Did you get it?

...a sail boat on the water, a cassette tape, and a rocking horse all, well, rock! (patting myself on the back for my cleverness *koff*) So, since these images are nice sized, I made a 5" x 7" card so they'd all fit. All three are paper pieced and fussy cut. Here, maybe I should show you what I'm talking about:

 and here's the inside:

I need to work up my stash of thank you cards, and now I have one to send to a guy if need be. (Although it would still work for a gal too!) I'm using sketch #5 over at The Crooked Stamper Sketch challenge, and since it's been ages for me to use more than just a Paper Smooches sentiment stamp on a card, I am entering this over at the current PS Sparks challenge - Anything Goes. ☺

Thanks for visiting, and I hope you get some crafty time in this weekend!

SISTERHOOD OF SNARKY STAMPERS #28 - A is for Accident

Good morning all! We have a new challenge this fortnight at THE SISTERHOOD OF SNARKY STAMPERS! It's inspired by Edna, poor bird. She was out at the pub and may have imbibed a few too many Jagerbombs, as she started dancing on the tabletops, lost her balance and fell. Just look at that shiner she's sporting!  Our new challenge is simple: make a get well card. Here's mine:

 and the inside:

There is no reasoning as to why I decided to die cut all those hexilongs. I just wanted to do this! Plus, googly eyed dinosaur! She just looks like she's yelling the sentiment. LOL!

We all need get well cards from time to time. Our new challenge at the Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers is a great excuse to crank one (or more) out! Be sure to link it up so we can see it, and while there, check out what my teammies, and our newest Guest Designer, Michelle, have come up with to dazzle you!

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you are staying warm! (Winter bites - I'm sooooo ready for Spring!)

SHOPPING OUR STASH #185 - Not Your Normal Paper

Hey all! It's Tuesday and that means a new challenge starts at SHOPPING OUR STASH! This week we want you to break out and use that specialty paper that you just had to have, and of course never use! HA! Did you snag some cork, burlap, or corrugated paper? Got foil, or glitter, or canvas paper that you're hoarding? Time to have some fun with it! Here's what I made:

 and the inside:

My specialty paper is a burlap sheet, cork paper, and corrugated paper. (Yes, I actually bought corrugated paper! What the heck was I thinking?! My excuse is that it has teeny tiny corrugations as opposed to a cardboard box, which has much larger ones.) That's my story and I'm sticking with it. My card is based on an older Sweet Sunday Sketch (#252). The main panel is cork, and I stamped directly onto it, then used my Spectrum Noir markers to color the bear. I like how the cork adds texture and makes the bear look furry! Cool Beans! The banner was die cut then inked around the edges. I cut the flower die twice, from burlap and red card stock, and added a brad in the middle. A simple sentiment finishes the inside.

I hope you get the chance to play along this week with us at Shopping Our Stash! Please do check out what my teammates created to inspire you! You'll be amazed with their crazy mad skillz!!

Challenges I'm entering this card at:

Shopping Our Stash #152: Make an Anniversary or Birthday card

How simple, right?! At SHOPPING OUR STASH, we have a super easy challenge this week: make either an Anniversary or a Birthday card. (Because on May 24th, SOS celebrates our 3 year Anniversary! Woot! Woot! Here's what I came up with. Be warned, it's pretty sappy:

and the inside:

I will be giving this to my hubby for our 23rd Anniversary, which is on the 25th this month. 23 years! And we still like each other! LOL!

I tried a new-to-me technique, which is the cloud background. I made my own cloud template too:

I dug through my pile of discarded die cuts (that I couldn't throw away, since I knew I'd use them some day), found a few with scalloped/curvy edges and glued together to make my template. It works, people! I stamped the castle first, then stamped it again on scrap and fussy cut it to use as a mask before inking my clouds. I used the curvy die from the PS Borders 1 set to cut my hill out, and also the royal icons dies and stamps. Some coloring with my SN markers, some Stickles on the dress and crown, a computer generated inside sentiment, and wa-la! Done!

