Hey Stud.../MM286

If you are looking for my Drunken Stampers post, please click here, or you can just keep scrolling down!

Good Morning and Happy Easter! I hope that you and your family have a joyous day! Today I'd like to share a card I made using the sketch from Mojo Monday #286:

The inside:

Here is the sketch:

I'd really love to try a round card, but until I get some large round dies, I will have to keep with the square or rectangular cards. I was in need of a masculine birthday card, so this is what I came up with. Love this Hey Stud stamp set! LOL! Just makes me giggle!

Well, that's all for now. I hope that you and your family enjoy your Easter Sunday and thanks for stopping by!

Drunken Stampers #121: Mr. & Mrs. Smith

Good Morning and Happy Saturday! It's time for the next challenge at Drunken Stampers #121: Mr. & Mrs. Smith!

As you may know, this term is all about the Movies! You can create a project based on the movie title, or use the sub-title (in this case, Spy Theme), or go crazy and use BOTH! It's Team Midnight Margaritas turn to dazzle you this week, so here's what I came up with:

And the inside of my card:

Ok. I'll admit it. I was COMPLETELY stumped on this challenge. I could not figure out WHAT to make with it. I was starting to sweat bullets (no pun intended!) when I received some happy mail on Tuesday. I had ordered the Studio Calico Deal of the Day from My Craft Channel, which included these chipboard speech bubble stickers. I kept looking at them. Putting them down. Looking at all my other stash. Looking back at the speech bubbles. Then finally I thought of using lines from the movie on them. So I Googled movie quotes and wa-lah! My card was created. I finished the inside with a sarcastic remark using alpha stamps. (Me? Sarcastic? But that NEVER happens!) LOL!

That's all I have for now. I hope you get a chance to play along with this week's challenge at Drunken Stampers! Don't forget to stop by the other members of Team Midnight Margaritas to see what goodies they came up with! Have a fantastic day and Happy Easter!

Design Team Throwdown #2 at Smeared and Smudged

Good morning all! Today I'd like to share with you a wall plaque that I made for the Design Team Throwdown #2 at Smeared and Smudged. This is the second round of the challenge that my fellow Drunken Stampers are competing in. Haunted Design House won the first round so they picked the theme for round 2, which is faux finishes. I stepped way out of my comfort zone of card making and came up with this wall plaque:

Here are some close up shots:

My faux finishes are the cracked glass technique, and the gold antiqued frame. After I stamped and colored Frankie, I heat embossed 4 coats of clear embossing powder over him. Then I put him in the freezer for a couple minutes, took him out and cracked the image. I went over the image with Walnut Stain to make the cracks stand out more. Holy Crow! This was wicked fun to do! The chipboard pieces are actually from two different albums that I had. For the frame, I painted it black, and when that was dry, I used gold chalk ink and rubbed it over the frame with my finger to give it that antique look.

For the larger piece, after painting the edges black, I covered it with some green patterned paper, stamped the bats and lace on it and inked the edges. Then I covered it in Mod Podge. Printed out my sentiment, cut out the words, doodled around them, and inked the edges. Used some foam dots to pop them up. Added red rhinestones and black flowers, and finished the wire with some ribbon.

I had a freakin' great time making this, and I'll definitely be challenging myself to 'think outside the box' and create other non-card items!

So, here's the thing. Each design team posts their three creations on the Smeared and Smudged DT Throwdown forum.YOU can vote for the design team who you think should be the winner of this contest! You DO have to join the Smeared and Smudged forum to be able to vote, but it's free and totally worth it! Voting starts tomorrow. I hope that you join and cast your vote for the Drunken Stampers team!

Make sure you stop by Jessi's and Spike's blogs to see what goodies they created! Thanks for stopping by and have a fantabulous day!

I'm also going to enter this in Moxie Fab World's Fall Home Decor Challenge!

Drunken Stampers #120: The Birds

Hello and good morning! I'm playing along with this weeks Drunken Stampers challenge #120: The Birds, even though it's not my team's week to play!

