A little hello

 Hello and welcome!
It's been a while since I've been on here, other than
scheduled posts. My fur baby had an
eye procedure done a couple weeks ago and we've
been on monitor duty, making sure he's comfortable and that
he doesn't try rubbing his eye. He is wearing
the 'cone of shame' until his follow up on Tuesday.
It doesn't stop him from trying every so often. Sigh.
He is doing a lot better, though, so
we hope he won't have to keep wearing the
cone after Tuesday. 🤞

So, onto my post. Here's a CAS card I put together.
CAS cards are not my strength. All that white space!
I love my layers. LOL!

I stamped and colored the image, adding some
glitter glue onto that tiny heart. Once dry, I
die cut it using a square die that had stitches incorporated.

I did some creative masking to get just the 'hello' from
the whole sentiment stamp.
Along with the heart and stitches, which are my 'Pick Two' at
Time Out Challenges #281, I could say I've added a layer,
but since it's only 1-1/4" square, does it even count? LOL!
Also, Addicted to CAS #275 calls for a center focused card
so I'm entering this card there.

Thanks for visiting. I hope you have a great rest of your day.

It's Your Day!

 Hello and welcome crafty peeps!
I hope those of you who celebrated the 4th of July had
a fun filled day!

I have a card to share in which I tried out possibly not
quite new techniques, but they were to me. 😁

The first experiment was that gorgeous image. Towards the end of last year,
I scored a free used laser printer that a friend of my MIL's was trying to get rid of.
Right time, right place! Then it sat on my dining room table for a few months
before I rearranged my craft room a bit and also finally found a small table
that I liked that would fit the space. That was in January. Last weekend, I
finally got around to hooking it up and testing it out. (and now you know
why it takes me hours if not days to make a card. LOL!)
I printed out this mermaid as my test, and colored her
with Spectrum Noir markers and Prismacolor pencils.
O.M.G! Laser printer = GAME CHANGER!!!
No more blasting the image with my heat gun then giving
it a light coating with hairspray. (my old printer is an inkjet)
And no smearing at all!!!! I have so many digi images that I've
either bought, won, or were freebies, and I've not used most of them
because of the smearing I always got with the inkjet printer. No more!

The second experiment was grabbing my neglected gel plate, laying
a white card stock panel on it, and brayering a couple Distress Inks over the panel.
I covered it with wave stencil then brayered
another Distress Ink over it, giving it those muted stripes,
then spritzed water on the panel.

Once that dried, it was time for my third experiment.
I smeared Wild Lilac Glitz glitter gel through the fish stencil,
cleaned off the pallet knife, then went back over everything
with Turquoise Sea Glitz glitter gel. I love how all the fish
have both colors of glitter gel with some more purple and some
more turquoise!

The mermaid received a good coating of both WOS, and Nuvo Glitter
Drops in white blizzard, and once dry she was fussy cut
and adhered on the card with foam squares.
A couple small sentiment stamps finish the inside.

It took me a few days to put this together, because I'd work on it some,
then come back to it the next day. Do a bit more, and come back the
next day, etc. But I love how it turned out!

That's it for now. Thanks for visiting, and I hope you
have a wonderful day!

the 11th hour, and beyond

Yep, that's me again. Waiting until the last minute or beyond when
challenges are ended. And I even had this card made on, I think,
Saturday too. Couldn't be helped. We had a few days of absolutely
gorgeous weather, and I chose to spend it outside on my
deck and not in the craft room.
So here is my offering tonight:

here's the inside:

This card was based off of the now ended Tuesday Morning Sketch #548
and also for the (just about to end) Time Out Challenge #158.
(You'd think I'd have entered this sooner since 1) my dog has
epilepsy and 2) one of my nephews also has it.)
But like I mentioned on a prior post, my mojo has
exited, stage left.
But here I am now, squeaking in at the last moment! LOL!
Thanks for visiting, have a peaceful evening!

SHOPPING OUR STASH #413 - My Heart Is On Fire

Good Morning and welcome crafty friends!
This fortnight at SHOPPING OUR STASH,
as our theme suggests, we are
celebrating all things hearts.
For my card, I took it a bit literally and created
a grungy, heart afire card:

Sometime last year, I made a bunch of panels using different Nuance powder
dyes. I die cut my heart from one of them. For the flames, I sponged a couple
colors of Distress Inks onto some white card stock, spritzed some Granite
Glimmer Mist over it then die cut. The white panel was splattered with
black spray ink, then I stamped around the edges with my favorite
grunge stamp. A heat embossed sentiment on the banner
die completes my card.

I hope that you get a chance to play along at Shopping Our Stash!
We'd love to see how you interpret our challenge. Need more inspiration?
Simply check out the amazing projects that my teammies made!
Thanks for stopping by. Have a great day!

Fun with paper doilies

Hello crafty peeps!
It's apparently a two post day today.

I created this card for my soon to be niece-in-law for
her bridal shower earlier this month.

and the inside:

I found some tutorials on Youtube in regards to folding paper doilies to make
a wedding dress. This was my second attempt, and I'm pretty happy with it.
I started by lightly sponging a pale blue ink through a stencil for the main
panel. Both the sentiment on front and back are computer generated.
Once I adhered the dress onto the front of the card, I added rhinestones
for some pretty bling!

Thanks for visiting again! I should probably get off the computer and
do some housework. It may happen. LOL!

Faux Stained Glass Flower card

Hello there friends!
I tried a new to me technique called
Faux Stained Glass, and it was
very fun to do!

Here's what I created:

and the inside:

For my card, I used the Spring Flower Layering die. I cut the solid die from a
background I had previously made using powder dyes and spritzing with water.
I cut the outline die 4 times, stacking and gluing 3 of them together then to the
solid die cut. I filled all of those teeny tiny bits with Deco Art Media Liquid Glass,
and left it to dry overnight. The last outline die was heat embossed in gold embossing
powder before adhering to the rest of the stack.
I stamped a grungy image stamp multiple times on my card base
for more interest behind the flower. After stamping the sentiment,
I glued the flower to my card base.

Here's a couple close ups:

That water colored background with the Liquid Glass really does
look like stained glass!

That's all for now. You made it to the end! Thanks for
visiting and I hope you have a great evening!

SHOPPING OUR STASH #384 - Tis the Season

Hello and welcome crafty peeps!
This week at SHOPPING OUR STASH

holiday you celebrate this time of year, whether that is
Christmas, Hanukkah, Kwanzaa, or any other holiday!

Here's the card I've made:

I used had been sitting on my desk since making this card and I really
wanted to use it. A pretty wreath, some stamping and another Christmas card done!

the design team can take a break over the holidays to be with family and friends.
We will be back on January 8th next year!
From my house to yours, I wish you a very Merry Christmas
and a healthy & happy New Year!
