SHOPPING OUR STASH #347 - No Ink

Hello and welcome!
Today starts a new challenge at
This week, we challenge you to create something
without using any ink!

I used nothing but die cuts for my card:

I used scraps of DP from a collection that's at least 3 years old.
My sentiment is cut using my Slice die cutter.
The bunny die cuts are admittedly new, but I actually
used them instead of putting them away and forgetting that I have them.
Bonus!

So, now it's your turn to create something without any ink on it. We'd
love to see it, so please link up at Shopping Our Stash
so we can admire it! If you need more ideas, simply visit the blogs
of my teammies to see their ingenious creations without ink!
Thanks for visiting, and I hope you have a great day!

SISTERHOOD OF SNARKY STAMPERS #106 - N is for Need Coffee

Hello and welcome!
Boy, Edna sure looks a bit worse for wear, eh?
Good thing she's got that ginormous cup
of coffee to kick start her brain. LOL!

And that is the theme for the new challenge at
N is for Need Coffee!

I'm a tea drinker myself, but I do have some
cute coffee themed stamps and dies in
my craft arsenal. Here's my take on the challenge:

here's the inside:

No snark this time around. I was stalking Pinterest for some
inspiration and came across this card by Kylie Bertucci. I thought
it was super cute so I cased it. (Thank you!!)
I doodled the hearts and the corrugated lines on the wrappers.
The to go cup is from the Gone Postal set by STAMPlorations, as
is the Thanks a Latte word die. The sentiment inside
was computer generated.
I hope you find some time to create something coffee related and link
up with the Sisters at the Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers!
For more percolating inspiration, do check out what my
Sisters came up with, along with our newest Queen and GD, Sharon!

SHOPPING OUR STASH #346 - Here Comes Peter Cottontail

Hello and welcome!
I hope all of you who celebrated St. Patrick's Day have
recovered from all the shenanigans (and drinking)
that holiday brings! LOL!

This week at
we are gearing up for the next big holiday: EASTER!
We'd love to see your Easter creations!
Here's the card I made:

I used a new stitch die for the first time.
(Well, I bought it a couple months ago, and
thought I'd better stop just looking at it
sitting on my desk, and use it!)
I did a lot of cross stitching in my 20's and 30's, so the floss
I've used is probably a good 25+ years old.
I couldn't find a tiny white pom pom in all the stash I have, so
I took a bit of a cotton ball, and rolled it around my hands
to make a tiny tail.
So there you have it, a bunny butt Easter card!
I hope that you find some time this week to join in
our Easter challenge at Shopping Our Stash!
We'd love to see what you come up with.
Thanks for visiting, and I hope that you have a great day!

Dreamer

Hello crafty friends!
This is one of those rare posts of mine that is just for fun, and not scheduled.
(Note to self: I need to do more of those)

I created this card a few weeks ago for possible submission to Craft Stamper magazine,
for the June issue, but sadly it wasn't picked.

Oh well, I'll keep trying!
But, it turns out if fits the current challenge at

Here's what I created:

For my cloud background, I used Tumbled Glass DI and for each cloud 'row',
alternated sponging the darker areas with Mermaid Lagoon and Broken China.
If you close one eye and squint, you may be able to see the subtle differences.
Being as how I'm a huge fan of dragons, the choice was a no brainer for me.
Using my MISTI, I achieved the blue-purple color they were looking for by
stamping first in Dusty Concord DI, then Blueprint Sketch DI over it.
I took it a step further by stamping VersaMark Ink and clear embossing it.
You can see the embossing in this pic:

I clear embossed the sentiment also.
So that's it for now. Thanks for visiting,
and I hope that you have a great day!

I'd also like to enter this at Craft Stamper March Take It Make It challenge

STAMPlorations Bloomtangled Cover Plates & Simply Sentiment Dies!

Good morning crafty peeps!
Today I'm excited to be a part of the
reveal! I'm sure you know that Shery created a coloring book
last year called Bloomtangled. Well she's wowed us
yet again with her brilliance and created some cover plate dies
from some of the designs in the coloring book!