This term is all about the movies! You can either make a card based on the movie title, or use the sub-title, or try both! Here's my take on this challenge:

Here's the inside:

So, I wanted to use a creepy bird image, to pay homage to that fabulous creepy movie! And what's more creepy than a raven wearing a witch's hat and saying 'Nevermore'! LOL! I stamped the image twice, fussy cut the raven from one and adhered to the other panel with foam squares. (I did some distressing and inked the edges first) At the bottom of the card, I used a punch that allows you to weave ribbon, which I did with some purple ribbon. On the inside, I used my Slice to die cut 'trick or treat' and adhered. It was very strange to make a Halloween card so early in the year, but I couldn't think of anything else to put there to compliment the front! At least now I have one card done for that holiday! LOL!

Thanks for stopping by! Don't forget to check out the blog's of Team Bahama Mamas to see what crafty goodness they dreamed up for the challenge! Have a fantastic day!

You Rock/MFW:Speech Bubble challenge

Good morning all! Yesterday was the first day in over a week that I've felt better and more importantly, got a decent nights sleep! Woo Hoo!! I hadn't been posting on my blog much, but I have been crafting. This is a card I made for the Moxie Fab World Speech Bubble challenge:

Here's the inside:

This was a pretty simple card to make. I embossed the bottom half of the card with a wood grain EF. On the main panel I added some washi tape and some bling (gotta have bling!) I stamped a speech bubble then with foam squares, adhered a wooden die cut speech bubble inside of it! (A speech bubble in a speech bubble? Get out!) The inside was finished to match the front.

That's it for now. If you haven't done so, why not try your hand at one of the challenges at the Moxie Fab World? You know you want to! LOL! Thanks for stopping by. I hope that you have a fabulous day!

Easter Blessings....

Hello and good morning! I'd like to share a card I made for both Moxie Fab World's Emphasize the Negative Challenge, and for MFTWSC116:

Here is the inside:

And the sketch:

As you can see, I flipped the image on it's side. I wanted to make this more of a CAS card and I think I did ok with it. I used my trusty Slice machine to die cut the word 'Easter' on that oh so pretty striped paper, trimmed it to size, inked the edges and stamped 'blessings' under it. Then I adhered it over the darker blue panel with foam dots. I replaced the doilie element with a butterfly...and then added two more! Added rhinestones to their bodies to give the card a little bling! (Bling is good for the soul! LOL!) Finished the inside and I was done! A simple and pretty CAS card, if I do say so myself! ☺

That's all for now. I just heard the mailman outside my door so got to go see what he brought. I'm expecting some crafty goodness! (As I've said before, my hubby lets me buy all the craft supplies that I can hide! LOL!) Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!

MFW - Washi Tape Challenge

Good morning and happy Friday to you! I've been MIA this week as I came down with a nasty cold on Sunday and it's really kicked my butt! Still, I persevered and was able to make a few cards. This one I'm entering in the Moxie Fab World's Washi Tape Challenge:

Here is the inside:

My idea was to make a sort of sunburst from the washi tape. I also challenged myself to shop my stash and use products that I've had for, like, ever! The chick stamp I bought a couple years ago, and this was the first time it saw ink. I stamped it three times: on white card stock in Tuxedo Black and again in Rhubarb Stalk - stamping off first on some scrap so it was more pink. Then on the patterned paper. I fussy cut and adhered. The patterned vellum is another item that I've been hoarding for ever. Pulled that out and die cut the lacey circle from it. (It's hard to see in the picture, but there is a pattern of pink swirls on the vellum) Embossed the bottom part of the panel with Swiss Dots, added some twine, and popped the chick on some foam dots. I finished the inside with some more washi tape and a sentiment.

Oh, if anyone knows who the manufacturer of the pink dots and orange striped washi tape, can you let me know?