This challenge is soooo easy, there are no excuses for not playing along! Just use something in your stash, and link up you card or project at Shopping Our Stash! If you get the chance, please stop by my teammies blogs to see what they created! You won't want to miss out! Thanks for stopping by and I hope you have a fabulous day!

Shopping Our Stash #146: Pieces of April (Paper Piecing)

Hello friends and happy Tuesday to you all! We have a new challenge at SHOPPING OUR STASH, which is paper piecing! Here is my card:

Here is the inside:

I'm so proud of myself. Except for the card base, all the papers I used were from the scrap bin! Yay me! My little bunny is paper pieced with two different pink papers and white cs. I even found the streamer that I had stamped/die cut a couple months ago in the "die-cuts-to-be-used-in-the-future" pile. (You have one of those piles, right?) I just manipulated the sentiment to follow the curve of the streamer then stamped it in green ink. After I finished the card, I kept looking at the bunny and thinking it needed more. (of course.) So I added the googly eyes. Much better! This bunny image should have a disclaimer on it that says that whenever used, it is mandatory to have googly eyes! LOL! Hey look at that, Paper Smooches is having another Sparks - Anything Goes challenge. (wink!)

So now it's your turn to get your paper piecing party on, (Try saying that three times fast. HA!), and link your project up at Shopping Our Stash! Please be sure to check out the fabulous creations that my teammates came up with for your viewing pleasure! Now go forth and get crafty!

Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers Challenge #2 - U is for Unused

Good morning peeps! It's time for another alphabet soup challenge at the SISTERHOOD OF SNARKY STAMPERS! For the next two weeks, your challenge is to use something, well, unused! LOL!

The Sisters want you to create a card/ATC/layout/etc. with an item or items that you've never used, and/or something you have in your stash that's been severely neglected. If you're like me, you have a boat load of stamps that have never seen ink (GASP!), or stickers/bling/do-dads, maybe a tool you bought a few years ago because you just HAD to have it, then only used it once, if at all! Get those bad boys out and USE them! LOL! If you happen to add some snark to your project - FANTABULOUS! Our motto is, "Not necessarily snarky, but snark if necessary"! (I know, Lindsey came up with that gem the other day! Hey, it's a new challenge blog - we are still trying to figure sh*t out! LOL!)

Anyhoooo, I didn't necessarily go the snark route, but instead went the punny and cute route:

Here's the inside:

So, the unused items? Mostly stamps that have never seen ink: the gnome, the alpha stamps, the woodgrain stamp on the speech bubble (second generation stamped). And - that grass DP was trimmed from a 12" x 12" sheet that I've had 4-Eh-Ver! No, for reals. Look at the back - it's from 2005!!!

Oh, one other thing I've used. Diane sent me an Action Wobble in her Christmas card to me, and I've been hoarding it, not wanting to use it. But, finally, I felt it was time to put it to use. On the gnome. Or, under it. (*koff*) I took a bitty video of it, and, as soon as I figure out how to add said video to my post, I will add it. So far, no such luck. (I'm computer illiterate, dontchaknow?!) LOL!

ETA: This may or may not work. Sorry if it doesn't!

So, ready to rock this challenge? You know you are! Just make sure you link up your project at the Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers so we can Ooh and Aah over your brilliance! And please check out what my Sistahs created for your viewing pleasure!  Now, go forth and get your craft on!

Oh, and I'm entering this card over at the current Paper Smooches Sparks challenge - Anything Goes

Stay crafty my friends!

2.8 Birthday Wishes

* Click here if you're looking for my Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers post, or simply keep scrolling down. :)

Hello there! I want to pop in real quick to share a card I made for my Mom's upcoming birthday. Ta-da!:

Here's the inside:

This card was assembled rather quickly, except for having to color the heart rhinestones to match. (Tip: To get all matchy-matchy, use your alcohol markers to color clear rhinestones.) I think that actually took the longest to do! I received happy mail today from Paper Smooches, so I used the new stamps and dies I got.

