SISTERHOOD OF SNARKY STAMPERS #43 K is for Kitties!

Welcome and HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!!! It's my favorite holiday, with Christmas coming in a close second. Edna is celebrating in her own way at the SISTERHOOD OF SNARKY STAMPERS. She is challenging you to use a cat or kitties on your project!

 Here is the inside:

Instead of a Halloween card, I decided to go with a Birthday card. I broke in a stamp that I've had for a few years but it was the first time it saw ink. I had much help with this card as I (again/always) stalked Pinterest for inspiration. I found this card by Monika Reeck and knew at once I had to CASE it. (Thanks Monika!) Of course, I put my own spin on it. I started by masking the front paws before stamping the cat onto that funky paper for it's body. (they were too low for the placement of the fishbowl, so I moved them up a bit) I stamped, fussy cut and glued all the bits together. I did color the stripes and nose with markers, because after cutting the eyes, ears, paws, tail and eyebrows, I said this is madness and colored them in. The fishbowl was stamped onto vellum, and I colored the back side with markers The fishbowl/front paws are jacked up on glue dots for some dimension. See?

Now it's your turn to crank out a card or project that features at least one cat on it. Just link it up at the Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers so we can be amazed by it. Don't forget to check out what the rest of the Sisters, and our two guest designers have created for your viewing pleasure! Thanks for stopping by and I hope you have a frightfully awesome day!

JUST US GIRLS #317 - Wild Card

Good morning all and HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!! (my favorite holiday by far) It's also the fifth Saturday in the month which means we have a Wild Card challenge at JUST US GIRLS! Sharyn is your hostess this week and she's wants to see your one layer cards! I have to admit, this was a challenge for me, as I must have layers on my cards. But I persevered and came up with this:

You'd think I would have made a Halloween card. Nope. Not me. Last week I drove out to help one of my sisters with her yard sale, (she lives 8 hours away in another state) and I brought cards to sell. (First time doing that, it was exciting, and I actually sold the handful of sympathy cards I brought with.) So I needed to stock up again. I had a lot of help on this card, basically because I stalked Pinterest and CASEd this card. (Thank you Melly Moo!)

I hope you get some time to play along with our Wild Card challenge at Just Us Girls. While there please check out what the other ladies have come up with. Also, this is Julie Gearinger's last Guest Designer post with us. Thank you Julie! Your cards are fabulous and we hope to see you in the gallery again!

FOR OCTOBER & NOVEMBER ONLY: If you win Chic of the Week in any of our October or November challenges, you will be in the running to be chosen as one of two Guest Designers for the month of January 2016! The Team will be taking a 2 week break in December, and therefore, will not have a Guest Designer for December.

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you have a great day!

SHOPPING OUR STASH #224 - Caffeine Fix

Hello and happy Tuesday to you all! This week at SHOPPING OUR STASH, it's all about getting caffeinated: using coffee or tea themed items on your card or project! Here's my card:

I don't care for coffee (I don't even like the smell of it), but I am a tea drinker, so that's what I went with. I dug through my massive pile of paper collections to find the one with an oriental flare. I used both sides of one paper from the collection, and just snippets at that. The patterns are so gorgeous, I think I've only used it once before. *cough - paper hoarder - cough*

Wanna play along? Sure you do. Just be sure to link up your card or project at Shopping Our Stash. Don't forget to check out what the other ladies made to inspire you! Thanks for stopping by, and I hope you have a great day!

SISTERHOOD OF SNARKY STAMPERS #45 - H is for (Pink!) Halloween

Hello and welcome! It's time for another challenge at the SISTERHOOD OF SNARKY STAMPERS! For the next two weeks, we want to see your Halloween projects. But not just any ol' colors, no. As a nod to Breast Care Awareness Month, we want to see PINK in your Halloween projects! We did this last year and had a great time with it, so we decided to bring the challenge back again this year! Here's the card I made:

 The finished inside:

Ever have an idea stuck in your head, and it won't go away until you do something about it? Yeah, that's how the stitched spider web came to be. That puppy is thick: 6 strands of black and 3 strands of silver floss! And bonus, it worked out better than I thought it would! LOL! The 'eek' is an old dimensional sticker, and the spider I die cut 3 times, stacked, glued and added googly eyes and Glossy Accents. Love it!

So, ready to try your hand at a pink Halloween project? Of course you are! Just be sure to link it up at the Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers so that we can be awed at your genius. While there, please do check out the amazing creations of my Sistahs and leave some love on their blogs! Our newest Queen is on vacation, so she will be joining us for our next challenge. JUST US GIRLS #315 - Color Week

Hello and good morning crafty peeps! It's COLOR WEEK at JUST US GIRLS, and I'm your hostess! With Halloween just around the corner, (and it being my favorite holiday!), I picked Purple, Orange, and Black for you to get creative with! Here's the card I made:

Here's the finished inside:

I'm on a shaker card roll apparently, and I had a lot of fun putting this card together. The background was sponged with a few Distress Inks and spritzed with some pearl Glimmer Mist. Then I went to town adding seed beads, micro beads, and shaped confetti for the shaker part. (Note to self: confetti is really static-y and even though I went over the background and the acetate with my anti-static pillow, they still stuck!) Oh well, it's still a fun card to shake! LOL!

