Here's the inside:
I really had intentions to make this a one layer card...but I just couldn't do it! I had to have at least one layer. So I did a lot of stuff to the main panel, and that's one layer!
(gratuitous shot of technique heavy layer)
First, I die cut the oval from some scrap paper, and used the negative as my mask. I stamped Snoopy first on the panel, then again on scrap, fussy cutting that one out to use as another mask. With my masks in place, I sponged three different distress inks over the oval, spritzed a bit with water to blend and add some water splotches and dried it with my heat gun. Then I stamped the celebrate stamp over that in grey flannel ink. I removed the masks, trimmed the panel to size and realized there was an awful amount of white space, and it was making me itchy. So out came the swiss dot EF along with an oval folder frame, and I ran that through my Grand Calibur. Soooo much better! For the inside, I took word stamps from a few different stamp sets to make my sentiment. I figured since the celebrate stamp on the front utilizes different fonts, then I could carry that over to the inside too. ☺ I am so proud of this card, with all the different things I did to achieve that image. Of course, when I showed it to my husband, explaining all the things I did, his eyes just started to glaze over and he said, "that's nice". Brainiacs - they just don't get it! LOL!
You know you have a gazillion critter stamps, why not ink one up and enter our Critter challenge at Shopping Our Stash? When there, please check out the incredible things that my teammates created, and leave them some blog love! Thanks for stopping by, have a great day!

Gotta love Snoopy, great card and a lot of work, great sponging. I can't make one layer cards either, sometimes not even two layer ones they seem to evolve.
ReplyDeleteI love this card, Chris! The swiss dot embossing on the front really elevates the design and adds not only depth, but texture! Of course, you cannot go wrong with any image of Snoopy! Great use of colors and a wonderful sentiment!
