SHOPPING OUR STASH #271 - Apple for Teacher

Hello and welcome crafty peeps! This week at SHOPPING OUR STASH, we want you to make a Teacher Appreciation card, OR use fruits or veggies on your card or project. Because, that's how we roll! LOL! Here's the card I came up with:

here's the inside:

I knew I was going to use that sentiment, but needed a bunch of grapes to complete the image I had in my head for my card. Enter free clip art on the Google! That grape bunch is free clip art that I printed on the kraft panel, then colored using Prisma Color pencils. I used a white Gelly Roll pen for the highlights. I stamped the sentiment then doodled around it and the grapes. I know it looks wonky. but I wasn't going to re-do it, and, that's how I roll! LOL!

I hope you get a chance to play along this week at Shopping Our Stash! For more inspiration, please visit my teammies and our Guest Designer, Jennifer, and leave them some bloggy love! Just a reminder, if you are interested in being our guest designer for October, simply leave a "DT" after your name when you link up. Thanks for visiting, and I hope you have a great day!

SHOPPING OUR STASH #270 - Fairies and Angels

Hello all, and welcome! This week at SHOPPING OUR STASH, we challenge you to use fairies or angels on your card or project. Since I have a slew of fairy images, that's what I went with:

 here is the inside:

I've had this digi for a while, but it's the first I've colored her. I had everything colored except her dress, and was trying to decide what color to go with. Either red or green would be too overpowering, I thought. I considered gold. Then my hubby came into my craft room and suggested sapphire. (face palm) Sometimes the hubby is sooooo brilliant! LOL! Here's a close up, showing the Stickles on the wings, the flower centers, and the berries on the arm band.

Now it's your turn to play along at Shopping Our Stash! It's couldn't be easier: use a fairy or angel image and link it up! For more inspiration, check out what my teammates, and our September Guest Designer, Jennifer, have created for your viewing pleasure! Don't forget to leave them some bloggy lovin! Remember, we are looking for a Guest Designer for October. If you wish to be considered, simply add a "DT" after your name when you link up! Easy peasy!

JUST US GIRLS #361 Color Week

Hello and welcome! It's Color Week at JUST US GIRLS, and Nancy is your hostess. She's picked the colors BLACK, RED, and YELLOW for you to play with! Here's the card I made:

I'll admit that I was kind of stumped with these colors, until I saw the second card that Shery Russ made on her post here. (Thanks for the inspiration Shery!) I used an older set of leaf stamps and did the rock and roll technique using red and yellow ink pads. I used my MISTI to get good coverage with the leaves I stamped in black ink, then fussy cut them. I wanted the sentiment to stand out more, so I added a panel of yellow behind it.

Here's the inside:

SHOPPING OUR STASH #269 - Cut and Paste

Hello crafty friends! It's time for a new challenge at SHOPPING OUR STASH! This week, we want you to make a card or project using stencils and dies - no stamps allowed!  It's a lot easier than you might think! Here's what I came up with:

 Here is the inside:

I started by sponging white ink onto black cardstock using a paisley stencil. Once I heat set the ink, I hand drew all the eye sockets. Instant ghosts! I cut my panel to size and matted it onto purple foil cardstock, and adhered to my card base. I broke out my Slice die cutter for the die cut sentiment and larger ghost. Once I adhered them, I decided to carefully add some Stickles to the Boo. On the inside, I found a sticker in my stash to use.

So now it's your turn! Have some fun using those hoarded stencils and dies, and link up your project at Shopping Our Stash! For more inspiration, check out what my teammies, and our Guest Designer, Jennifer, have made, and leave them some bloggy lovin!

JUST US GIRLS #360 Trend Week

Hello crafty friends and welcome! It's Trend Week at JUST US GIRLS! Lisa is your hostess and she's picked a trend that has no intention of going out of style anytime soon: SEQUINS! Here's my take on this fun challenge:

I have a grand niece and nephew who are twins, and they have their 4th birthday coming up later this month. What better way to celebrate than with a shaker card for each of them with a cute hippo on it!

 here's the inside:

 the inside:

I made them pretty much the same, except for the colors, the type font I used to print the front sentiments, and just a couple things added for individuality. Sean's card has a googly eye on the hippo, and on Samantha's card, I added a few rhinestones. Of course, the shaker parts are bunches of sequins in various colors to correspond with the designer paper I used.