I hope you get a chance to play around with these colors and link up at Just Us Girls! You'll notice that even though these are Halloween colors, some of the gals used them in a completely different way, and that's awesome! Please do check out what the design team, and our October Guest Designer - Julie Gearinger, have created for your viewing pleasure, and leave them some love on their blogs!

For October & November Only: If you are picked as Chic of the Week for any of our October and November challenges, you'll be in the running to be chosen as one of two Guest Designers for the month of January 2016! SHOPPING OUR STASH #223: I Can See Clearly

Hello and welcome crafty peeps! The new challenge at SHOPPING OUR STASH is all about using acetate on your card or project. This is a great way to make a shaker card, not that you need to make one. But I did. So here it is:

I found a package of 4" x 6" transparencies by Webster's Pages that I forgot I had (for a few years, at least) so I used one of them. The 'dream.Big.' was already printed on the acetate. (Score!) To add to that 'big' theme, I added the biggest butterfly die cut I have, using a paper collection I was lucky to win last year. (Love those comment to win blog posts!)

I hope you find some time to play along. You know you've been wanting to try making a shaker card. Here's a great excuse to try it out! Just link it up at Shopping Our Stash so we can see it. Be sure to check out the amazeballs creations from my teammies and leave them some bloggy love! Thanks for stopping by and I hope you have a great day!

JUST US GIRLS #314 - Trend Week

Good morning and welcome! It's Trend Week at JUST US GIRLS. Nancy is your hostess and she's picked STENCILS as your trend! It's still a very popular one, so we hope you have fun with it! Here are a couple cards I've made:

the inside:

My embossing paste started out white, but I smooshed Teal Zeal and Gray Flannel inks on my craft mat, then took some paste and blended the colors into it with my pallet knife. The sentiment was inked a couple times using my recently purchased MISTI. I LOVE this tool! The rest of the card is pretty self explanatory.

Here's card #2:

 and the inside:

I used that white embossing paste again for the skull stencil, and after washing off the stencil, I sprinkled neon green embossing powder over it, tapped off the excess, and let the paste completely dry before heat embossing.

I hope you find some time to break out those stencils and make something with them! Please be sure to link up at Just Us Girls so we can see your wonderful creations! While there, please check out what the Design Team and our October Guest Designer, Julie Gearinger, have made to inspire you! Remember, that if you are picked as Chic of the Week for any of our October & November challenges, you'll be in the running to be our Guest Designer for the month of January! Color Throwdown #363 - Guest Star Stamper!!

Hello crafty peeps! I'm excited to be the Guest Star Stamper for The Color Throwdown #363! And boy, were these some challenging colors to work with! Tammy described them as pale mint green, saffron yellow, and ivory. I've tried to match up these colors as close as possible with what I have in my stash. Here is the card I made:

And the inside:

I really searched my paper stash for these colors. (Apparently, I'm not a big fan of pastels! LOL!) I finally found a couple mystery designer papers hidden in a bin that stores papers dated 2010 and older! Whoa! The ivory paper has this amazing design on it, and I swear it feels like a thick, starched paper towel! LOL! The very pale mint green paper that I stamped on was soooo pale, I decided to accent it with a slightly darker mint green. I used the two green papers for the die cut leaves. The flowers were stamped and heat embossed in white on vellum, and the outline stamped and fussy cut from saffron cardstock and layered. The sentiments on both the front and inside are heat embossed in gold.

Ooooh! Shiny!

I hope you find some time this week to play along and create something with these pretty colors at the Color Throwdown! You should also do yourself a favor and check out the amazing creations the Design Team came up with! WOW! Thanks for stopping by and I hope that you have a great day!

SISTERHOOD OF SNARKY STAMPERS #44 - B is for BOOBS!

(Look at Edna's Ta-Ta's! Who Knew!!!)

That's right crafty peeps, this fortnight at the SISTERHOOD OF SNARKY STAMPERS. we are celebrating National Breast Cancer Awareness Month, so of course we had to do a challenge that focuses on boobs! I actually had no clue what to make until the other day, and only after stalking Pinterest for ideas. (Pinterest saves the day, yet again!) I found this template and wound up having a lot of fun putting my card together. Ok. Enough blathering. On to my card:

Here's the inside:

I did give my card some implants, as I thought the bra should be filled out more. *snicker* The lace started out white, but after I swirled it in a Dixie cup that had some drops of black re-inker added in, wah-la: black lace! I even found a bag of those tiny roses, hidden in a long neglected shoe-box-o-embellies! The inside sentiment, while not snarky, is a bit punny. And that's just fine by me. ☺

So, ready to make a boob themed card or project? Do you even need a reason to?! Just make sure you link up at the Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers, because you know we want to see it! Please be sure to stop by the blogs of my Sistahs in Snark, and our newest Guest Designer, Emily Leiphart, and leave them some love! Thanks for stopping by, now go get your craft on!
