SHOPPING OUR STASH #419 - Happy Mother's Day

Hello and welcome friends! Yours truly is hosting
over at SHOPPING OUR STASH! Mother's Day is coming up
on May 10th in the US and Canada, and so for the next two weeks,
we'd like to see your Mother's Day projects.

I decided to have a go water coloring using Magenta Nuance powder dyes:

I stamped and heat embossed the flowers in gold, then using
various powder dyes, water colored them, then added a blue wash
around the entire image. I had assembled the card before I remembered
that I had wanted to splatter some black ink over the panel. Plan B was to
stamp that dot grouping around the image in gray ink.

A simple sentiment finished the inside:

Ooh! Shiny!

I hope that you find some time to play along in our Mother's Day
challenge at Shopping Our Stash. We'd love to see your creations
in our gallery! If you are in need of more ideas, simply check out
what my teammies have created!
Hoping that you all are staying safe during this 'new normal'.

SISTERHOOD OF SNARKY STAMPERS #158 - U is for Upcycle

Hey all and welcome!
It's time for the new challenge at the
With Earth Day approaching on the 22nd, Edna and the Sisters
are looking for projects with UPCYCLING on them.
My paints have been sadly neglected as of late, so I pulled them out
to make some ATC's:

Here's a close up of all five of them:

My upcycled items? That would be the cardboard I cut down to use
and also the shells. (from Topsail Island, NC!)

Here are some process photos:

14" x 14" cardboard with a layer of gesso:

I cut out 12 ATC's and painted them:

Stenciled this fun image in coral paint. I got to the fifth
one and decided to stop there. LOL!
Added some gold paint around the edges.

Glued shells (from my collection):

Added the texture pebbles:

The last thing was to add the sentiment stickers then doodle around
them with a white Gelly Roll pen.

Ok, you lasted to the end of this photo heavy post. Congratulations!
Now it's your turn to re-purpose something and use it to make
something else! Upcycling! Be sure to link up at the
Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers so we can admire it!

STAMPlorations Theme & Photo Prompt Challenge reminder

Hello and welcome back crafty friends!
Just wanted to remind you that there is still plenty of
time to play along in this month's
This time around I went with just the theme and created
this cute shaker card:

Sometime a couple years ago I made a master board of clouds and this was the
last bit of it. I knew I wanted to use the oval Shaker Balloon #3 die and
decided to use this cute teddy bear image from the
Gone Postal stamp set. The balloon is filled with sequins from
the Bubble Gum Pinks Shaker Blends mix. The final touch is
the die cut Happy Birthday sentiment from the
Everyday Sentiments CUTplorations set.

SHOPPING OUR STASH #418 - Happy Easter/Happy Spring/Happy Passover

Hello and welcome crafty friends!
It's time for the new challenge at SHOPPING OUR STASH!
We do realize that both Passover already started and Easter has already ended,
but who couldn't use a little Springtime inspiration these days?
Here's my offering:

and the inside:

My inspiration came from this card. (Thank you Jean!)
I loved the two bunnies facing away and the use of the tiny pom poms.
That particular image was stamped twice then fussy cut so I
could layer the smaller bunny on top in a different color.
The sentiment was stamped onto a strip of green card stock
to make it seem they were frolicking in the grass.
Since these adorable wee bunnies seemed to multiply like, well, bunnies,
I made four additional cards. Hopefully, my family should have
received their cards last week. If not, surprise!

Ready to play along? Of course you are! Perhaps you created an Easter or
Passover card, or a Spring-y project and haven't blogged about it yet.
Here's your chance to link it up at Shopping Our Stash!
We'd love to see it! For more ideas, simply check out what
my teammies have created for your viewing pleasure.
Thanks for visiting.

I think I found my mojo again...

...but it took screwing up my back to do it, apparently.
Hi there. Let me explain. Back in my 20's, I screwed up my back, and had
to go through PT to help with a pinched sciatic nerve. Since
then, every so often I'll turn or twist a certain way and, BAM!
My back is hurting again. That happened yesterday morning.
Standing and walking sucks, but sitting is tolerable, so
to my craft room I went. For the first time since
last Saturday. I decided to use some of my NBUS items
that I've been hoarding. Here's what I made:

here's the inside:

The rose stamps (NBUS) are of the layering variety. (4 inks for the flower, 3 for the leaves)
I'm still trying to figure out layering stamps. These were the best stamped
flowers I made. (I stamped 3 of each) By the time I got to the leaves, I just
used all the ones I made. LOL! (And I fussy cut them all out
since I don't have the dies yet.)

That gorgeous blue background paper is also NBUS. First time opening up
that paper collection. I drew and cut out a diamond shape, inked the edges,
and ran it through a handwriting embossing folder. The
sentiment was heat embossed in white onto some black card stock.
After I adhered everything, I remembered I had some tiny pearls (also
NBUS!) and sprinkled some around the card. Stamped the
inside sentiment and called this done!

That's it for now. To those who celebrate, I wish you a Happy
Passover and a Happy Easter!

the 11th hour, and beyond

Yep, that's me again. Waiting until the last minute or beyond when
challenges are ended. And I even had this card made on, I think,
Saturday too. Couldn't be helped. We had a few days of absolutely
gorgeous weather, and I chose to spend it outside on my
deck and not in the craft room.
So here is my offering tonight:

here's the inside:

This card was based off of the now ended Tuesday Morning Sketch #548
and also for the (just about to end) Time Out Challenge #158.
(You'd think I'd have entered this sooner since 1) my dog has
epilepsy and 2) one of my nephews also has it.)
But like I mentioned on a prior post, my mojo has
exited, stage left.
But here I am now, squeaking in at the last moment! LOL!
Thanks for visiting, have a peaceful evening!

SISTERHOOD OF SNARKY STAMPERS #157 - R is for Retro

Hello and welcome snarky peeps!
We have a fun new challenge starting today at the
R is for RETRO!

I went old school with the images on my card. Millennials
might not even know what some of them are. LOL! Check it:

and of course, the snark on the inside:

Thanks to the hubs for coming up with the sentiment, as I couldn't
think of anything. I printed it out using a
vintage looking computer font.

We hope that you'll find your mojo and play along with our
Retro challenge at the Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers. We'd love to
see your take on it. For more ideas, check out what my Sisters and our

Bouncy, bouncy, bouncy!

Hello crafty friends and happy Friday.
I hope that you are all doing well and keeping safe
in these crazy times!
I'm finding that my mojo has been lacking as of late. Anyone else?
I seem to be starting a card, then not getting back to it for a few
days later....when the challenge I'm thinking of entering it
in has ended. Ugh!
Here's one of them:

and the inside:

This was the first time that these stamps were inked. Can you believe it?!
My card was based off of the now ended Freshly Made Sketch #428. Yep,
I started this at the 11th hour on Monday, and only got back to
finishing it today. I did have a minor glitch when first coloring....

Last week I took some time to refill about 20 of my markers. Apparently,
the one I used for the bunny's rosy cheeks was a bit over filled. Oops.
Then my mojo walked out until this afternoon, and I was
finally able to complete the card. Yay!

Well, that's it for now. Please stop by tomorrow as
the new challenge at the Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers starts.
and you won't want to miss it!

Thanks for visiting. Have a wonderful evening!
