Drunken Stampers #152 Thing: Metal

Good Morning to you! To those living in the States, I hope you all had a fabulous Thanksgiving! As always, I ate too much. LOL! Guess I really need to get back on that treadmill soon. Ugh!

Anyway, today starts a new challenge at the Drunken Stampers challenge blog! For our Person/Place/Thing challenge this week, it's a thing. Metal to be exact.

So, of course, I was maybe/sort of/kinda stretching it when I made my card for this challenge:

Here is the finished inside:

Shopping carts are made of metal, aren't they? (Anyone? Anyone? Bueller?) Well, that's my story and I'm sticking with it! ☺ I stamped a bunch of shopping bags from scrap paper and die cut the cart from gray card stock. I glued the bags to the inside of the cart before adhering it on the card with foam squares. The center of the wheels were hand cut circles from a scrap of black card stock. I purposely cut them wonky because, well, who has ever pushed a cart that didn't have at least one wheel go wonky! Yeah, you know what I'm talking about! I tied some floss to the handle, stamped the sentiment and finished the inside. Yep, I'm being me again, going with another snarky sentiment! LOL! I thought it fitting since yesterday was Black Friday! HA!

Well, that's it for me. Be sure to check out what the other members of Team Tropical Hooters came up with to delight and inspire you! Better yet, why not play along with the Drunken Stampers this week? You may even by crowned the Life of the Party! Woot Woot!

Have a great day and stay crafty my friends!

Keep Calm and.....

.... have a beer! I'm linking this up to the current Unity Stamps FWF challenge:

I tried the chalkboard effect with this awesome stamp and I gotta tell ya, I LOVE how it turned out! I usually finish the inside of my cards, but I left this one blank. Not sure how I'm gonna use it. I haven't played along with the FWF challenge for a while, so I thought it was high time I did so! LOL! Hope you get a chance to play along too!

Thanks for stopping by and stay crafty my friends!

Fa La La.....

Hello and good Sunday evening to you. I have a card to share with you using the (almost not) current Paper Smooches Sparks: Cool Shades Challenge. Yep, getting my entry in just under the gun. Story of my life. ;)

the inside....

...and the color challenge:

Nothing like stringing holiday lights around the house for the Christmas season! I stamped and fussy cut the light bulbs in the four colors and the top in some gold glitter paper. (you know, for some sparkle!) After gluing the top to the bulbs, I used a paper piercer to make the holes and strung gold floss through the holes. Adhered with foam squares, stamped the sentiment, and finished the inside. Done!

Ok, you still have a couple hours to get your entry in. What are you waiting for? LOL! Stay crafty my friends!

Santa just called....

Hello and happy Saturday! I hope that you are enjoying your weekend so far. The hubs and I went to see Catching Fire today and it. was. so. GOOD! (The books are even better - at least, I think so!)

I seem to have taken some time off from blogging, and the computer in general. I felt I was spending way too much time on Facebook and just stalking blogs. (ahem) It doesn't mean I wasn't crafting. Noooooooo. I just can't show you all yet what I was making. Well, maybe one thing. Here's a card I made using Stella Says Sketch #146:

(here's the inside!)

....and the sketch:

Stella has the best sentiments! LOL! I stamped and colored her with SN markers and added some highlights with a white Gelly Roll pen. (on the star, the ornaments and her glasses) Everything else is pretty self explanatory.

Well, time to feed my fur baby. Have a great rest of your weekend and stay crafty my friends!

Drunken Stampers Challenge #150: Person - Elvis

Good Morning friends! It's Saturday and that means a new challenge is up at the Drunken Stampers Challenge Blog! This week for our Person, Place, or Thing challenge is a person. That person is Elvis!

We challenge you to create a project based on Elvis, music, or you can go all out and combine BOTH! The Tropical Hooters team is up this week and here is what I came up with:

(here is the inside of my card:)

You can't read this without Elvis' southern accent, can you?! LOL! I admit, this challenge had me stumped at first. But when I started looking for Elvis clipart, I came across this image and knew right away what I wanted to do! I started with a white card base and covered the front with glitter paper. After printing out the image, I trimmed the main panel to size and adhered it with foam squares. I stamped the word bubble and thank you, fussy cut, and adhered with more foam squares. I then sprinkled the panel with gold sequins and clear rhinestones. I mean, really, doesn't glitter, sequins, rhinestones and Elvis go hand in hand?! ☺ I printed out the inside sentiment with a font that closely matched the font on the stamp and that was that!

I hope that you get a chance to play along this week with the Drunken Stampers! Please be sure to stop by the blogs of my teammates to see what they all came up with! Have a fabulous day!

Thank you. Thank you very much.

Believe....

Good Morning friends! I finally started making Christmas cards this week (procrastinating seems to give me better ideas! LOL!) and wanted to share one with you.

(here is the finished inside of my card:)

I was lucky enough to win this stamp set from The Alley Way Stamps and thought it was high time I used it! On my card base, I stamped three of the snowflake stamps with Versa Mark. I heat embossed the word believe then glued two wreaths above it (using two different colors of green card stock). This was adhered to the card base with foam squares after adhering the white panel to a slightly larger red panel. I colored and fussy cut the smallest cardinal stamp (isn't that cute little birdie adorable?!), and adhered it to the wreath on a thin foam square. Added some rhinestones, finished the inside and was done!

