JUST US GIRLS #380 - Trend Week

Hello and welcome crafty friends! It's Trend Week at JUST US GIRLS! Vicki is your hostess this week and she's picked HEARTS for you to get creative with.

Here's what I came up with:

 Here's the inside:

Most people would have gone with the obvious Valentine's Day card, but me? I made a birthday card for my Mom. Her birthday is Monday, so I hope that she'll have received this by then. (I mailed it out on Tuesday, but for whatever reason, sending snail mail from Maryland to Illinois seems to take 4-5 days instead of 2-3. Go figure) I did break out my one and only Valentine themed paper pad to make this card. (It makes an appearance one or twice this time of year. Ha!) I even remembered that I have a heart border die and used that also. Score!

I hope that you find some time this week to play along at Just Us Girls! We'd love to see what you come up with. For more inspiration, check out what the Design Team and our Guest Designer, Michele have created and leave them some bloggy love.

Thanks for visiting. Have a great day!

  1. Great take on the sketch, lovely inside verse and a fabulous card.

  2. So sweet! Great mix of patterns. Thanks for joining us at Mojo Monday!

  3. What a sweet card for your Mom, Chris. I love that heart border die.

  4. I love your design! Great combo of patterns and I like how you added the strip of hearts on their sides. I'm sure your mom will love this.

  5. Fabulous DP's and layers. Such a sweet card and your Mum will love it.

  6. Love all the layers on this design, and that heart border is a fabulous touch! I love how it goes vertical instead of the traditional horizontal placement for hearts. Love how you personalized the sentiment, too. Your mom is going to love it!

  7. Such a lovely card! So glad you could join us for Mojo Monday!

  8. What an unusual and fun Valentine. I love the colors you have chosen, and you have really nailed that sketch. Super cute.

  9. I'm impressed that you have even a single Valentine-themed paper pad, Chris!!! ;) And what good use it gets here to complement the simple sentiment.
