Let's Shell-abrate!

 Hello and welcome!
I'm still plugging away trying to
use my new (or new to me)
stash of crafty goodies.
(Buying craft supplies and using them are two different things.)
This card combines items from
a bunch of different companies:

The stencil, sand dollar/seahorse dies, and sentiment are all new
items. I masked around the different shells to blend
different inks for different shells. Time consuming, but
I love how it looks! For the seahorse and sand dollars,
I blended the same inks onto the same cardstock, (a beige
color, because it looks like sand! LOL!) I die cut,
then left the die cut pieces in the die to blend in the darker
colors. This reminds me of looking for shells at
my favorite happy place, Topsail Island, NC.
We just came back from a little mini vacation there,
and I'm ready to go back!

Paper Players #749 has a By the Water challenge going on, so
I'm linking up there. My card is based off the current

Paper Players #748, Seize the Birthday #310, Just Us Girls #785

 Hello and welcome!
I just realized I haven't posted here in almost a month.
July was a busy month for us, what with everyday life,
the constant battle of weeding this lovely
bermuda grass out of the flower beds and veggie garden, (and with
the intense heat wave it's been slow going), and
one of my sisters flew out to visit us for 10 days.
We even took a mini trip to the beach!
First time in two years. It was heavenly!

So now I am back in my craft room, trying to
get the mojo going again. I combined a
few challenges to make this card:

I love aqua/teal/turquoise colors so that's what I
used on my card.

Seize the Birthday #310 challenges us to use our favorite
color, and I paired that with the sketch at
The Paper Players #748. Since I used a stencil on
the card base, I'm also linking this up

That's all I got for now. Thank you so much for visiting!
I hope you have a great rest of your day!

A little birdie told me...

 ...that it's your birthday!
Hello and welcome, crafty friends.
Here's another card I'd like to share with you:

I love the versatility of this bird die. I used a few shades
of teal ink to blend all the bits then assembled them.
Admittedly, this is a recent purchase, but I've paired it
with items in my stash, ranging from a few years ago
(the sentiments and stitched circle die)
to 2012 (the paper and lacey circle die).

Anther sentiment on the inside finishes this card:

There are a few challenges I'd like to enter this at:

Hummingbird birthday

 Hello and welcome!
I have a card to share that I was
working on over the weekend:

I used a brand new (to me) hummingbird layering die that
I'm so loving right now!

Shades of green and a pop of red. The ruby throated
hummingbird is the kind that I have zipping around my
hummingbird feeders. They are so much fun to watch!

Here's the finished inside:

Well, that's it for now.
Thanks for visiting. Have a great day!

You Rock

 Hello and welcome friends!
As I mentioned on this post, I needed to create
another card using the other drum set I die cut.
Ta-Da! Here it is:

For some reason, I felt compelled to use orange on this card.
Gotta say, I'm digging it! LOL!

Since I still had the stamp out, I used the same one on the inside:

I'm happy to have yet another dude card ready. 😊
Thank you for stopping by. Enjoy your day!

Easy peasy birthday card

 Hello crafty friends and welcome!
I'm sharing a quick card I made
for the current Paper Players challenge:
It's a clean and simple challenge with a flower theme.

I used an ATC for my main panel, added a thin black matte,
stamped a sentiment and that was it!

Another simple sentiment finishes the inside:

I've used products from STAMPlorations.
If you follow the blog, you'll know that the owner, Shery Russ,
has been battling a cancer diagnosis for the past year. To focus
on her health, she made the incredibly hard decision to close the
store except for a handful of bundles and the digi stamps.
She just recently received the BEST news from her
doctors! Here's a link to her blog post so you can
read it in her own words. 😍 I'm beyond excited for her!

That's all I've got for now. Thank you for visiting, and I
hope that you have a great day!

SHOPPING OUR STASH #432 - Hot Beverages for Cold Nights

Hello crafty peeps and welcome!

It's time for another challenge at

SHOPPING OUR STASH!

This fortnight, as the title suggests, we are looking for projects

that feature a hot beverage.

Here's what I came up with:

These coffee mugs were fun, and very therapeutic to color. No

shading, just coloring to color. (My inner child had fun!)

I used a stencil to emboss the aqua panel. I think that's the first time

I tried that out, and I like it. I'll be using that technique more.

We hope that you'll play along in our Hot Beverages challenge

at Shopping Our Stash. For more inspiration, do yourself a favor

and check out what my teammies created. So much crafty goodness!

Thanks for visiting. Have a great day!

Having some fun with layering stamps

Hello and happy hump day!
I was playing around with a new to me stamp set
using different color combinations for the layered
plumeria flower.
This is what came about:

and the inside:

I don't have a gazillion different ink colors so I was just using what I
had on hand. Of all the different images on this card, I really
like how the monstera palm leaf came out the best. LOL!
Are any of these lined up perfectly? Nope, but they are close
enough in my book, so they were fussy cut and arranged.
My design is based off the Paper Players #501 sketch.

Thanks for visiting. I hope you have a great day!

Supplies:
Stamps: Sunny Studio - Radiant Plumeria, Summer Sweets; MFT - Birthday Greetings
Ink: Memento - Lulu Lavender/Lilac Posies/Dandelion/Tangelo, Angel Pink/Rose Bud/Lemon Chiffon (Simon Says Stamp)/Cantaloupe/Lady Bug, Pear Tart, Cottage Ivy, Northern Pine, Bamboo Leaves, Bahama Blue; VersaMark

SHOPPING OUR STASH #413 - My Heart Is On Fire

Good Morning and welcome crafty friends!
This fortnight at SHOPPING OUR STASH,
as our theme suggests, we are
celebrating all things hearts.
For my card, I took it a bit literally and created
a grungy, heart afire card:

Sometime last year, I made a bunch of panels using different Nuance powder
dyes. I die cut my heart from one of them. For the flames, I sponged a couple
colors of Distress Inks onto some white card stock, spritzed some Granite
Glimmer Mist over it then die cut. The white panel was splattered with
black spray ink, then I stamped around the edges with my favorite
grunge stamp. A heat embossed sentiment on the banner
die completes my card.

I hope that you get a chance to play along at Shopping Our Stash!
We'd love to see how you interpret our challenge. Need more inspiration?
Simply check out the amazing projects that my teammies made!
Thanks for stopping by. Have a great day!

Shimmery snowflakes

Hello crafty friends! I had some play time up in the craft room,
and decided to use a die that I bought last month but hadn't used yet.

...well, the main panel is all shimmery, that is:

and the inside:

I made a bunch of water color-y backgrounds last year, and one of my goals this
year is to actually use them. This one is Dylusions spray inks, then pearl Glimmer Mist
over that, on mixed media paper. I edged the main panel with some black card stock strips
to make it pop more. A simple sentiment and some star shaped rhinestones in the
center of all the snowflakes finishes this card.

This card was fitting as we had our first decent snow fall yesterday. Ok, maybe it
was only about 2", but it was enough to delay school openings.
Being originally from and growing up in Illinois, I still find this completely hilarious.
(Perhaps more like ridiculous.) As a kid, if the schools closed for a snow day, it would
have had to snow at least a foot before closing was even considered. LOL!

That's all for now. Thanks for visiting. I hope you have a great day!