Here are two cards I've made using two of the plates along with two of
the new Simply Sentiments dies:

My first card is pretty CAS. I started by cutting the Bloomtangled #1 cover plate from white card stock and gluing to a yellow card base. I die cut the Just Because phrase die 3 times, stacked and glued, then covered it with my Wink of Stella pen. Some black enamel dots and rhinestones
were added for some bling. (Gotta have some bling!)

and the inside using a sentiment from the Fond Expressions 2 set:

For my second card, after die cutting the Bloomtangled #2 cover plate, I used my Magenta
Nuance powder dyes as water colors and had some fun coloring the die cut.
This was also covered with Wink of Stella, but with my crack photography
skillz, you really can't see the shimmer. LOL!
The Thinking of you phrase die was cut a couple times. I took a couple ink pads and
dabbed them around one of the die cuts to color it, then stacked and glued them.
I added a coat of Glossy Accents for some shine.

and the inside using a sentiment from the Fond Expressions set:

Close up of the sentiment. I used rhinestones for the dots on the i's.

Aren't these cover plates amazing?!! I just love them!
For more gorgeous inspiration, please do yourself a favor

disappointed! Thanks for stopping by, and I hope you
have a great day!

SHOPPING OUR STASH #344 - Celebrate National Dress Day!

Welcome and happy Tuesday!
Did you know that March 6th is
To celebrate, the SOS Crew at
challenge you to add a dress to your project!

For my card, I stalked Pinterest and found this template that I
printed out onto the back side of the paper I used for my dress.
I thought a little black dress with pink polka dots would make
for an adorable dress. The ribbon I won years ago from May Arts. It's
a pale pink, although with my crack photography skillz, it looks more white.
I found a teeny little flower in my stash to add to the waist. So cute!

and the inside:

My sentiments are from a couple stamp sets that I just rediscovered.
(the fabulous stamp saw ink for the first time! NBUS!)

STAMPlorations March challenge - All About Spring and Faith

Hello crafty peeps and welcome!
It's March (how is it March already!), and the new monthly challenge starts at

And just to refresh you on what's going on:

You’ve probably heard that Ms STAMPlorations, Shery Russ, welcomed a daughter named “Winter” to the family in December. In order to give Shery a little time to catch her breath after giving birth and to adjust to daily life with two little ones in addition to running the store, we are going to take a little “Winter” break!

Rather than all of our normal monthly challenges, there will be just one challenge for you to join each month. You'll find it announced on the 5th of the month. The challenge will have a theme and as long as you follow the theme, any type of project is welcome! Then, we’ll return to our regular programming in May ;)

And now on to my card:

I stamped the Blossom Sprays 1 image
in VersaMark and gold heat embossed it onto water color paper.
Using Distress Inks and a water brush, I painted the flowers, and also
splattered a couple of the inks around my panel.
I heat embossed the sentiment from Fond Expressions 2 onto a
strip of vellum and attached on the back of the panel, then
adhered to my card base with foam squares.

Challenge rules:
*Create any type of project -- cards (any style), mixed media, tags, layout, etc -- as long as it follows our theme
*STAMPlorations product is not required though we’d love to see it
*Enter as many times as you want – as long as each project has its own blog post
*Display the challenge graphic + link back to the challenge page to qualify for the prizes
*Comment on the entry before yours in the gallery – let's spread the love. (If you're the first player, just comment on the entry after yours.)
*For an extra chance, comment on the challenge post and the designers’ blog posts throughout the month
Prizes:
*TWO (2) winners of a $25 gift certificate - randomly drawn from all entries
*ONE (1) winner of a $25 gift certificate - randomly drawn from all comments left on the designers' blogs throughout the month
Shery is offering a generous 10% off (no coupon code needed) all stamps, stencils, and dies in the store from Feb through April. Retiring products are excluded. We hope you'll find time to play with us and we look forward to seeing your project in the gallery.

Liked the stamps I've used? You can order them and use my special discount code:
