SHOPPING OUR STASH #451 - Let's Get Sketchy

Good morning and welcome crafty friends!
Happy August to you, (can you believe it's August already?!).
We have a fun new challenge starting over at
Donna is your Hostess this fortnight, and she's found a
link to some free sketches from Craft With Sarah. There are four
sketches to choose from, so have fun and I hope you play along!
I've chosen to use the first sketch for my card:

I tweaked the measurements some to fit an A2 sized card,
but I followed the sketch pretty closely otherwise:

Here's the inside:

Boy did I shop my paper stash for this. Most of the papers used are
15 plus years old! The paper flowers were a score last
year at Tuesday Morning, (before they sadly went out
of business). so you know they are even older than a year.
I hope you can join us this fortnight at Shopping Our Stash,
and create a card using one of the four sketches.
Thanks for visiting. Have a great day!

Christmas wreath

Hello there, I'm back with another card:

Here's the inside:

It's hard to tell from my excellent photography skills, but the green paper I

used to cut the wreath from is pre-glittered, for some extra sparkle.

A simple sentiment finishes the inside.

Guess I should get off my butt and get some things done. LOL!

Thanks for visiting. Have a great day!

SHOPPING OUR STASH #283 - Winter Wonderland

Hello crafty peeps! Are you all done with all of your holiday shopping and card making? I still have a couple items to get, then I'm done. Well.... I still need to wrap the presents I've bought, but other than that, I'm done. LOL!

For our last challenge of the year at SHOPPING OUR STASH, we want to see your Winter themed cards or projects, but not Christmas themed. Here's what I came up with:

here's the inside with a bit of snark...

I was lamenting a few posts back about the fact that I have no silver foil paper. Well, when I was searching through all my paper, I came across this holographic silver snowflake paper that I've had for a couple years at least, but it was hidden by other papers. Score!! I used a couple rectangle dies to make a frame out of it. I used my MISTI to line up the word stamps (each word is a separate stamp), stamped in Versamark ink and heat embossed in white EP. The snow globe is a new purchase, but it worked well for this challenge. I backed a scrap of white CS with an adhesive transfer sheet before die cutting it. Then all I had to do was peel off the backing sheet and stick it on my card.

We hope that you have a chance in your busy holiday schedule to play along this week at Shopping Our Stash! This is our last challenge for 2016, but we'll be back on January 3rd with a new challenge! I'd also like to say thank you to our Guest Designer, Beth, for joining the SOS Crew this month! It was a pleasure to have you create with us, and we hope to see your fabulous creations in our gallery in the future!

Just a reminder: We are looking for Guest Designers! If you would like to be considered for January, simply leave a 'DT' after your name when you link up! Super easy.

I wish you all happy holidays and all the best for 2017!

Just Us Girls #372 - Word Week

Hello and welcome crafty friends! It's Word Week at JUST US GIRLS! Nancy is your hostess this week and she challenges you to add a Christmas tree to you card or project! Here's my card:

 Here is the inside:

I apologize for the not so good pics. Life got in the way this week, and yesterday was the first time I got to play in my craft room all week. I was running late and lost daylight by the time I finished my card. The good thing was that I got to try out a new (to me) stamp set for the first time. The tree is my first layering stamp set, and I think I'm going to be needing more of these! LOL! Soooo much fun to play with!

I hope you get a chance to play along this week at Just Us Girls! For more inspiration, check out what my teammates have created and leave them some bloggy love. Also, since it's a new month, we have a new Guest Designer! Welcome Theresa Gregory! Looking forward to seeing what you create with the JUGS team!

Just a reminder: If you are picked as Chic of the Week for any of our December challenges, you'll be in the running to be our Guest Designer for the month of January! Good luck and happy crafting!

SISTERHOOD OF SNARKY STAMPERS #64 R is for Resist Technique

Hello and welcome snarky peeps! I'm back from vacation and perhaps now I'll be able to catch up on commenting. (wink wink) As Edna is showing us in the awesome graphic above, our new challenge at the Sisterhood is to use the Resist Technique on your card or project. There are a boat load of video tutorials out there on Mr. Google, so if you haven't tried this before, never fear, just Google it! LOL!
Here's my card:

and the inside:

No snark on this card. It's all warm and toasty feely. I heat embossed the pine bough in white EP, then sponged Pine Needles DI over it, making it darker around the image. Then I smooshed Iced Spruce DI on my craft mat, spritzed with water, and flicked that on the panel with a paint brush.

Now it's your turn to try out the resist technique! We'd love to see what you come up with. Just link up at the Sisterhood so we can admire it! Need more inspiration? Then please visit the blogs of my Sistahs and our Guest Designer, Helen, and be sure to leave them some bloggy lovin! Thanks for hanging out!

SHOPPING OUR STASH #261 - You Are Matchless

Hello and good morning! I'm late with getting my card made and uploaded to the challenge blog, but it's there now. Hubby and I just came back from our vacation late Sunday night. I knew I'd be making a card yesterday, but I only sat down to make it last night. Had to wait for daylight to take a decent picture.

So what is this new challenge about at SHOPPING OUR STASH? Well, we want you to create your own matchbox/matchbook! I was a little leery of this one, but once I got started, my card came together pretty quickly. (It also helped that I used an image that I colored when I was on vacation. ☺)

 Here's the inside:

I was stumped as to what to use for the triangle elements, but then hubby suggested gold or silver - brilliant! (of course, gold foil cardstock is incredibly hard to photograph. sigh) Anyhooo, once I had the card made, I used a bit of twine to keep the matchbook flap closed.

So, now it's your turn. Ready to try your hand at a matchbook or matchbox project? Of course you are! Just be sure to link up at Shopping Our Stash so we can admire it! Need more inspiration? Just visit my teammates blogs and leave them some bloggy lovin' while there. Thanks for visiting!

Thinking of you....

I am over the top excited to be the guest star stamper this week for Color Throwdown #281! A first for me - it's a big deal! (Still having to pinch myself from time to time!) ☺ Ok, I know, enough with the gushing. (wink!) This week, the colors are Black, So Saffron, and Tangerine Tango. As always, if you don't have the exact colors, no problem, just use whatever you have that's close. The CTD team are really layed back that way!

Isn't that a gorgeous sunset? I wouldn't mind being on that beach right about now. I've had enough of winter! LOL! Here is what I did for the challenge:

I tried the iris folding technique, for the first time ever! (Why did I wait so long to try this out? It looks so hard to do, yet it's incredibly easy. Facepalm!) I used two different patterned papers each for the saffron and tangerine colors. I die cut the butterfly on the main panel and trimmed the outer edges slightly smaller than the black card base. I colored the edge of the butterfly with a black marker, stamped the sentiment, then got to work on the paper folding. Drew the antennae and added black rhinestones at the tips, then doubled up the foam squares to attach the main panel to the card base. I just love how this turned out!

I hope that you get a chance to play along this week at the Color Throwdown! Thanks for hanging out with me and I hope you have a fantastic day! Stay crafty my friends!
