SHOPPING OUR STASH #417 - Under the Sun, Moon and Stars

Hello and welcome crafty friends!
We have a fun challenge starting today at
As the title suggests, we are looking for projects that have
the Sun, Moon, and Stars on them. Use one, two or all of them!
Here's what I came up with:

I used a couple stamps that I bought the beginning of last year, and only now
have inked up. (I know, the shame!)
To make the starry sky, I just smeared the lighter blue ink randomly around the stamp,
stamped using my MISTI (a stamping platform is a HUGE help if you want
to try this) re-stamping a couple times more, then, leaving the remaining ink on the
stamp (for reference), did the same using the darker blue. You can also go
back with the lighter blue again if you want. I stamped the tree line in black ink
a few times. In hindsight, I should have embossed that in black EP, but oh well.
Admittedly, the sentiment stamp is only a few months old (in my craft room) It's from
a set of random sentiments that I heat embossed in white EP a couple weeks ago,
and I'm determined to use as many of them as possible. (Instead of, you know,
just adding them to the UFO pile) I also used some Star Dust Stickles to
randomly dot some of the stars.

I hope that you find some time (really now, we all have the time these days), to
play along this fortnight at Shopping Our Stash! We'd love to see your
take on our challenge! For more ideas, do check out what my teammies
have created to inspire you!
Thanks for visiting, and I hope you have a wonderful day!

Heat embossing using stencils - part 2

Hey there crafty friends!
Here's another card I made using heat embossing
along with a stencil:

So much shine!

Here's the finished inside:

This is such a fun way to use your stencils in a different way.
(at least it was for me.)
Another relatively CAS card for me. But I really like how this one looks.
That's it for tonight. Gonna relax and read for a bit now.
Have a great evening and thanks for visiting!

Getting technique-y with stencils

Hi there crafty friends.
I want to share a card I made using a stencil and embossing powder.
I think this was the first time trying it out, and I really
like the looks of it. Here, check it out:

Oh look, shiny!

I taped around the area closest to where I was using the stencil then went to town
sponging Versamark glue into the stencil, then heat embossing in copper. Continued
the copper vibe and used matching ink for the sentiment and some rediscovered
copper glitter paper in my stash. Score!
Very CAS, for me. (You know I love my layers!)

That's it for this post. More to come, as I had some fun with this technique.
Thanks for visiting. Have a relaxing evening!

I was literally working on this card a week or so ago, when my phone rang,

Woo Hoo! I am soooooo happy for them!!
Of course, this card was mailed to them the next day. LOL!

for the near future), to play along in our Kids challenge at the

March Demo Day cards for Photo Scraps

Hi all and happy Friday!
Well, if you haven't been living under a rock for the last month or so,
you know that the world is dealing with Covid 19. Because
of that, tomorrow's Demo Day at Photo Scraps has been cancelled.
But never fear. They will still be open until the state goes on lock down.
In the meantime, you can still stop in, or call the store and one of the lovely ladies
will be happy to pull items for you, including the Demo Day projects.
They are offering curbside pickup if you do not wish to go in the shop.
They've made it easy by numbering all the cards and layouts,
as you can see here, to make it easy for you to pick!
I use Spectrum Noir markers, but I gave Tracy a list (for both Easter cards) of what
I thought would be comparable Copic markers. I looked them up on
Pinterest charts, but the colors might not match totally.

These are the three cards that I've created for you:

Chick in Egg card supply list:
Stamps: Sunny Studio - A Good Egg & dies
Ink: Memento - Tuxedo Black
DP: Core-dinations Purple Large Dot
CS: Spectrum Noir; black & light purple
Misc: Fiskars - Bubbles punch

Spectrum Noir markers used:
Chick: CT1,3,4 OR1,3 BT2 (around edge of egg shells)
Egg:  PL 2,4

For this Happy Birthday card, I colored the flower image using a water
brush and a few colors of Distress Ink. If you don't have those, you can
always just color it with your marker of choice.

Happy Birthday card supply list:
Stamps: Sunny Studios - Pink Peonies; Lawn Fawn - Wavy Sayings & dies
Ink: Staz On - Jet Black; Memento - Tuxedo Black
Ranger Distress Inks - Spun Sugar, Worn Lipstick, Scattered Straw
DP: Simple Stories - Hello Summer
CS: Strathmore Mixed Media paper; Kaisercraft - Capri; Bazzill - Intense Kiwi and Piglet
Misc: Spellbinders standard circle & scalloped circle dies; water brush; Spectrum Noir AG1
marker (around the outer edge of the flower); Darice - Multi Dot embossing folder

My third card is another Easter card. (Hey, it's coming up!)
Basically, I just used markers that matched closely with that
pretty flower paper.

