JUST US GIRLS #380 - Trend Week

Hello and welcome crafty friends! It's Trend Week at JUST US GIRLS! Vicki is your hostess this week and she's picked HEARTS for you to get creative with.

Here's what I came up with:

 Here's the inside:

Most people would have gone with the obvious Valentine's Day card, but me? I made a birthday card for my Mom. Her birthday is Monday, so I hope that she'll have received this by then. (I mailed it out on Tuesday, but for whatever reason, sending snail mail from Maryland to Illinois seems to take 4-5 days instead of 2-3. Go figure) I did break out my one and only Valentine themed paper pad to make this card. (It makes an appearance one or twice this time of year. Ha!) I even remembered that I have a heart border die and used that also. Score!

I hope that you find some time this week to play along at Just Us Girls! We'd love to see what you come up with. For more inspiration, check out what the Design Team and our Guest Designer, Michele have created and leave them some bloggy love.

Thanks for visiting. Have a great day!

I'd like to enter this at Mojo Monday #483

JUST US GIRLS #327 - Photo Week

Hello and welcome! I'd say good morning, but I live in the Baltimore, MD area, and we are being slammed with a blizzard. So, not so good a morning. LOL!

It's Photo week at JUST US GIRLS, and Sharyn has this fun picture for you to be inspired by. (Because, right about now, I am sooooo ready for some warmer weather!) Here is how I interpreted the photo:

 Here is the inside:

I like using unconventional colors for a holiday, and you can't get much farther away from red and pink than this! After I die cut the heart, I stamped the anchor in white ink, sprinkled white embossing powder over it, and heat embossed it. It didn't give a really good cover, so I drew over the anchor with a VersaMark marker, and repeated the process. MUCH better! Both the anchor and sentiment below saw ink for the first time. Yay me for using my stash!

Now it's your turn. Simply make a card or project based off of the photo and link it up at Just Us Girls! While there, please check out what my other teammies, and our Guest Designers - Deepti and Vicki - have made, and leave them some bloggy love! Remember, if you are picked as Chic of the Week for any of our January challenges, you'll be in the running to be our Guest Designer for the month of March. Good luck and happy crafting!

For those of you on the east coast being effected by Jonas the Blizzard, stay safe and warm!

SHOPPING OUR STASH #186 - Love Me Do

I really need to start scheduling my posts as soon as I make my cards. (you know, instead of the day before. *koff*) I'm really late to the party. This weekend my computer started giving me problems. Problems as in I couldn't link to anything. Nothing. Nada. Monday, it completely crashed on me. I was NOT happy, and when Momma isn't happy, ain't NOBODY happy!! Luckily, I'm married to a programmer (I.T. Guy) who, after working hard all day trying to fix glitches in the office software, and trying not to kill any number of the company's outside sales reps (who I swear throw their laptops off of high buildings then take it in to Andy and ask him why it won't work and can you fix it?), comes home to his frazzled wife bitching about politely asking if he could work on our computer and fix it. Luckily he could, but not until yesterday. Today I was working for the little blue haired lady I care for and haven't been around all day until now. So, that's my story and I'm sticking with it.

Now that I'm off my soapbox, I'll bet you'd like to see what I made for the new challenge at SHOPPING OUR STASH? (Which, as the title suggests, is to make a LOVE-themed project.)

 here's the inside:

Using the now over with Freshly Made Sketch #170, I made a Valentine's Day card. Except for the larger heart dies, everything used is at least a year old. The rhinestone swirls are probably close to 4 years old. (Hoarder? Me?) I even Frankensteined the bits and pieces I had left together. (A term  that Lauren brought to my attention that I've fully embraced.) ☺

With VD approaching (the holiday, you silly!), now's the time to get your card or project made. Just link it up at Shopping Our Stash so we can see it! While there, check out what my amazing teammates created for your viewing pleasure. Thanks for stopping by, and again sorry for the delay! Have a wonderful day!

Shopping Our Stash #137: Love Me Tender

Good Morning and welcome to another fun challenge at Shopping Our Stash! Since we know you still feel compelled to make Valentine's Day cards or projects, this week's challenge is to make something with a theme of Love or Valentine's Day. ☺ My hubby and I do not celebrate Valentine's Day. We always felt that it was a 'Hallmark Holiday'. That being said, here is my take on this challenge:

and the inside of my card: why does the white card base look pink?!

I was actually going to give this to him, but he came into the craft cave while I was making it and, well, there went that idea. :P All of the stamps used I've had for at least a year. Plus this was the first time they all saw ink. (A goal of mine was to start using more of the gazillion stamps I've accrued over the years. That's easy to do when you subscribed to a stamp kit of the month club. Or two. Like I was.  I nailed it with this card. Yay me!) Did some fussy cutting also, with all those hearts. There's navy blue in the paper collection I used, so the main panel is framed in navy card stock, from the scrap pile no less. (although it looks black, it's navy. Trust me)

Well. If you are completely bedazzled by my card making prowess, (LOL! Just kidding!), why not make a card or project with a love or V-Day theme to it and link it up at Shopping Our Stash? Come on, you know you want to! And don't forget to check out the amazing cards my teammates made for your viewing pleasure!

Thanks for hanging out with me. I hope you have a great day! Stay crafty, my friends!
