It's Your Day!

 Hello and welcome crafty peeps!
I hope those of you who celebrated the 4th of July had
a fun filled day!

I have a card to share in which I tried out possibly not
quite new techniques, but they were to me. 😁

The first experiment was that gorgeous image. Towards the end of last year,
I scored a free used laser printer that a friend of my MIL's was trying to get rid of.
Right time, right place! Then it sat on my dining room table for a few months
before I rearranged my craft room a bit and also finally found a small table
that I liked that would fit the space. That was in January. Last weekend, I
finally got around to hooking it up and testing it out. (and now you know
why it takes me hours if not days to make a card. LOL!)
I printed out this mermaid as my test, and colored her
with Spectrum Noir markers and Prismacolor pencils.
O.M.G! Laser printer = GAME CHANGER!!!
No more blasting the image with my heat gun then giving
it a light coating with hairspray. (my old printer is an inkjet)
And no smearing at all!!!! I have so many digi images that I've
either bought, won, or were freebies, and I've not used most of them
because of the smearing I always got with the inkjet printer. No more!

The second experiment was grabbing my neglected gel plate, laying
a white card stock panel on it, and brayering a couple Distress Inks over the panel.
I covered it with wave stencil then brayered
another Distress Ink over it, giving it those muted stripes,
then spritzed water on the panel.

Once that dried, it was time for my third experiment.
I smeared Wild Lilac Glitz glitter gel through the fish stencil,
cleaned off the pallet knife, then went back over everything
with Turquoise Sea Glitz glitter gel. I love how all the fish
have both colors of glitter gel with some more purple and some
more turquoise!

The mermaid received a good coating of both WOS, and Nuvo Glitter
Drops in white blizzard, and once dry she was fussy cut
and adhered on the card with foam squares.
A couple small sentiment stamps finish the inside.

It took me a few days to put this together, because I'd work on it some,
then come back to it the next day. Do a bit more, and come back the
next day, etc. But I love how it turned out!

That's it for now. Thanks for visiting, and I hope you
have a wonderful day!

Joy slimline card

 Hello there and welcome.

Got a card to share that I was able to combine

some challenges for:

...and here is the inside:

I used a couple of patterned papers from an older Webster's Pages collection. The

red one has this gorgeous script that is lyrics from the song, "Do you hear what I hear?"

I matted it with black card stock, then adhered it to a scalloped gold glitter panel.

The 'JOY' was die cut three times, twice in black card stock, and once in

the music score paper. Those were stacked and glued to the card.

I gold heat embossed the smaller sentiment and used the coordinating

die to cut it out. Last year I found this package of tiny poinsettia

flowers at Tuesday Morning, and finally opened the package

for this card! Another stamped sentiment finishes the inside.

That's all for now. I hope that you are staying safe during

the pandemic, and also in this string of nasty weather too!

Thanks for visiting!

Bernie doesn't seem to like the cold weather...

 ...and neither do I.

Hello there crafty peeps! I've had some time to finally

sit and play in my craft room. I got all

the gifts bought, wrapped and sent out to my

family. The Christmas cards addressed and sent.

(no telling when any of that will actually arrive).

Did some Christmas cookie baking....and eating.

I'm afraid to get on the scale. LOL!

Anyway, here's a card I put together the other day,

but just getting around to posting about it:

Here's the inside:

This is Bernie. As I've said, he doesn't look

overly fond of the cold weather. LOL!

I've used a bunch of different shades of blue and green,

die cut and stacked the sentiment, then added

Nuvo glitter drops over that and the pom poms on his hat.

Here in the mid-Atlantic, we just squeaked by in only getting a couple inches

of snow from Winter Storm Gail. (although it turned to

sleet then refroze. Ugh)  How'd you all make out?

I hope that you have a relaxing day today.

Thanks for stopping by!