Easter Basket card supply list:
Stamps: Sunny Studio - A Good Egg and dies (there are so many cute images on this one!)
Ink: Memento -Tuxedo Black
DP: Echo Park - Yellow Stripe from the Splendid Sunshine collection; Photo Play - Flower
Garden from the Bloom collection
CS: blue - Kaisercraft - Surfer; green - Bazzill - Kiwi Crush
Misc: Spellbinders standard oval dies

Spectrum Noir markers:
Basket: MB1,3
Eggs: AB1, AB3, PP3, AP2, CT4
Bow: AG1,3,5

These are difficult and stressful times, but crafting is a great way
to weather this particular storm. I hope that you stop by Photo Scraps
and grab up some of the fantastic cards and layouts available.
(not to mention all the other amazing products they stock!)
Support your local small business!

Thanks for popping in. Have a great weekend and be well, my friends!

STAMPlorations Theme & Photo Prompt Challenge reminder

Good morning crafty friends!
Just popping in with a reminder about the March

I went with just the theme this time around for my card:

The panels were die cut using two of the Crazy Double Running Stitch Rectangle Nesting dies.
On the back panel, I blended brown ink through the Some Birds ARTplorations stencil.
I used the same on the main panel, but in Kraft ink. Over that, I stamped the
Embrace Your Journey stamp in brown ink. I stamped one of the icons from
the Wanderlust Hipster Icons stamp set, die cut it from a circle die and sponged
lightly in brown ink around the edge before adhering to the card.

There's still plenty of time to link up your project at the
to see your take on it.

SISTERHOOD OF SNARKY STAMPERS #155 - B is for BOOZE

Happy Saturday and welcome!
The SISTERHOOD OF SNARKY STAMPERS has a fun challenge
starting today: B is for BOOZE!
I got out my wine glass shaker die and created this card:

and here's the finished inside:

I think the thing that took the longest time was picking out the red
and pink sequins from the big bag of mixed colors I have. It prompted me
to purchase some inexpensive containers, and one day I'll actually go through
said bag-O-sequins and separate them. It could happen.
If that's not crazy enough, I made another shaker card, and yep,
picked out the sequins on this one too:

Now it's your turn to get boozy with the Sisters at the
Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers! Speaking of Sisters, we have adopted
two new ones! Welcome to our crazy coven Helen Hollinger and
Jules Peddicord! Let the shenanigans begin!

Thanks for visiting. Have a great day!

SHOPPING OUR STASH #415 - Is It Summer Yet??

Good morning friends and welcome!
We have a new challenge starting at SHOPPING OUR STASH:
Is It Summer Yet?!
We are looking for anything summer related on your projects.
I played with some tiny neglected stamps and used my
wreath builder template to make this cute card:

Summer means warm weather, flowers, bees buzzing and butterflies fluttering by to me.
Some of the images were stamped with colored inks, others I colored in
using my Spectrum Noir markers. Even the yellow background
paper has tiny little suns all over it! The butterflies and bees were
winked by Stella for a little shimmer.
I used a simple birthday sentiment to finish the inside:

I hope you get the chance to play along at Shopping Our Stash this
fortnight. We'd love to see your projects in our gallery.
Thanks for visiting. Have a wonderful day!

Supplies:
Stamps: Paper Smooches - Spring Fling, Daisys & Paisleys, Metropolis, Free Spirits, Blossoming Buds, Happy Birthday

Christmas Kickstart Challenge #29 + the Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers = Christmas Cheer!

Hello and welcome snarky peeps!
Guess what? The Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers are Guest Elves

The theme for this challenge is near and dear to us Sistahs,
Christmas Cheer! (a.k.a. Alcohol!)

My card was my mass produced holiday card last year. Jo pointed out to me that this
would work well for our co-challenge, so I held back from blogging about it
until now.

I have cocktail napkins with this sentiment on them, so I knew I wanted to make
a card with it. I stamped the people image and only colored the drinks. The sentiment
was computer generated, and I used up a bunch of hoarded Christmas
paper for the back panel. Very easy for a massed produced card!

I hope that you'll find some time this month to play along at Jo's
Christmas Kickstart Challenge! She always has a fun prize up
for grabs so why not play along, and get a head start on your
holiday cards? For more fun holiday cheer, please visit
the blogs of my Snarky Sisters to see their makes!

Thanks for visiting, have a great day!