That's all for this post. I have another one to post so stay tuned! Have a great day and thanks for stopping by!

bunny love.../MM285/PSSparksCoolShades

Good Morning my peeps! Well, not so good for me. I came down with a cold yesterday, and am NOT liking it one bit! So, before I get really bad, I wanted to post this card I made for Mojo Monday #285 and Paper Smooches Sparks challenge: Cool Shades:

and the inside:

Here is my inspiration:

I love these colors! They just scream SUMMERTIME!!! I'd be happy with Springtime. We had snow flurries here yesterday, then it turned to rain. Blah! I'm so ready for flip-flop weather!

I've been on an Easter card making kick and so here's another one! Yes, I used Paper Smooches stamps again (can't get enough of these stamps!) but used this adorable bunny from an older set. I even used some new PS dies! Woo hoo!

Well, that's all I have for now. I hope I can take a nap sometime today. (something that I NEVER do, but seriously need to do) Having insomnia along with a cold really, truly sucks! Thanks for stopping by and I hope that your day is better than mine! LOL!

Cool Beans.../PS Sparks Designer Draft Challenge

Good morning and Happy St. Patrick's Day! Time for corned beef and cabbage, and green beer! LOL! Today I'd like to share a card that I made using the sketch from Paper Smooches Sparks - Designer Draft Challenge:

and the inside:

Here is the sketch:

Yeah, I put my own spin on it! I used a bunch of Paper Smooches stamp sets for this card. I also did some masking for the sentiment. And I used scraps too! Woo hoo! That scrap pile is slowly getting smaller! I stamped the bunny twice, in pink and white, cut out the teeth and adhered. After stamping all the jelly beans I took a gray marker and drew some shading on them and the bunny, then fussy cut everything. I had a happy accident with the masking. I left a couple little black spots under the word 'cool', so I just covered them with the rhinestones. And the best part? Those gold glitter shades on the bunny!!! ACK!!! That's one cool bunny! Elton John eat your heart out! LOL!

That's it for now. Thanks for stopping by and have a great St. Paddy's Day! Erin Go Braugh(less)! LOL!

Hoppy Easter...CTS#19/CFC#94/CTD#233

Hello all and Happy Saturday to you! This is my second post today. If you are looking for my Drunken Stamper's post, you can click here, or just keep scrolling down!

For this card, I'm combining three challenges: CTS#19CFC#94, and CTD#233.

and the inside of the card:

Here are the challenges I played along with:

The sketch, the colors and the key element, all provided and accounted for! This card came together pretty quickly for me. (I know! Almost unheard of in my craft cave!) And I used up some of my scrap paper! Bonus!

That's all for now. Hubby and I went out for some lunch earlier today, then stopped at the grocery store to pick up a few things. (Mainly the corned beef and cabbage for tomorrow's feast!) Got to have that on St. Paddy's Day! Took the fur baby for a long walk before it started to rain, and now I'm off to my craft cave to get crafty! Have a wonderful day!

Drunken Stampers challenge #119: Grease!

Hello my peeps and welcome to another week with the Drunken Stampers! We are on challenge #119: Grease!

This term is all about movies! You can either design a card based on the movie title, or use the sub-title, or go crazy and combine BOTH! This week my team, The Midnight Margaritas, are up and this is what I came up with:

and the inside of the card:

I have a few classic car stamps, but they are all sooooo tiny! I needed something bigger! So, riffling through my paper collections I came across this classic car sticker from Echo Park's Happy Days collection! PERFECT! I stuck it on some scrap white card stock, cut around it, and stuck it on with some foam squares. But before I did that, let me give you the breakdown of this card! I trimmed a panel in gray card stock, stamped the music score on it (because this is a musical, after all!), and embossed it with a diamond plate embossing folder. Then I used some Ranger Walnut Stain and went over the diamonds to make it look like it's been walked over a lot with greasy boots! (as in a mechanic shop!) Trimmed a white panel, hand drew and colored the lightning bolt, stuck that onto yellow card stock that I trimmed with pinking shears, and adhered to the card. Cut out a "dark cloud" form from the black patterned paper, inked the edges and adhered. Added a red boarder sticker. Used my alpha stamps and stamped 'greased lightning!' trimmed, inked edges and popped that up on foam dots! On the inside, I used my alpha stamps again for the inside sentiment and finished with more boarder stickers! How friggin' awesome is that!!!

