Tropical birthday wishes

Hiya crafty friends and welcome.
Today I figured it's about time I blogged about a card I made a few weeks ago. A card that
got my crafty mojo working again.
And I'm only blogging about it now. Sigh.
Here it is:

 and the inside:

Seriously, I don't know why it took me this long to share this card. Because it's
very mixed media, and I love how it turned out.
The background was made using Magenta Nuance dye powders. I stenciled over it with
embossing paste using that awesome flower stencil.
I die cut, colored and added Stickles and Wink of Stella to the pineapple and the
hibiscus flower. Love the subtle shimmer to the images!

Oooh! Shimmery!

The Happy Birthday was embossed in gold using the Digits set.

Well, that's it for now. Guess I should get my behind in gear and do something
about dinner. LOL! Thanks for visiting!

Another Bad Ass Art Journal page - Sisters

Hello crafty friends.
I'm popping in before the next line of thunderstorms hit, and knock out my
cable service again.

I'm very slowly working on my Bad Ass Art Journal classes.
I'm on week 6 now. Check it:

I used Magenta Nuance powder dyes to water color my background. For the next layer I
used white ink and a few stencils for a subtle pattern. (I'm not sure if it was that
particular ink pad, or stenciling onto the first layer, but that ink took
3 DAYS to finally dry! Even hitting it many times with
my heat gun! Holy crow!)
You can see some of the patterns in the next couple of pics:

My people bodies were made using spray inks.
(Don't do what I did and use water reactive sprays for this, as they are, well,
reactivated with any liquid. Or if you lean your hand on them whilst painting the heads.
Ask me how I know)
I painted the head and shoulders. In the class, these were left as is, but
I felt compelled to add hair to mine. Personal choice)

Stamped some grungy thatched marks, and went over them with the edge of an old credit card
and black paint where the stamp didn't touch the paper. Also stamped and fussy cut the flower.
Some scribbling and doodling, and it was all finished!

I did spray this (carefully) outside with a sealer, in the hopes
that it won't smear, if someone were to touch it. LOL!

Thanks for visiting!

Hello crafty peeps and welcome!
So for the new challenge at

In the spirit of NSD, you can also include
something recycled or upcycled on your CAS project, but it's not mandatory.

For my card, I recycled a bit of cardboard from a box:

 and the inside:

SISTERHOOD OF SNARKY STAMPERS #88 K is for Kids

Good morning peeps and welcome!

Our new challenge at the SISTERHOOD OF SNARKY STAMPERS
is all about KIDS!
Whether you make a card specifically for a little one, or make something
about a child but not necessarily for one,
or just use an image of a kid on your card, we want to see it!

Here is my offering:

 and the inside:

My mojo has slowly been making a come back in my craft room.
(And it's about f%$#ing time)
I took a mixed media paper panel and sponged first with Tumbled Glass DI, then
using a brick wall stencil, sponged over randomly in Mermaid Lagoon DI. I stamped the typewriter key stamp a few times on the panel, stamping off first. The edges are sponged with Vintage Photo DI.
I spritzed some Aquamarine Glimmer Mist onto the panel also, because I could.
The gas mask girl was stamped, fussy cut, edged with Vintage Photo DI and adhered with
foam squares. I found a tiny pink flower sticker in my stash and added it to the image. I used alpha stamps for the sentiment, and drew the hashtag, cut out and
edged again in Vintage Photo DI.
A very heartfelt sentiment finishes the inside.

I hope that you can find some time to play along at the Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers!
For more ideas, do check out what my Sisters and our Guest Designer, Donna Mundinger, have created for your viewing pleasure.

Thanks for popping in!