I hope you find some time to play along with us this week at Just Us Girls! For more inspiration, please visit the blogs of my teammates, and our Guest Designer, Kathy Schweinfurth, and leave them some bloggy lovin!

SHOPPING OUR STASH #268 - Mary Had a Little Lamb

Hello crafty peeps and welcome! This week at SHOPPING OUR STASH, we'd like to see farm animals on your cards or projects! Here's my card:

and the inside:

In another attempt to use my NBUS, I unearthed a stamp that I won at Kraftin Kimmie stamps in 2013, and yes, this is the first time it's been inked. (Can I tell you that coloring pig tails is very hard to do? This image was my 3rd attempt.) Here's a tip: if you screw up coloring an image, keep it, and use it to practice on for future color combos.

Ok, so it's your turn. Just create a card or project using a farm animal and link it up at Shopping Our Stash!  For more inspiration, please check out what the Design Team have created for your viewing pleasure, and please leave them some bloggy lovin! And 'hay'! We have a Guest Designer joining us this month! Please also welcome Jennifer Fahnestock and check out the adorable card she made!

Remember that we are looking for Guest Designers now! If you wish to be considered as GD for October, simply add "DT" after your name when linking up!

Thanks for visiting and I hope you have a great day!

JUST US GIRLS #359 - Word Week

Good morning crafty friends. I apologize for not having my post ready when it was supposed to. Let's just say life got crazy the last few days, and it was all I could do to get a card made, let alone blog about it. I had finally finished it yesterday in the early evening, took pictures, and then crazy time happened. After things settled down, I completely forgot to do my post, and went outside for some much needed time by the fire pit. UGH!!!

So, it's a new month, which means it's Word Week at JUST US GIRLS! Ina is your hostess, and she's picked the word TRAVEL as your inspiration. Here is how I interpreted it:

 and the inside:

Oh my goodness, it's another almost one layered card again. I must be possessed! LOL! Last week I received happy mail from my Snarky Sister, Lynne, and in it were these really cute circular map stickers. It couldn't have showed up at a better time, as I really don't own much in the way of travel schtuff. I die cut two sizes of circles: one slightly larger than the stickers in the same color, the other slightly larger than the first in scraps of colorful card stock. Each are popped up on thin foam squares. After stamping the sentiments, I rounded one of the corners.

I hope you get a chance to play along with our travel themed Word Week at Just Us Girls! As it's a new month, we have a new Guest Designer joining us! Please welcome Kathy Schweinfurth of Stamps at Play. Hello Kathy! Glad that you are joining us this month! For more inspiration, please do check out what my teammies created for this challenge, and leave them some bloggy lovin!

Remember, that if you are picked as Chic of the Week for any of our September challenges, you'll be in the running to be our Guest Designer for the month of November! Have fun playing along!

Supplies:
Stamps: Technique Tuesday - All Aboard
Ink: Memento - Rich Cocoa
CS: Darice; scraps
Accessories: Map stickers sent to me by the amazingly talented Lynne Mizera; GC; Std Sm & Lg Circle Nesties; Fiskars corner rounder
Adhesives: SA by 3L - Thin 3D foam squares

SISTERHOOD OF SNARKY STAMPERS #67 C is for Caffeine

Hello snarky peeps and good morning to you all! We have a new challenge starting today at the SISTERHOOD OF SNARKY STAMPERS, and it's all about caffeine! Coffee, tea, Mountain Dew, Monster Energy drinks - if it has caffeine in it, we want to see it! Here's my contribution:

 and the inside:

I used a recycled thank you note for my card. The 'I have issues' card is, I think, one of those Project Life cards. There's a thank you note on the back side from Cassie, the owner of Paper Issues stamps. I saved this because I knew it would find a home on a card eventually. It did.

I stamped the coffee rings on the card base then added the smaller panels all wonky like. I am not a coffee drinker, but a tea drinker. But I love the fact that the sentiment has the word wine in it, something that I definitely drink, and well, there ya go. The gal and the sentiment are NBUS items that I've bought earlier this year, and am just now inking them up. Sad, I know. Darnell's bowl of NBUS has nothing on the amount of craft supplies I own that have never been used. Again, so so sad.

Ready to get your caffeine high on and play along? Sure you are! Just link up at the Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers so we can see what your caffeine high made you create! While there, please do check out the blogs of my Sistahs and our newest Guest Designer, Michelle, and leave some bloggy lovin. Thanks for visiting!
