It's time for the May Theme & Sketch Challenge at STAMPlorations!

Hello and welcome crafty friends!
Today is the start of the
May Theme & Sketch Challenge at STAMPlorations!

Here are the theme and sketch for the month:

For my card, I've used a very loose interpretation of the sketch:

(But you can totally see the sketch in my card, right? *grin!*)
I started by cutting a panel from the
Crazy double running stitch rectangle nesting die
and sponging yellow and green inks through the
Rose Duet stencil.
I die cut the Fabulous word die twice, one from black card stock and
one from a yellow polka dotted paper. I stacked and glued them offset
then added Diamond Crystal Stickles to it. Once that dried, I
stamped the 'you are' and 'mom' from the
It's all about you stamp set.

I hope you get a chance to join the STAMPgirls this month and

STAMPlorations April Theme & Sketch Challenge!

Hello and welcome crafty friends!
It's a new month and so time for the next

I think you'll agree that Shery picked a spot on, trendy
theme this month:

There's many ways you can get a watercolor effect.
(I used powder inks on my projects, as you'll see below!)
But there is always the option of using just the sketch on your project:

Or, you can go all wild and choose to use both theme and sketch, as I've done:

I started by placing one of the reindeer masks from the
ARTplorations Christmas Reindeer on mixed media paper,
sprinkling a couple colors of powder dyes on and around it, then
spritzing with water. Being careful, I removed the mask, flipped it over
and pressed it onto another panel. (I couldn't let all that
extra powder ink go to waste!) Setting those aside to dry,
I die cut all three CUTplorations Bloomdala Bliss - Festive dies,
glued a portion of them onto my card base then trimmed.
I used the off cuts for my other card.
Lastly, I stamped a sentiment from the Holiday Expressions - Yuletide Cheer
stamp set over the reindeer, plus another one on the inside to finish my cards.

Here's what the second card looks like:

...and how both cards are finished on the inside:

So now it's your turn! Come join the STAMPgirls this month by playing
along at the STAMPlorations Theme & Sketch Challenge! Who knows,

STAMPlorations March Theme & Sketch Challenge!

Hello crafty peeps and welcome back!
It's a new month, so it's time for a new

Here are this month's theme & sketch:

As always, you can work with just the theme, just the sketch, or use both!
I've used both for my card:

I've used two of the coffee cups from the Happy Zen Coffee Cups set, colored with
Prismacolor pencils and fussy cut. On the main panel I lightly sponged
some pink ink over the Emanations ARTplorations stencil then stamped
one of the sentiments from the Literary Caffeine-ations set. The panel
was adhered onto my red card base with foam squares, as were the coffee cups.

This is such a fun sketch and great theme, so I hope that you find some
time this month to play along and link up at the

STAMPlorations February Theme & Sketch Challenge!

Hello and happy Friday to you!
It's time for the February

Below is the sketch, and your theme this month is Stamps & Hearts,
just in time for Valentine's Day!

I've used just the theme this time around for my card:

I started by cutting my panel from the Crazy Double Running Stitch Rectangle Nesting die.
I then placed the Zen Hearts stencil over it and sponged some pink and purple
inks through it. The panel was dry embossed using a folder frame to leave the center of the
panel flat. Using the Say It Big-Do What You Love stamp, I stamped in black ink then
over it with versamark, and embossed it with clear embossing powder. I found some
much neglected metal heart stickers in my stash that matched perfectly with my
color scheme. Woo Hoo! Bonus!

I hope you get a chance this month to make a project and link up at

It's time for STAMPlorations January Theme & Sketch Challenge!

Welcome and Happy 2019 to you, my friends!
I hope that your holidays were happy and relaxing.
It's a new year, a new month, and a new

I've combined both the theme and sketch for my card:

here's the inside:

I started with a panel die cut using the Crazy Double Running Stitch Rectangle Nesting die
and stamped around the edges using an image from the Mixed Media Grunge set.
I stamped the postage stamp image twice, on kraft and white card stock, from the
Gone Postal set. On the white image, I sponged a light green ink over it then stenciled
the Leaves 1 ARTplorations stencil in a darker green. The inside of the stamped
image was fussy cut along with the image in kraft. Setting those aside, I stamped,
colored and fussy cut the deer from the Woodland Friends set.
I stamped the Say It Big - Choose Happy sentiment, along with the postmark from
the Gone Postal set, arranged the postage stamp and deer and adhered using
foam tape. The inside sentiment is one from the Woodland Friends set.

STAMPlorations December Theme & Sketch Challenge

Hello and welcome back crafty peeps!
It's a new month, the LAST month of the year.
HOW did that happen?!!

Today starts the new Theme & Sketch Challenge

For my card, this time I've only used the Theme:

I love these Typographia stamps. They do all the work for you. LOL!
I've used the Typographia Christmas-Build a Snowman stamp which
is stamped onto a panel cut from one of the crazy double running stitch rectangle nesting dies.
I doodled around the edge of the patterned paper and the word 'meadow' with a silver
Gelly Roll pen for a bit of glitz, and finished it with a sparkly snowflake
sticker from my stash.

I hope you find some time during this busy holiday season to

Time for the November Theme & Sketch Challenge at STAMPlorations!

