow of alcohol ink backgrounds!
I ran the panels though a scripty embossing folder, then
brayered white ink over the raised parts so they
showed up a bit better. The flowers were heat embossed then painted using
a water brush and Derwent Inktense blocks. A bit of
ribbon and some of Tim's small talk stickers and these were done!

Here are some close ups:

I hope that you'll join us for our NBUS challenge
and link up your ATC cards or coins at
to see your creations!

Thanks for visiting, I hope that you have a great day!

I'd like to enter this at NBUS challenge #35

The face of ultimate judgement: Edna!

Hello and welcome back snarky friends!
With the state of the world these days, it seems like many
of us are feeling a wee bit judgy, so why not embrace it?!
For the next two weeks, we are getting all judgemental at the
Here's my take:

Who judges anything and everything better than a cat? I love
this stamp set from Katzelkraft and knew right away I
was going to use one of the images for my project. I
used my computer to print the sentiment, and with
the help of Tuesday Morning Sketches #640, (now ended)
it was easy to put this together.
I hope that you'll be able to join us this fortnight at the
Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers in our Judgemental challenge!

and our reigning Queen, Cathy have created to enlighten you!
