Having some fun with layering stamps

Hello and happy hump day!
I was playing around with a new to me stamp set
using different color combinations for the layered
plumeria flower.
This is what came about:

and the inside:

I don't have a gazillion different ink colors so I was just using what I
had on hand. Of all the different images on this card, I really
like how the monstera palm leaf came out the best. LOL!
Are any of these lined up perfectly? Nope, but they are close
enough in my book, so they were fussy cut and arranged.
My design is based off the Paper Players #501 sketch.

Thanks for visiting. I hope you have a great day!

Another Christmas card in July...

Hi there friends and welcome.
I'm popping in with a quick post about a
Christmas card I made, like, 4 days ago and am only
blogging about it now. At the 11th hour.
Again. LOL!

and the inside:

This is one of those cards that I would file under "meh", but
I did have fun using a boat load of dies on this, so there's that.

I'm combining two challenges with this card: the just about ended

My inspiration was the embroidery hoops hanging over the mantel.
I combined the 'JOY' from the first one and the design of the last one,
switching out stars for the pompoms.
Before I glued the bow on, I gave the stars and banner a generous coating of
Nuvo glitter drops, because, sparkle!

That's all for now. Gotta get this entered. LOL!
Thanks for popping by!

SHOPPING OUR STASH #425 - Black and White

 Good morning and welcome!
It's time to start the new challenge at
Mimi is your hostess with the mostest this time around, and
she's looking for your black and white creations!
Here's what I came up with:

I bought this cover plate two years ago and it's the first time I've used it.
(face palm!) It's amazing what you find when you clean up and
rearrange your stash. LOL!
The panel underneath the fancy die cut was made using grey Magenta Nuance powder dye
and a water mister on Bristol paper.

Not exactly pretty by itself, but when you add the die cut over it, suddenly
it looks soooo dreamy! This was a labor of love. Even though I ran that die cut
through my machine at least 4 times, the very center just would not cut all
the way through, even with a shim. I got out the X-Acto knife and very
carefully cut those pieces out.
I re-discovered some pre-cut fancy strips and heat embossed the
sentiment on one of them. Also found some ancient flower stickers
to add. I can't take credit for the design as I used this card as my
muse. Just put my own spin on it. (Thank you Cathie!)

I hope that you find some time to play along at Shopping Our Stash
this fortnight. We'd love to see your take on the challenge. For more
ideas, simply visit the blogs of my teammies to see what they created.
Thanks for popping by. Have a great day!

July Demo Day To Go at Photo Scraps!

Hi all!
Just wanted to let you know that I made a couple card kits for
Demo Day To Go at Photo Scraps!
It happens tomorrow, July 18th, from 10 am to 2 pm.

A little snarky:

 and a little sharky:

For the shark card, I've included the extra cut outs, mostly just in case
someone would rather use the light grey instead of the red for
the inside of the shark's mouth. I've actually used the extra red mouth opening
part to construct my sample. Here's how I put the
pieces together:

Start with the big die cut. This die is great as it marks where all the
pieces will go!

I used both red pieces on my sample, so that the next layer
will have an even area to add them to. You can skip this if you want.
Also, if you'd rather use that light grey inside mouth piece instead
of the red, this is where you'd add it.

Next, the teeth. I suggest gluing the bottom teeth first then
the top teeth.

Over that, the light grey piece.

Glue the eyes and you're done!

You'll notice that on my sample, I've added white dots to the eyes.
This is totally optional. Speaking of the eyes, in the kit, they are
stuck with repositional tape to a bit of copy paper.
If you happen to lose one or both, just fill in the eyes with
a black marker. Easy peasy!

I hope that you come out tomorrow to Photo Scraps
for Demo Day To Go, or you can order kits by email!
It runs from 10 am to 2 pm.
 Help support a small business!

 Thanks! Have a great day!

Bright & Beautiful Birthday

Hello and welcome!
I've done a thing: I made a card the same day a
challenge came out. I know. Don't fall off your chair.
I'm usually entering challenges at the 11th hour.
Here's what I made:

and the inside:

I had to let all the Stickles that I applied dry, so that's why I'm
only blogging today. Still...

This is the first time I've used this stamp set. NBUS! Another
rarity is that I bought it last month and am using it this month,
and not, say, next year sometime, like I usually do.
*cough - hoarder - cough*
There are so many different pieces in this set to make a gazillion
different rainbows. To keep my brain from exploding in trying to
decide what color inks and parts to put together, I simply
mimicked one of the samples on the back of the packaging.
Thank you, that was a life saver!
This is a very CAS card for me, but I'm starting to dig it. ☺

Well, guess I should go and do something productive. LOL!
Thanks for visiting. Have a great day!

More painted rocks

Hello friends and welcome!
Since my card making mojo seems to be coming and going,
(more of the going than I'd like), I decided to paint some
more rocks to hide in my neighborhood.
Using the tutorial from this post by Adrianne,
created some dandelion wish rocks:

Since painting these rocks last month, I've found a rock painting Facebook group
based in Maryland, thus the PRMD hashtag. Some day, when I feel
more confident about hiking outside of my own hood,
(you know, because of the Corona virus still going strong),
I'll hide painted rocks on those hikes. But that
won't be any time soon, it seems.
Until then, I'll just keep on leaving a little bit of
happiness (I hope) around. We can all use that! ☺

Thanks for visiting. I hope you have a wonderful day!

Supplies:
rocks collected at the beach
DecoArt Media Gesso
DecoArt Americana acrylic paint: Titanium White, Indian Turquoise, Dark Chocolate, Irish Moss
DecoArt DuraClear satin varnish
paint brushes
Mod Podge
Sakura white Gelly Roll pen

SISTERHOOD OF SNARKY STAMPERS #164 - Z is for Zebra

Hello and good morning snarky peeps!
It's time again for a new challenge at the
Z is for Zebra is this fortnight's challenge.
Now, if you don't have anything zebra-ish in your stash,
don't fret. Just use some black/white stripes and you're all set!
Here's what I came up with:

and the inside:

I did a thing: I made my own zebra paper!

Aaanndd then I die cut it and almost completely covered it up. LOL!
I purchased a cut-apart 12" x 12" sheet of DP with these punny animal
squares a while back, and luckily remembered that one of the squares
had this zebra on it.
I hope you find some time to play along in our Zebra challenge at the
Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers! We'd love to see your take on it.

reigning Queen, Sharon, and leave a comment while there.

SHOPPING OUR STASH #424 - Christmas in July

Hello and welcome crafty peeps!
The new challenge at SHOPPING OUR STASH
starts now and as the title indicates,
we are celebrating Christmas in July!
Yep, we are helping you this fortnight to get a
head start on your holiday card making.
Here's what I came up with:

and the inside:

Love that inside sentiment! LOL!
In addition to the shiny rhinestone swirls and the three tiny star
rhinestones in the top corner, I've added some mystery glitter glue to all
the red ornaments, and Star Dust Stickles to the garland. (typing this out,
I just realized I used the Star Dust Stickles. It wasn't on purpose,
it was just the closest bottle within reach. LOL!)

I hope that you find some time to play along in our Christmas in July
challenge at Shopping Our Stash! Need more ideas? Simply
check out what my teammies have come up with to inspire you!
