Happy Birthday, genius!

 Hello friends and welcome!
I always seem to be behind in making birthday
cards, especially dude cards. But I
did come up with this little gem:

I had this sentiment stamp set out on my desk when it
occurred to me that I had the Einstein stamp somewhere in
my collection. A snarky card was created LOL!
I thought the tweed paper was a nice touch. 😉

I already have a brother-in-law in mind for this.
Luckily, we all share a snarky sense of humor!

AAA Birthday #71 calls for a masculine card for their
current challenge, so I am entering this over there.

That's it for now. I hope that you enjoy the rest of your day and the weekend.
Thanks for visiting!

Happy Beeday to you

 Hello crafty friends and welcome!
I'm popping in with a card
I made over the last couple of days.
(Crafting and carpel tunnel is not a good mix.)

I made a shaker card!
I've had these adorable bee shaker bits for at least a year
and finally decided to crack open the package.
(Yes, I'm a hoarder of craft supplies. No judging. LOL!)
The first thing I did was blend a darker shade of
yellow ink in the bottom corner of my
card base using a hexagon stencil.

I die cut the main panel using a
hexagon die, along with two smaller
ones from some paper scraps.
After I glued acetate behind the
large die cut, I added foam strips on
the back of the panel, sprinkled some of
the shaker bits in the space, and carefully
adhered the main panel onto the card base.

The sentiment and bee images were stamped, colored and cut,
then I adhered everything else.
I gave the bees a coating of glitter drops for some sparkle.
A simple sentiment finishes the inside of my card.

That's it for now. Thank you for visiting, and I
hope you have a great day!

SISTERHOOD OF SNARKY STAMPERS #181 - L is for Layers

Welcome and happy first day of Spring!!!

This fortnight at the SISTERHOOD OF SNARKY STAMPERS,

we are looking for projects with lots of layers on them. Of course,

some of my Sistahs thought outside the box on this one, which

is so brilliant! Here's what I came up with:

Lots of layers here, especially that cake die. Each piece is a die cut!
You'd think this was a very fancy, swanky card, with the elegant
black and white theme and that white glitter paper behind the cake....

 ...but then there's the inside:

I hope that you'll find some time to join us in our Layers challenge over

at the Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers. For more ideas, please do

Thanks for visiting!

Having some fun with layering stamps

Hello and happy hump day!
I was playing around with a new to me stamp set
using different color combinations for the layered
plumeria flower.
This is what came about:

and the inside:

I don't have a gazillion different ink colors so I was just using what I
had on hand. Of all the different images on this card, I really
like how the monstera palm leaf came out the best. LOL!
Are any of these lined up perfectly? Nope, but they are close
enough in my book, so they were fussy cut and arranged.
My design is based off the Paper Players #501 sketch.

Thanks for visiting. I hope you have a great day!

July Demo Day To Go at Photo Scraps!

Hi all!
Just wanted to let you know that I made a couple card kits for
Demo Day To Go at Photo Scraps!
It happens tomorrow, July 18th, from 10 am to 2 pm.

A little snarky:

 and a little sharky:

For the shark card, I've included the extra cut outs, mostly just in case
someone would rather use the light grey instead of the red for
the inside of the shark's mouth. I've actually used the extra red mouth opening
part to construct my sample. Here's how I put the
pieces together:

Start with the big die cut. This die is great as it marks where all the
pieces will go!

I used both red pieces on my sample, so that the next layer
will have an even area to add them to. You can skip this if you want.
Also, if you'd rather use that light grey inside mouth piece instead
of the red, this is where you'd add it.

Next, the teeth. I suggest gluing the bottom teeth first then
the top teeth.

Over that, the light grey piece.

Glue the eyes and you're done!

You'll notice that on my sample, I've added white dots to the eyes.
This is totally optional. Speaking of the eyes, in the kit, they are
stuck with repositional tape to a bit of copy paper.
If you happen to lose one or both, just fill in the eyes with
a black marker. Easy peasy!

I hope that you come out tomorrow to Photo Scraps
for Demo Day To Go, or you can order kits by email!
It runs from 10 am to 2 pm.
 Help support a small business!

 Thanks! Have a great day!

SHOPPING OUR STASH #423 - You're So Sweet

Welcome crafty friends and good Tuesday morning to you!
The new challenge started at
This fortnight, we are looking for projects with a
sweet and/or cute theme to them.
That could be sweet food, a cute baby, anything like that.
Here's what I came up with:

and the inside:

I've used some ancient paper and an older stamp set, of which this was
the first time the cupcake and a couple of the sentiments saw ink.
Admittedly, the sentiment on the banner is rather new, but
it went so perfectly with this card, I just had to use it!
You can't see it, but the cherry and sprinkles received a generous
coating of a Wink of Stella pen.

I hope that you find some time to play along in our Sweet challenge
at Shopping Our Stash! We'd love to see your project in our gallery. Need

SHOPPING OUR STASH #387 - Inspired by Quilting

Good morning crafty peeps and welcome!
Did any of you get to see the 'Super Blood Wolf Moon' last night?
The lunar eclipse was pretty awesome to see.
I actually stayed up and tried to take pictures, but
all my pics came out blurry, as the high winds kept me from being steady
with my camera. (Plus it was -1 outside, so I wasn't out long.)
Oh well, it still was gorgeous to see!

This week at SHOPPING OUR STASH, Mimi is your hostess with the mostess,
and she picked the theme quilts as your inspiration!
Here's my take on the challenge:

and the inside:

I used a much neglected quilt die and cut from four different patterned papers and four
times in white card stock. After gluing the white frames to the card bases, I arranged my
designs and glued. all. of. those. pieces. back. in. place.

Then, since I still had the frames from the DP and white bits, I pieced
four more cards!

On two of these cards, I first arranged the bits on some scrap paper and spritzed
them with a couple colors of Glimmer Mists, to break up some of the whiteness.
After I assembled these, I felt they still needed something, so I broke out a
butterfly punch and, using another scrap of paper from the collection,
added some butterflies. Much better!

That's 8 cards! All painstakingly paper pieced! Gah!
I don't think I'll be attempting that again any time soon.
My eyes still haven't refocused yet. LOL!

So now it's your turn to create something inspired by a quilt, and link up
at Shopping Our Stash! We'd love to see your take on the challenge.
Need more ideas? Simply check out what the other DT ladies
have created to awe and inspire you!
Thanks for visiting. Stay warm!

SISTERHOOD OF SNARKY STAMPERS #107 - U is for Umbrella

They say April showers bring May flowers, but we are
still getting snow here in the Mid Atlantic. WTH?!

Regardless, Edna and my Sisters at
the SISTERHOOD OF SNARKY STAMPERS challenge you to
create something using an umbrella.
Whether you use the type which keeps the rain off of you,
or the kind that are a garnish to tropical drinks,
is up to you!

Here's what I came up with:

and with inside...with snark, of course:

With a little help using the sketch from Just Add Ink #401, I had some fun
coloring this sweet image (NBUS! I've had this for at least 3 years). It's amazing
what you rediscover in your craft room when you start looking inside boxes.
My sentiment was computer generated since I didn't have that as a stamp already.
You can tell a bit in the picture that her Wellies are slick from Glossy Accents.

Now it's your turn to slap a bumbershoot onto your project and link up
at the Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers! Do yourself a favor and visit the blogs
of my Sisters and our newest Guest Designer, Michelle, to see their brilliant creations!
Thanks for popping in. Have a great day!
