Another Christmas card in July...

Hi there friends and welcome.
I'm popping in with a quick post about a
Christmas card I made, like, 4 days ago and am only
blogging about it now. At the 11th hour.
Again. LOL!

and the inside:

This is one of those cards that I would file under "meh", but
I did have fun using a boat load of dies on this, so there's that.

I'm combining two challenges with this card: the just about ended

My inspiration was the embroidery hoops hanging over the mantel.
I combined the 'JOY' from the first one and the design of the last one,
switching out stars for the pompoms.
Before I glued the bow on, I gave the stars and banner a generous coating of
Nuvo glitter drops, because, sparkle!

That's all for now. Gotta get this entered. LOL!
Thanks for popping by!

SISTERHOOD OF SNARKY STAMPERS #64 R is for Resist Technique

Hello and welcome snarky peeps! I'm back from vacation and perhaps now I'll be able to catch up on commenting. (wink wink) As Edna is showing us in the awesome graphic above, our new challenge at the Sisterhood is to use the Resist Technique on your card or project. There are a boat load of video tutorials out there on Mr. Google, so if you haven't tried this before, never fear, just Google it! LOL!
Here's my card:

and the inside:

No snark on this card. It's all warm and toasty feely. I heat embossed the pine bough in white EP, then sponged Pine Needles DI over it, making it darker around the image. Then I smooshed Iced Spruce DI on my craft mat, spritzed with water, and flicked that on the panel with a paint brush.

Now it's your turn to try out the resist technique! We'd love to see what you come up with. Just link up at the Sisterhood so we can admire it! Need more inspiration? Then please visit the blogs of my Sistahs and our Guest Designer, Helen, and be sure to leave them some bloggy lovin! Thanks for hanging out!

I'd like to enter this at Jingle Belles - sketch challenge

Another Christmas card done...

Hello crafty peeps! I have a quick card to share:

 Here's the inside:

I colored this cutie up and added Glossy Accents to her eyes and the bulbs (then proceeded to accidentally smear some of the bulbs - rolls eyes and shakes head). The sentiment was heat embossed for some added shininess, though you can't see it in this photo. But it does. For real.  ☺

That's it for me. Back to life. Gotta go walk the fur baby! Thanks for stopping by, and I hope you have a great day!

White space makes me all itchy....

I made this very CAS card, that has a lot of white space on it. It's practically making me break out in hives. Luckily, I have my beloved layers to save me. Check it:

 and the inside:

I'm joining the fun at Jingle Belles - Here We Come a Washi-ing. I used some green and blue washi, a dimensional snowman sticker (that I've had for 5 years) and a couple simple sentiments finish the card. Lots. Of. White. Space! ACK!

I just noticed that the last few cards I've made have blue or green predominately on them. Guess I was really sick of all the red/pink/purple/Valentine's theme stuff! LOL!

Have a great day!

Supplies:
Stamps: Some Odd Girl - Snow Bunny, Holideer
Ink: Memento - Nautical Blue
CS: Darice
Accessories: Recollections - washi tape; Jolee's - snowman/snowflake stickers

Pink Christmas! ♥

Hello and good morning crafty peeps! I have a card I want to share with you that I've made for a most important challenge: JINGLE BELLES! In honor of Breast Cancer Awareness month, Lauren and Stephanie will donate $2 each for every Christmas card entered. The catch? Your new card has to have some notable pink on it!

The "Pink Christmas" prompt will run at JINGLE BELLES from 12am on Friday, October 10th to 6pm on Wednesday, October 22nd; as in previous years, Stephanie and Lauren pledge to donate $4 per linked-up card to The Susan G. Komen Foundation.

The only requirement is that all link-ups be NEW holiday cards with some noticeable pink on them... so in other words, not just Rudolph's NOSE, lol!

Participants may use sketches, combine challenges, and include any other colors in addition to pink; you can showcase however many cards you'd like in one post, don't worry, we'll still count every single one of them towards the total!

