STAMPlorations Hey Love Hop & Linky Party!

Hello crafty friends and welcome!
Shery knocked it out of the park again with two new fabulous
love themed digital stamps!! You can color them up and link up and
link up to the linky party for a chance at some great prizes!

I couldn't choose which digi to use, so I made cards using both. LOL!
Here's the first one:

For this card, I printed out two images. The first one I colored, fussy cut,
added Nuvo Glitter Drops to the letters and let dry.
The second one I just colored around the edges of the flowers/leaves and
outlined around the image with a gray marker. The fussy cut image was
adhered over that with foam squares. It looks really cool IRL!

For my second card, I again printed the image twice, randomly
coloring one with pink/purple/teal markers, leaving some areas uncolored.
I colored the big heart on the second print then stamped the sentiment from
the Funny Kinda Love stamp set. I traced around it onto black card stock.
slightly larger, to create a matte for it. That was adhered with
foam squares also.

Now it's your turn! Just link up and/or leave a comment on all the
participating blogs for a chance at winning some great prizes!
Details are all on the STAMPlorations blog.

SHOPPING OUR STASH #412 - Winter Blues

Good morning and welcome back, crafty friends!
Today starts the new challenge at SHOPPING OUR STASH!
For the next two weeks, we want to see your
WINTER BLUES.
You can make something Winter related and/or use the color blue
predominately on your projects.
My card doesn't seem to have a whole lot of blue on it, but it does.
I didn't have any dye inks in my stash that seemed to go together well.
(trust me, I tried all the combinations. Nothing looked good to me)
I wound up using second generation stamping for the flower outline, then stamped
the stippled layers in first generation. To give them more of a blue tinge, I used
a very light blue Spectrum Noir marker to add even more color. The
leaves were done kind of opposite: I stamped normally the outlines, then triple
stamped the stippled layer in the same ink. Again using a very light gray marker
to add more detail. The matte and oval frame are blue card stock IRL, but with
my crack photography skillz, they look black.

Here's what the inside looks like:

A detail shot:
(pay no attention to the fact that I couldn't line up the layer stamps
correctly to save my life)

Now it's your turn! What does Winter blues mean to you? Show us
by linking up to the Shopping Our Stash gallery!

teammies created. Soooo fantastic!
Thanks for visiting. Have a great day!

Happy Birthday deer...

Hello and welcome crafty peeps!
Popping in with a very CAS card for me. (You know
how I love my layers!)

This is even, almost, a one layer card. Who am I?!!

I masked off the top and bottom of the card, then sponged a couple green inks
through the tree stencil. I bought this stencil about a year ago, (I looked it up),
and I can't believe this is the first time using it. (I checked my blog. Yep, first time!)
Before I removed the masking tape, I lined the top and bottom with a copper marker,
using the edge as a guide. I stamped, colored and fussy cut the deer and adhered
with foam squares. Finished with a simple sentiment. A very CAS guy card!

Well, the breakfast dishes are calling. and the maid needs to get off
her butt and wash them. (Yeah. I'm the maid. sigh)

Have a great day, and thanks for visiting!

STAMPlorations January Theme & Photo Prompt Challenge reminder

Hi all! Just popping in with a reminder about the January
I went with just the theme for this card, keeping it mostly CAS.

I started by splattering a few different colors of Glimmer Mist onto
the main panel. Using the big heart stamp from the Romantic Expressions 2
stamp set, I heat embossed three of them along the edge with some
glittery red embossing powder. The sentiment is from the same set.

So sparkly!

I finished the inside using the other heart stamp in the set, and a
sentiment from the Funny Kinda Love set.

There's so much more inspiration from my fellow design teammies
on the STAMPlorations blog! And of course, if you link up there's
a chance at winning some fabulous prizes!

Easy water coloring...

Hey there, it's a two-fer Monday posting!
Earlier last week, I watched this video by Bonnie and was inspired
to try my hand at water coloring again.
I used a hydrangea stamp from a set that I've had for at least
five years. I've never used this flower from the set before so
I challenged myself to use it.
I had the added task of making a mask for the hydrangea as the leaves
are a separate stamp. Other than that, I pretty much followed
along with Bonnie's tutorial, and Holy Crow, it worked!!

Here's the inside:

I have Marvy LePlume II markers (it's been so long using these
that many are dried out. I haz a sad.) In hindsight, I should have
used the medium green to stamp the leaves. I used the lightest color and
the details disappeared when I colored them, so I restamped them
with the medium green after it was dry. I used a scrap of black card stock
and die cut a rectangle matte that has a pierced border around it. I just
snipped both the long sides and adhered to the back side of the main
panel, then trimmed before adhering to my card base. If you enlarge the photo,
you may be able to see the detail. (crossing fingers)
A simple stamped sentiment and this card was finished.

Well, that's it for today. The laundry isn't going to wash itself and
the maid hasn't showed up. Wait, I'm the maid. Sigh...

Have a great day and thanks for visiting!

Limit yourself to only one drink...???

Hello and welcome crafty friends!
Popping in with a fun birthday card I made over the weekend:

Here's the inside:
(this card did not want to lay flat for picture taking, so, there
are my fingers holding it down. LOL!)

The main panel and strip behind it have these super thin mattes of black card stock,
but I love how that makes them pop.
And here is the first birthday card of the new year made. Yay!

My husband and I spent Saturday rearranging furniture in the three bedrooms,
the smallest room is my craft room. It no longer has a non-functioning
treadmill in it, and was replaced with the Ikea shelving unit meant for that space, which
was in the guest bedroom. The treadmill we put in our room, and the extra
dresser in there is now in the guest bedroom, where my shelf was.
All that make sense? Of course, we had to move other items of furniture
first to get those pieces moved around. And you know everything had to
be emptied/cleared off first. LOTS of stuff! So glad that's done.
Did some purging too. I now have more craft stuff to donate,
threw out things I have no idea why I was holding onto, and recycled
a mess of other things. It. Felt. GOOD!
All three rooms received a very good polishing and vacuuming. I'm
sore in places that I didn't know could be sore but
my goal to organize more is off to a great start!

Thanks for visiting! I hope you have a great day!

SISTERHOOD OF SNARKY STAMPERS #151 - H is for Headache

Hello and welcome snarky peeps!
Our first challenge of the year is H for Headache.
So, I had some fun with my paints and stencils and made an art journal page:

I found a meme with this sentiment and built my page around it.
(Note to self: find a less wordy meme in future!) Why? Because I
used an alphabet stamp set to stamp. every. letter. to. form. my. words. UGH!
Grab your beverage of choice. Here come some process pics:

One last look:

I hope that you get a chance to play along in our Headache challenge at the
Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers! We'd love to see your take on it. For more
inspiration, do check out what my Sisters, and our first Queen of the new year,
Julie, have created for your viewing pleasure.

Thanks for visiting. Have a great day!
