SHOPPING OUR STASH #252 - Sounds of the Sea

Hello and good morning crafty peeps! This week at SHOPPING OUR STASH, we want to see some type of ocean/beach/fishy/seaside scene on your projects! Simple, right? Here's what I came up with:

 Here's the inside:

Yep, that's right. Santa is on a tropical island, preparing to catch some of those tasty waves on his surfboard! LOL! After lightly sponging around the main panel with Tumbled Glass DI, I added the wave sticker, trimming to where I needed it to be and also carefully peeling up the glittery wave froth and repositioning them to fit the panel. I fussy cut a bit of kraft paper for the sandy island, edged with Walnut Stain DI and scribbled little bumps with a sepia marker.I even tore a bit of kraft paper inked the edges and adhered over the bottom of the surfboard, so it looked like it was stuck in the sand and not just hovering. After coloring everything with Spectrum Noir markers, the lights on the palm trees and Santa's hat have Crystal Stickles added for a bit of sparkle, and the shades have Glossy Accents applied to them for shine.

Close up of sparkle and shine

I hope that you get a chance to join us at Shopping Our Stash! We'd love to see how you interpret this challenge! While there, please do check out the amazeballs creations that my teammies came up with and leave them some bloggy love! Thanks for visiting!

  2. this is adorable, fabulous job. I love the one line sentiment on the inside, sometimes the verses are just too "Christmasy" I'm going to have to look for that one or print a bunch off on the computer.

  3. Chest hairs roasting in an open sun. Blue waves nipping at the shore. Though it's been said many times, all in fun - you've got talent, and more!