I have so many more Christmas cards to make that I'm sure I'll be locked up in my craft cave A LOT this weekend! LOL! Thanks so much for stopping by!

Good Morning! Yep, that's right. A big ginormous surprise Moxie Fab blog hop, to honor you, Cath Edvalson! You hopefully have made your way here via Lindsey at Bashful Blogging. Thank you....

Ok, this is my third, and final post today. For reals! The last card I made for the Paper Smooches Sparks DT Call. And since the rules stated that I could enter in the current Sparks challenge - Trend Watch: Stripes, that's what I'm doing also! Here's my card:

(The finished inside)

(Here is the inspiration picture:)

Ok, another loose interpretation of the picture. ☺ Other than the flowers and gray stripes, I did my own thing. I tried a new (to me) technique. I quilled flowers, using goodies that the amazing Jessi Fogan sent me. (Jess, I know these are very basic flowers, but I hope I did you proud!) I die cut the frame twice, from turquoise and white card stock. The bottom lines of the stamp are a bit off center from the top lines. I'm guessing due to space issues on the set. (Hey, there are a gazillion stamps in that set! In no way am I complaining!) No worries, I cut the stamp in half and realigned it before stamping on the white card stock. (Yes, you can totally cut your stamps - just be careful when doing that!) I die cut and second generation stamped the leaves, and glued everything down. I still felt it needed something, so I added a few rhinestones. Yep. That's better! Another sentiment finishes the inside.

Ok, I'm really done blogging now! LOL! Thanks for stopping by and I hope that you all have a great day and weekend! Stay crafty my friends!

COWabunga!

You may be aware that I have a slight obsession with Paper Smooches stamps. They are so whimsical and cute! The punny sentiments are awesome! So it's a no brainer that I'm trying out for the current SPARKS DT Call. Here is the second card I made for it:

(The finished inside of my card:)

(Here is the inspiration picture:)

So, I had the Shadows stamp set out, and it occurred to me that the big speech bubble looked like a surf board. Ok, I can make that work! I choose some red polka dot dp, and using the back side of the stamp, I stamped on the back side of the paper and fussy cut. (Did that make sense?) Originally I was going to use one of the doggies from the Woofers & Tweeters stamp set. Then a eureka moment hit me when I thought about the sentiment, cowabunga. Use the cow stamp! (Did you happen to see that bright flash of light over Maryland? Yep, that was my eureka moment! LOL!) I colored and fussy cut the cow, cutting off and reattaching her tail to give the appearance of motion. I used a wave punch on vellum for the water, tucking the surfboard behind some of the waves. After die cutting and stamping the streamer, I used Alphadots to stamp 'COWabunga!'

Isn't it amazing how a picture of a bedroom can inspire something completely different? Using the colors (red, green, white, and yellow-from the stripes in the stuffed animal's arms), some red polka dot paper, and my vivid imagination, I came up with this goofy card! I love it! I stamped the inside with a sentiment and another cow to complete my card.

Thanks for hanging out with me! It gives me great joy, not to mention an inflated ego, to read your comments! LOL! Have a great weekend my friends!

Jive Turkey....

Hello friends and good morning! TGIF! I have a card I'd like to share. Did you know that there is a SPARKS DT call going on at Paper Smooches! Yay! This is one of the cards I created for it:

(Here's the finished inside:)

(My card is based off of this picture:)

I was inspired by the colors and the way the tree surrounds the VW. Sort of like the turkey body being surrounded by the feathers. (Do you see it?) I added a stripe to the feathers because when I Googled pictures of turkeys, both real and clip art, most had the stripe on the feathers. Sort of drives home that tunnel effect. (See what I did there? Drive? VW? LOL! I'm such a dork!)

I did a bit of masking on this card. ☺ The cute turkey is colored with Spectrum Noir markers. I added photo corners before adhering onto paper that went perfectly with the colors of the picture, then my card base. Finished the inside and was done!

Thanks so much for stopping by! I've a couple more cards to post, so grab a drink and stick around if you can!

Drunken Stampers challenge #148: A Workplace

Hello and Good Morning! It's Saturday and that means it's time for a new challenge with the Drunken Stampers! This week we focus on a place, from our person/place/thing challenges: A Workplace!

We want to see how clever you are in creating your fabulous designs! Soooo many possibilities! My team, the Tropical Hooters, is up this week to dazzle you! Here is what I came up with:

...and the inside:

See what I did there? I put my snarky, sarcastic remark on the FRONT of the card, instead of the inside! Can you just picture a secretary saying this when fielding phone calls for her boss? LOL! I used paper, a sticker and miscellany from October Afternoon's 9 to 5 collection. Love that useless info sticker! I stuck it on some scrap kraft paper, trimmed to size, then adhered. After adhering the secretary die cut with foam squares, I hand wrote the sentiment in. (Of course, they are now called administrative professionals. I Googled it to be sure! ☺) Let me tell ya, I was relieved to find a tiny alpha sticker sheet in my stash that had enough letters to finish all the words! LOL! How did I get them relatively even? I'll tell ya: I started with the word 'day' and worked my way up. I used a ruler and stuck the letters on the edge of it. Then after eyeballing how they were lined up, I pressed the tops of them onto the card while carefully peeling the ruler away. Just went over them again with my fingers to make sure they stuck well to the card.

I hope you get to play along with the Workplace challenge at Drunken Stampers this week! Don't forget to check out what my teammates came up with! Thanks for stopping by and have a fantastic day!
