An outdoorsy themed birthday card

 Hello and happy Friday!
Here's a fun guy card I came up with:

The woodgrain embossing folder I used is a great
backdrop for the tree and deer silhouettes, I think, IMHO.
Some snippets of paper and a sentiment
is all that was needed to finish my card.

Sorry for the weird lighting in my photos.
I just bought a light box and am still
trying to figure it out. LOL!

My card uses the current sketch at Freshly Made Sketches #697,
and since it's a birthday card, I'm also entering this at

That's all for now. I hope that you have a great weekend.
Thanks for stopping by!

Christmas in...June?

Hey all, I'm back with my second post today.
I'll make this quick since one of the challenges I want to
join in on is about to end. ;)
Here's a guy card using a new to me technique:

Here's the inside:

The technique is called Triple Time Stamping. First time I've tried this,
and I plan to make more cards using it. I've followed the tutorial
from this video, just making slight adjustments to the layer dimensions to
fit my card. I also made it much easier by using one big stamp. Another
bonus was that I already had the sentiment strip embossed and
ready to use. Yay me!

Got to go enter this now before time's up.
Thanks for visiting! Have a great day!

SISTERHOOD OF SNARKY STAMPERS #140 - S is for Sea

(Shout out to Sister Lee for her astonishing graphic arts skillz!)

Hello and happy Saturday to you.
It's time for the new challenge at the
This fortnight is brought to you by the
letter S, as in SEA!
We want to see your ocean themed projects.
This is a card I made for one of my sisters a couple months
ago, but it fit this challenge so perfectly that I saved
posting about it until now. LOL!

and the inside:

I bought the fish scale plate and the mermaid stamp earlier this year, and
this was the first time using them. I started by creating my underwater
background using Dylusions spray inks on watercolor paper, then adding
some Aquamarine Glimmer Mist over that for additional sparkle.
While that dried, I colored and fussy cut my mermaid, and die cut the fish
scale plate. I added some Diamond Stickles to the centers of the flowers
in her hair, and added Wink of Stella to her bottom half.
This card is sooooo shimmery IRL!! I cut up a group of rhinestones
and added them because to me they looked like air bubbles.
A simple sentiment on the inside finishes my card.

I hope that you find some time to play along in our Sea challenge
at the Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers! We'd love to sea what you
come up with. My Sisters and our reigning Queen Rina have created some fabulous underwater
masterpieces, so please visit their blogs to check them out.
Thanks for stopping by. Have a fabulous day!

SHOPPING OUR STASH #392 - Make an ATC

Hello and happy Tuesday to you all!
It's time for a new challenge at
This fortnight we are challenging you to step outside your
comfort zone and make an ATC, either a card or coin!

Here's my Artist Trading Card:

Grab your favorite beverage, this is a photo heavy post!
I started by cutting my ATC's from recycled cardboard (2-1/2" x 3-1/2")
and gave the front sides a coat of Gesso.

I cut a mop up paper towel that had Dylusions spray inks on them,
and adhered to the card with clear gesso.

After dry and the edges were trimmed, I went over the cards with crackle embossing
paste and a heart stencil. While drying, I die cut some mermaid silhouettes from black
card stock, and Winked all of them for some shimmer.

To make sure the edges didn't tear, and to add a border, I used my finger and painted
gold paint around the edges.

I printed out my sentiment on the computer, doodled around the words and cut out.
The mermaids and sentiments are adhered with foam squares, then I added some
ancient bling from my stash for more sparkle.

You can kind of see the shimmer on the mermaid below and how the gold shines.
I love the added texture from the paper towel!

Yay! You made it to the end!
I hope that you find some time to play along in our ATC challenge at
Shopping Our Stash! We look forward to seeing what you create.
Need more ideas? Simply visit the blogs of my teammies to see

SHOPPING OUR STASH #283 - Winter Wonderland

Hello crafty peeps! Are you all done with all of your holiday shopping and card making? I still have a couple items to get, then I'm done. Well.... I still need to wrap the presents I've bought, but other than that, I'm done. LOL!

For our last challenge of the year at SHOPPING OUR STASH, we want to see your Winter themed cards or projects, but not Christmas themed. Here's what I came up with:

here's the inside with a bit of snark...

I was lamenting a few posts back about the fact that I have no silver foil paper. Well, when I was searching through all my paper, I came across this holographic silver snowflake paper that I've had for a couple years at least, but it was hidden by other papers. Score!! I used a couple rectangle dies to make a frame out of it. I used my MISTI to line up the word stamps (each word is a separate stamp), stamped in Versamark ink and heat embossed in white EP. The snow globe is a new purchase, but it worked well for this challenge. I backed a scrap of white CS with an adhesive transfer sheet before die cutting it. Then all I had to do was peel off the backing sheet and stick it on my card.

We hope that you have a chance in your busy holiday schedule to play along this week at Shopping Our Stash! This is our last challenge for 2016, but we'll be back on January 3rd with a new challenge! I'd also like to say thank you to our Guest Designer, Beth, for joining the SOS Crew this month! It was a pleasure to have you create with us, and we hope to see your fabulous creations in our gallery in the future!

Just a reminder: We are looking for Guest Designers! If you would like to be considered for January, simply leave a 'DT' after your name when you link up! Super easy.

I wish you all happy holidays and all the best for 2017!
