SHOPPING OUR STASH #452 - Wood You Believe?

Good Tuesday morning to you, crafty friends, and welcome!
Today starts the new challenge at SHOPPING OUR STASH!
This fortnight, as the title prompt indicates, we are looking for your
projects that have some type of wood items on it. It could be
designer paper, wood grain embossing folders or stencils, wooden
chipboard items, anything like that.

Here's what I came up with:

and the inside:

On my card, I used a wood grain EF then took a gray ink pad directly to
the raised design to bring it out. Over that, a piece of weathered wood DP.
I thought a nice frosty mug of beer would be the perfect
addition to this masculine card, not to mention a fun sentiment.

I hope that you find some time to play along in our wood challenge
at Shopping Our Stash! We'd love to see your take on it.
Thanks for visiting. Have a great day!

What to do when it's snowing out...

 ....make cards, of course.

Here's one:

and a little snark on the inside:

I couldn't resist that sentiment. My hubby plays golf and I had him

in mind to give this to. LOL!

Happy Haunting

 Hello and welcome!

I'm popping in with another card. Check it:

Here's the inside:

I colored these cute zombies while on vacation last month, and thought

it was high time to get them onto a card. I used papers from a

new (to me) paper collection and had fun piecing them together.

For a little extra something, I added Glossy Accents over their eyes.

That mottled, decaying green complexion is so popular this time of year! LOL!

Thanks for visiting. I hope you have a wonderful day!

Happy Tuesday to you and welcome!

It's time for a new challenge at

SHOPPING OUR STASH!

I'm your hostess this fortnight. The cooler temps and turning of the

leaves have inspired this challenge. We are looking for your

Autumn themed/Autumn holiday projects!

Be it Thanksgiving, Halloween, a fall birthday or thank you card, we want

to see it! Here's what I came up with:

Here's the inside:

Admittedly, this is a new stamp set, but just look at that

adorable fox image! The papers that I used are at least 6 years old,

and of course the oval dies are probably one of the first ones I bought.

I hope that you find some time to join us in our Fall themed

challenge at Shopping Our Stash!

We'd love to see how you interpret it. For more ideas, simply visit

the blogs of my teammies to see what fantastic creations

SHOPPING OUR STASH #413 - My Heart Is On Fire

Good Morning and welcome crafty friends!
This fortnight at SHOPPING OUR STASH,
as our theme suggests, we are
celebrating all things hearts.
For my card, I took it a bit literally and created
a grungy, heart afire card:

Sometime last year, I made a bunch of panels using different Nuance powder
dyes. I die cut my heart from one of them. For the flames, I sponged a couple
colors of Distress Inks onto some white card stock, spritzed some Granite
Glimmer Mist over it then die cut. The white panel was splattered with
black spray ink, then I stamped around the edges with my favorite
grunge stamp. A heat embossed sentiment on the banner
die completes my card.

I hope that you get a chance to play along at Shopping Our Stash!
We'd love to see how you interpret our challenge. Need more inspiration?
Simply check out the amazing projects that my teammies made!
Thanks for stopping by. Have a great day!

SHOPPING OUR STASH #412 - Winter Blues

Good morning and welcome back, crafty friends!
Today starts the new challenge at SHOPPING OUR STASH!
For the next two weeks, we want to see your
WINTER BLUES.
You can make something Winter related and/or use the color blue
predominately on your projects.
My card doesn't seem to have a whole lot of blue on it, but it does.
I didn't have any dye inks in my stash that seemed to go together well.
(trust me, I tried all the combinations. Nothing looked good to me)
I wound up using second generation stamping for the flower outline, then stamped
the stippled layers in first generation. To give them more of a blue tinge, I used
a very light blue Spectrum Noir marker to add even more color. The
leaves were done kind of opposite: I stamped normally the outlines, then triple
stamped the stippled layer in the same ink. Again using a very light gray marker
to add more detail. The matte and oval frame are blue card stock IRL, but with
my crack photography skillz, they look black.

Here's what the inside looks like:

A detail shot:
(pay no attention to the fact that I couldn't line up the layer stamps
correctly to save my life)

Now it's your turn! What does Winter blues mean to you? Show us
by linking up to the Shopping Our Stash gallery!
For more inspiration, do yourself a favor and check out what my
teammies created. Soooo fantastic!
Thanks for visiting. Have a great day!

Happy Birthday deer...

Hello and welcome crafty peeps!
Popping in with a very CAS card for me. (You know
how I love my layers!)

This is even, almost, a one layer card. Who am I?!!

I masked off the top and bottom of the card, then sponged a couple green inks
through the tree stencil. I bought this stencil about a year ago, (I looked it up),
and I can't believe this is the first time using it. (I checked my blog. Yep, first time!)
Before I removed the masking tape, I lined the top and bottom with a copper marker,
using the edge as a guide. I stamped, colored and fussy cut the deer and adhered
with foam squares. Finished with a simple sentiment. A very CAS guy card!

Well, the breakfast dishes are calling. and the maid needs to get off
her butt and wash them. (Yeah. I'm the maid. sigh)

Have a great day, and thanks for visiting!

Birthday Fishes

Hello and good Sunday to you, crafty friends!
I have a card to share that I made, which I'm
pleased to have been able to link up to a few challenges with:

The main panel is mixed media paper that I used the paper towel transfer technique on.

I'm pretty sure this towel has Dylusions spray inks and Tattered Angels Glimmer Mists
sprayed on it. Here's a close up picture that shows how the design in the paper towel
transferred to the panel:

I tried to get a close up of how the 'water' shimmers from the glimmer mist:
Pretty cool!

I die cut and colored my fish, then once the panel was completely dry, stamped
the sentiment wonky. The fish were adhered with foam squares.

This was a fun technique, and I'll be making more panels using it.
(I just have to remember to wear latex gloves otherwise my fingertips
will pick up the inks from the towel. Ask me how I know.)

Thanks for visiting. I hope you have a great rest of the day!
