Put a bird on it

Hey all! I'm just popping in with a quick post
to share a card I made for the almost over

I got out my cardinal die and went to work making this card:

This is the inside:

I love it when the patterned paper does all the work. LOL!
A couple branch dies, (which I went over with a white pen
to make it look like there was snow on them), and a simple
sentiment was all I needed to finish this card.
That's it for now. I'm off to enter this one.
Thanks for visiting. Have a wonderful day!

Ahh, a sketch challenge with lots of layers!

Hey all, I'm popping in with a card I've made based on the
newly resurrected Mojo Monday #502! I'm so
happy that Julee brought it back, because
sketches with lots of layers are my thing,
and there doesn't seem to be many left out there in blogland.

I may have basically cased her card, (thank you for the inspiration Julee!),
but I've put my own spin on it. Check it:

and the inside:

Lots of stash shopping with this one. And can you believe that
poinsettia stamp was just inked for the first time? (since 2012!)
Really, the only thing newish on this card is the twig dies, which I
purchased at the beginning of the year. (or the end of last year).

That's it for now. I'm going to go get my jammies on
and relax with my hubby and fur baby now.
Have a good evening!

I'd like to enter this card at:

2.6.14 - Believe in the Magic

Hi there! I finished the card I started last night so I felt compelled to share! LOL!

Here's the inside:

Hey look at that. It's a Christmas card. With stockings. Hmm, looks like I'll be able to enter this for Merry Monday #94 - use a stocking or stockings.

And that design looks familiar. Yep. It's the sketch from Mojo Monday #331:

I'm very happy with how this came out. Mostly because I found stockings in abundance in one of the Christmas collections I have. I used the stickers that came with the paper. I stuck them on scrap paper then fussy cut around them to make them sturdier. Of course, I thought it needed something more, (because there isn't nearly enough layers on this bad boy), so I added a few rhinestones in the corner. Yep. That's much better.

There's still time to play along with both of these challenges, so if you haven't already done so, what are you waiting for? (wink)

I hope that you have a great evening! Thanks for stopping by!

Season's Greetings Cardinal...

Hello my friends! I hope you all have survived the bad weather we have been receiving the last couple of days. We got at least 3" of snow yesterday, but the thermometer made it up to 37F today, so a lot of it melted. Good thing too. The so called weather experts are calling for another 3" to 5" of snow. Oh joy and rapture!

I have a card to share that I made using the Sweet Sunday Sketch #199: I tried the chalkboard technique again, and I love it! Check it out:

Here's the inside:

and the sketch:

What a fantastic sketch! I'd be lost without sketches. On rare occasions I'll make a card without any help (sketch, colors, photo inspiration), but I usually don't like how they turn out. Thus I use all the help I can get! LOL! I've had this stamp set for at least a year or more, but this particular image never saw ink until today. It just screamed at me to make it a chalkboard image. So I did! I followed the sketch very closely this time. (Well, as usual) For the main panel, after stamping and blasting it with a heat gun to set the ink, I lightly colored over random holly leaves and the berries with Prisma Color pencils. Added some tiny red rhinestones to one of the corners, added the border and black rhinestones, finished the inside and boom! Done! It sounds like I made this in minutes, but truthfully, it probably took two hours to do, mostly from trying to decide what papers to use. (too much stash - gotta start using it! LOL!)

Thanks for stopping by and I hope that you all have a good evening! Stay crafty my friends!