I got lucky and thought ahead to combine challenges. (It doesn't happen often with me.) The sketch is Dahlhouse Designs Wanna Sketch #12:

Colors are based on Colour Me #6 - Monochromatic using wisteria and white:

Since I used Paper Smooches stamps and dies, I'll also enter this in the soon to be not current Sparks Challenge - Anything Goes:

I love it when a plan comes together. Or rather, challenges. HA! Thanks for stopping by! Stay crafty my friends!

2.1 - Go to your happy place

What is it about Saturdays and Distress Inks? That's two in a row now that I've gotten all inky and made DI scenes. And I love it! This one is based on the Designer Drafts sketch at Paper Smooches Sparks:

the inside:

Here's the sketch my card is based on:

So, basically, this was made entirely with masks (using both positive and negative) and Distress Inks. When I blended the "island", I purposely didn't do the entire bottom part of the circle, so that when I went over it to blend in the water, it simply disappeared. OMGee! It looks sooooo cool! Another sentiment and the palm trees finish the inside.

Thanks for stopping by. I hope you get the chance to get crafty this weekend! Have a great evening!

Thump....

Have you ever found yourself thinking about card designs in the middle of the night, while lying in bed, because you can't sleep? Yeah, I suffer from insomnia, so it happens to me a lot. This is a card I thought about the other night. I made it, but I thought there was too much white, so I made another one. Much happier. Here's the result:

and the inside:

So, as I lay in bed, thinking about cards, I remembered I have the Borders 1 dies, which has the heart beat die included. Since Valentine's Day approaches, I figured I'd jump on the band wagon and make a Valentine's card for the hubby using that die. Then I started thinking about the stamp sentiments that would go with it. I remembered the thump sentiment and I swear I almost got up then and there to make the card. Almost. But I was nice and toasty warm under the covers and didn't want to leave my cocoon of blankets! LOL! And that first card? Here it is for your viewing pleasure:

See? Too much white. Anywhoooooo, that's it for now. Oh, and I'm entering this in the Paper Smooches Sparks - Anything Goes challenge.

Thanks for stopping by! Have a great day!

Drunken Stampers Christmas card swap, part 1

Good Morning to you all! Well, I thought it was long past due to share the cards I made for my teammies for our first Drunken Stampers card swap! I'll be posting a few per post here and there. Here is the first batch:

Here's the inside:

Yep. I made a card with Rudolph farting. LOL! I know, I'm not right in the head! My little scene was based on the inside sentiment. (Bet you won't think about that Christmas carol the same way again! HA!) This is the card I made for my evil doublemint twin, Jessi. I think I scored major points from her boys for this card! ☺ I stamped and colored the deer with SN markers. I also stamped the legs of the deer on some scrap paper, fussy cut out, and used as a mask so that I could stamp the shadow. I used the explosion stamp from the Great Chemistry set for the, ahem, gas. (Explosion indeed!) Added the alpha stickers to finish the front. The inside sentiment was printed off my computer then I stamped Merry Christmas under it. This was such a perfect card for my family, that I made two of them, and sent the other one to my brother Jim!

I'm going to enter this card for the current Paper Smooches Sparks challenge: Anything Goes.

Ok, so on to my next card. This one I made for Donna. She collects all things skulls, so of course I made a Santa skull card!

the inside of the card:

I heat embossed the skull on a white panel, framed it with some red DP, and doodled around the edges before adhering it to the card base. I've had these Santa hat stickers in my stash for at least a couple years, and this one fit the  skull perfectly! I stamped the inside and was done!

This last card I sent to Lynne. She excels at all thing crafty!

Here is the inside:

When I made this card, it was based on a sketch from Sweet Sunday Sketch. I love that cute little snowman! He's colored with Spectrum Noir markers, then I added Stickles to him and his shadow for a bit of sparkle. The strip of red card stock was dry embossed before being adhered. That snowflake is a sticker that I found in my stash. Score!

Simon Says Stamp has an embossing challenge going on at their Wednesday challenge blog, so I'm entering these two cards over there.

Well, that's it for now. I'll post more cards soon. Now it's off to take my fur baby, Colby, for a walk. Thanks for sticking it out until the end! LOL! Enjoy your day!