Good morning and welcome friends!
It's a new month and time for the November
The theme is stamps and rainbows

and here is the fun sketch:
I decided to use both theme and sketch on my card:

Who wouldn't love to receive a rainbow wrapped present?!

I created my present using the Gift Builder #1 CUTplorations die with that
fun multi-colored paper. I used one of the stamps from the
Art Marks stamp set behind the gift, and stamped the Happy
Birthday from the Sketched: Simple Gift stamp set. The
present is adhered with foam squares for more dimension.

Here are some details to keep in mind:

  • Players can link up to 6 projects -- any type of project is welcome as long as there is stamping.
  • Projects must be based on the theme, sketch, or both.

STAMPlorations October Theme & Sketch Challenge!

Hello and welcome crafty friends!
It's October and that means the monthly challenges at
STAMPlorations are beginning again! Yay!

Today starts the new Theme & Sketch Challenge!
The theme for October is 'Stamps & Autumn', and below is the sketch:

You'll see that most of my teammates used leaves on their projects.
Me? When I think Autumn, the first thing that comes to mind is
Halloween - my all time favorite holiday! LOL!
Using both the theme and sketch, this is what I created:

I started by sponging purple ink over the Cobweb ARTplorations stencil on
the bottom part of my panel. Next I stamped the big eyed robot from the Big Robots stamp
set, colored the head, fussy cut and added Glossy Accents to the eye. While this dried,
I did some major masking using an 'e' and 'k' from the Big Greetings stamp set.
I colored the words in an ombre way using yellow and green Prismacolor pencils.
Once the Glossy Accents dried, I adhered the 'spider body' onto my card, drew the
legs, and adhered the sentiment and googly eyes. It's such a thrill when you
figure out a way to use stamps in a completely different way!

Ready to play along? I KNOW you are!
For a chance at winning some great prizes, here are a
few things to keep in mind:

  • Link up any type of project(s) based on the theme, the sketch, or both.
  • You must use stamps in your project(s) -- rubber, clear, or digi from any company. Non-STAMPlorations stamps are OK.
  • Link up to 6 entries and link up to as many other challenges as you want.
  • You must display the challenge graphic in your post (if linking from your blog) and link back to the challenge post (not just the main blog) in order to be eligible to win (and receive the corresponding prize).
  • Link up by the last day of the month, 11:55 p.m. Pacific.

time to play along in the Theme & Sketch challenge!

STAMPlorations May Theme & Sketch Challenge Reminder

Hi there crafty friends!
Just popping in with a reminder about the
(No sketch this month, but the theme is anything with wings!)
I've made another birthday card, because, we all need them! LOL!

Here's the finished inside:

I started with a grey card base and used one of the stamps from the
Mixed Media Elements set to stamp the stripes along the one edge. I cut
a piece of DP a bit shorter than the card base and stamped the Happy Birthday
sentiment from the Balloons and Banners set using my MISTI.
I cut a banner from a scrap of DP and stamped another mixed media image around
the edges then adhered. I had some gelli prints needing some use,
so I used one of them to cut my dragonflies from.
The larger dragonfly was die cut using the solid die from the Dragonfly Layering Dies set
and I doodled the shape with a black PITT pen. The smaller dragonfly was stamped
from the Winged Things stamp set and fussy cut. I added some shimmer to both
with a Wink of Stella pen.

Ooh! Shimmery!

The inside uses a couple more stamps from the same stamp sets.

There's still plenty of time to link up your winged thing projects at the
to seeing what you come up with!

STAMPlorations May Theme & Sketch Challenge

Hello and welcome crafty friends!
It's the month of May, and that means it's time for
We are starting back with the 5 separate challenges...sort of!
All challenges have the same theme: Winged Things. Simply make
something incorporating something with wings for any (or all!)
of the challenges for a chance at winning some goodies!
This month's Theme & Sketch has no sketch, just the theme,
so anything goes with wings on it!

Here's the card I made:

and the inside:

I started by adding red, yellow, and blue inks directly onto the
spritzing with water, and laying some white card stock over it, lightly pressing
around the mask. The water let's the inks blend with each other.
I lifted the card off and splattered some watered down red and yellow inks.
Once dry, I cut the panel to size, then stamped over some of the butterfly shapes
using the Trendy Butterflies set using the same blue ink. The sentiment was
stamped using the Trendy Butterflies 2 set. The inside panel was stamped using
the Blossom Overture set, then both panels were adhered to a navy blue card base.

I'm looking forward to seeing what you all create with wings! Don't forget
to link up at the STAMPlorations Theme & Sketch Challenge for a chance
at winning some awesome prizes!

Mixed Media HBD tag card

Hiya crafty peeps!
I was making colorful water color panels using Magenta Nuance powder dyes,
and would like to share one of the outcomes:

 Here's the inside:

I combined Nuance powder dyes in Old Yellow, Scarlet, and Raspberry. Once dry, over that
I stenciled confetti circles in neon green ink. Next I stamped a few images using three different
inks for each image. My card base is stenciled using Walnut Stain DI, and I also edged the tag
with it too. The sentiment was gold embossed onto dark brown card stock. Some
brown twine and another stamped sentiment finishes the inside.

So much fun to make!
Well, that's all for now. Thanks for visiting,
and I hope you have a great day!