SISTERHOOD OF SNARKY STAMPERS #163 - W is for Water

Good morning and welcome snarky peeps!
It's time again for the new challenge at the
This fortnight we want to see your water themed projects.
That could be an ocean scene, something to do with bathing,
beverages of some kind. Lots of possibilities!
I went with an underwater scene for my card:

Here's the inside:

I used Distress Inks for my ocean background, and using a great tip
from Barbara Anders post, I used white acrylic paint and a stencil
for the sun rays. I also did something that I rarely do: use a purchased item
right away, instead of letting it sit on my desk for a month, or more. The
NBUS items are the shark die and the sentiments. Just look at that
creepy/cute shark! I just had to use it right away!

Now it's your turn to create something watery, and link up at the
We can't wait to see what you come up with. For more ideas, simply visit

SISTERHOOD OF SNARKY STAMPERS #161 - I is for Inks

Look at those awesome sleeves Edna is sporting! That's a lot of ink,
which happens to be the new challenge starting at the
Let's see what you can do with your ginormous stash of ink pads/sprays!

Here's a little something I whipped up:

shiny embossing!

and the inside:

The panel was created by pressing Distress Ink pads directly to the stencil, spritzing
with water, and flipping it onto some mixed media paper. I put a paper towel
over it and applied some pressure before carefully peeling up the stencil.
Once that dried, I dipped a toothbrush in the Dylusions black ink spray bottle
and splattered it. The image and sentiment were stamped and heat
embossed in black. I went around the edges of the panel with some more
Vintage Photo to grunge it up a bit more.

And since I liked how the panel came out, I made another one:

and the inside:

Yep, there's more of me. I have two brothers and two sisters, and we've
all been blessed with a snarky, sarcastic sense of humor.
This will go to my younger brother in a couple months. He's
going to love it!  LOL!

Now it's your turn. Let's see what you can do with your inks and link

Bouncy, bouncy, bouncy!

Hello crafty friends and happy Friday.
I hope that you are all doing well and keeping safe
in these crazy times!
I'm finding that my mojo has been lacking as of late. Anyone else?
I seem to be starting a card, then not getting back to it for a few
days later....when the challenge I'm thinking of entering it
in has ended. Ugh!
Here's one of them:

and the inside:

This was the first time that these stamps were inked. Can you believe it?!
My card was based off of the now ended Freshly Made Sketch #428. Yep,
I started this at the 11th hour on Monday, and only got back to
finishing it today. I did have a minor glitch when first coloring....

Last week I took some time to refill about 20 of my markers. Apparently,
the one I used for the bunny's rosy cheeks was a bit over filled. Oops.
Then my mojo walked out until this afternoon, and I was
finally able to complete the card. Yay!

Well, that's it for now. Please stop by tomorrow as
the new challenge at the Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers starts.
and you won't want to miss it!

Thanks for visiting. Have a wonderful evening!

Using those tiny stamps

Hello and happy Fri-Yay!!
I've got a fun card I want to share with you:

Here is the inside, using a couple more of the stamps:

The main panel is all one layer. After die cutting it, I masked off where I wanted
the stamps to be. Once positioned where I wanted them, I stamped then colored
the images. Keeping the mask in place, I used a gray marker to color around
everything. I used a fine tip marker to add random dots to fill up more space.
All the colored images have a coating of Wink of Stella on them, but with my
crack photography skillz, you can't see it at all. (grin!)
Aannndddd that's another birthday card made. Go me! LOL!
That's all for now. Thanks for visiting.
Have a great rest of your day!

SHOPPING OUR STASH #413 - My Heart Is On Fire

Good Morning and welcome crafty friends!
This fortnight at SHOPPING OUR STASH,
as our theme suggests, we are
celebrating all things hearts.
For my card, I took it a bit literally and created
a grungy, heart afire card:

Sometime last year, I made a bunch of panels using different Nuance powder
dyes. I die cut my heart from one of them. For the flames, I sponged a couple
colors of Distress Inks onto some white card stock, spritzed some Granite
Glimmer Mist over it then die cut. The white panel was splattered with
black spray ink, then I stamped around the edges with my favorite
grunge stamp. A heat embossed sentiment on the banner
die completes my card.

I hope that you get a chance to play along at Shopping Our Stash!
We'd love to see how you interpret our challenge. Need more inspiration?
Simply check out the amazing projects that my teammies made!
Thanks for stopping by. Have a great day!
