Happy Birthday balloons

 Hello and welcome crafty friends!
I've been a bit MIA here on my blog lately,
except for the scheduled posts. I took
a trip home to Illinois for a bit of a visit,
and more importantly, to join my family in
celebrating my Mom's 90th birthday.

She's so cute...and keeps shrinking! LOL!

So, now that I'm back home, I thought it was time to
kickstart my crafty mojo by making this card:

Here's the inside:

I spent way too much time trying to find some red striped paper
in my stash, with no luck, so I made my own:

I mixed the red Magenta Nuance powder dye with water and painted
some stripes on my paper. I wound up reapplying a couple more
times to get a deeper red.

This turned out pretty good, and so perhaps I'll be
revisiting the 'paint my own paper' thing again. 😉
That's all I got for now. I hope that you
have a great day. Thanks for visiting!

I'd like to enter this at:

  2. Chris, congratulations to your Mom for her 90th birthday. Treasure her as long as you can... Mothers are something special! I love how you created your own striped paper for our Try Stampin' on Tuesday challenge!! It was also clever of you to raise some of the balloons of the card front for added dimension. Thank you so much for joining us at Try Stampin' on Tuesday for BOTH parts of our challenge!!! -Donna

adding pinterest script 3. Changing the Position of the Pin it! button The cool thing about this code is that you have some freedom over where the Pinterest button for Blogger will go over the image. Take a look at the code that you just copied and pasted into the HTML for the word 'center'.