Thank you very much for your support!
♥♥♥

Can't say it any better than that! Ok, so on to my card:

 Here is the inside:

I die cut three of the poinsettia backgrounds (2 vanilla cs, 1 green scrap dp), and 2 of the outlines in the same pink background paper). After gluing the outlines on the backgrounds, I went over it with diamond Stickles. While that was drying, I distressed the green leaves and inked the edges with antique linen DI. I did the same for the pink panel. I heat embossed both sentiments in Champagne EP. Before gluing down the poinsettia, I dug in a box of rarely used goodies, and found some of this gold netting to pop out from under it. Score! The flower is finished with a pink rhinestone. I love the shabby chic look to this card!

Now, it's time for you to make a pink Christmas card! (or as many as you want!) It's for a great cause! Stephanie and Lauren are hoping to reach $500, so let's make that goal happen! WE CAN DO IT!!

Thanks for stopping by, and I hope you have a fantastic day!

Chris

SISTERHOOD OF SNARKY STAMPERS #16 - O is for One (color)

Good Saturday morning to you! It's time for another fun challenge at the SISTERHOOD OF SNARKY STAMPERS! This fortnight, we challenge you to make a card or project using ONE color. You can use neutrals in your project (white, kraft, beige, black), but make sure your focal color is predominant. Here's the card I made:

 Here is the inside:

I chose to use gold as my color. This card turned out so much better than I imagined, that I couldn't bare to snark up the inside. ;) I used a NBUS stamp and heat embossed it in gold. It was an experiment, since it's really detailed, and I wasn't sure if the embossing would blur it out or not. I think it turned out pretty good! The card base is covered with a panel of gold glitter paper, then the main panel on top of that. I had that little bitty extra space at the bottom, so I broke out the Sew Easy and sewed on a gold snowflake border. Kinda went well with the snow scene, I thought. ☺ The sentiment on the inside is also heat embossed. Once that was adhered, I went around the panel with a gold Gelly Roll pen. (Because there could never be enough gold piled on this card! LOL!)

Here is another pic that shows all the shiny!

Ready to play along? Of course you are! Pick a color, any color, and make sure you link up your card or project at the Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers. If you get a chance, please check out my teammies' blogs to see what fabulous creations they came up with! Thanks for hanging out here for a while. I hope you have a great day!

Hey, look at that, I made a gold Christmas card. Looks like I'll be entering this over at Jingle Belles for the "Baby it's GOLD outside" challenge. ☺

Shopping Our Stash Bonus Challenge - A joint challenge with Jingle Belles!

Surprise! We have a treat in store for you today at SHOPPING OUR STASH! We've joined up with the gals at Jingle Belles for a joint challenge! One of the gals, Lauren, is also on the DT here at SOS and thought it would be a great idea to join both challenges together for fun! We loved the idea! So, what are we asking for? Very simple: make a Christmas card using any supplies that are at least a year old! You all know you are hoarders! ☺ Break out those old paper collections, those stickers, that ribbon with the snowflakes on it, and USE it!! LOL! Here's my card:

Here is the inside:

The paper I used is The Merry Days of Christmas, by MME. It's from 2009! The 3D ornament is by K&Company, and it's from July of 2013. I regret I didn't look up the joy stamp to see when the set it's from came out, but it was either last year or 2012. The die cut label on the inside is from the same paper collection. My card is based off of CTS #81.

So, there you have it - a mind meld of crafty geniuses! I hope you get to play along with Shopping Our Stash and Jingle Belles! Don't forget to link your card to both challenges! And if you have time, please check out my teammates and the Jingle Belles have created! You won't be disappointed! Thanks for stopping by!

Snow Flakes....

Hello and happy Friday to you all! The rain has gone away, it's a pretty day out (but for the waterlogged ground) and I decided to make a Christmas card! This is inspired by Sweet Sunday Sketch #217 and by Jingle Bells - All Bundled Up (use layers):

and the inside of my card:

Based on this sketch:

Yep, I did another chalkboard type card. I can't get enough of this look! All edges were inked with walnut stain before being adhered. The stamp set I've had for a few years, but this was the first time inking up this particular stamp. I also shopped my stash for those snowflakes. The blue ones are foam, and the appliques are actually iron ons that I just popped on with foam squares.

Well, that's all I've got. I hope you have a great evening and weekend! Thanks for stopping by!