So I hope I have you all in the mood to get crafty and play along with this weeks Drunken Stamper challenge #119: Grease! Make sure you check out the other Midnight Margaritas as well to see what crafty goodness they all dreamed up!

Thanks for stopping by and I hope that you have a fantabulous day!

Happy Easter/RS#54

Good Morning my peeps and Happy Friday! I feel like I've lost my mojo all week, but luckily it came back last night. I made this card for the Retro Sketches #54 challenge:

Here is the inside:

And the sketch:

For the most part, I followed it pretty closely. Just a pretty CAS Easter card. I finished off the inside as well. To me, a card isn't finished unless the inside is done too!

It's already the 15th of March! This month seems to be flying by and Easter is just around the corner. What?! Get Out! Yepper! I still need to go to the grocery store and pick up some corned beef and cabbage for St. Paddy's Day! Just like posting this card on the day the contest ends, I've waited until the last second to pick up food. Such is my life! LOL!

That's all for now. I may get inky later on today - who knows! Thanks for stopping by and I hope you have a great day!

Sweet 16.../Drunken Stamper #118/SSSC#179

Good morning my peeps and welcome to another week with the Drunken Stampers! It's all about the movies this term and this week's challenge is challenge 118 - Sixteen Candles (birthday).

You can make a card based on the movie title, the sub-title (birthday) or go all wild like and do both! It's my off week but I still wanted to play along with Team Bahama Mamas. Here's what I came up with:

and the inside:

I based my card off of the current sketch from the Sweet Sunday Sketch challenge #179.

I loved this sketch for the big round element on it. It was perfect for using a negative die cut! Got out my handy dandy Slice machine and went to town! Hand cut the pennants, added some twine (love me some twine!) and some bling and called it a day!

If you haven't checked out the Drunken Stampers challenge blog, what are you waiting for?! You could be deemed "The Life of the Party"!! Don't forget to check out what Team Bahama Mamas have made and please visit their blogs and leave some love! Thanks for stopping by!

Hello and happy Thursday to you all! Just wanted to share a card I made for the Catch the Bug challenge blog - anything goes:

and the inside:

This is being sent to a friend that I usually see a few times a year. Wish we didn't live so far away from each other but we have fun when we get together! That's all I've got for now! Thanks for stopping by and I hope that you have a great rest of the day!

My Love.../PS Sparks Challenge: Picture Perfect

Hello my friends. I hope that your Sunday is going well. I am hurrying to get this posted as the challenge ends in a couple hours. ;)  I made this for the current Paper Smooches Sparks challenge: Picture Perfect. I have been agonizing over the inspiration picture. It's really thrown me for a loop! Anyway, here is what I came up with...finally:

and the inside:

Here is the inspiration picture:

It's totally adorable! But I was drawing a blank all week on how to interpret it. Finally, at the (almost) last minute, I zeroed in on the background with the roses and light green. And I thought 'I have paper like that somewhere!' So after racking my brain to remember where I saw it, I dug the collection out of my paper stack. (yes, I'm a paper hoarder, it's a sickness....really!) Le' Romantique by Graphic 45 to my rescue! There is a page of die cut frames and I used the one that resembles the background. The rest just fell together...luckily! I used the new Paper Smooches dies that go along with the Reflections set. I stamped off the images first on a piece of scrap paper before stamping on the die cuts. Added a little lace, a sentiment, some pearls for the flower centers and done! Nothing like working under pressure to get your creative juices flowing! LOL!

So that's it for tonight. I hope that you have a great evening. Thanks for stopping by!

Celebrate.../CTD#231/CTS#17

Hello and happy Saturday! This is my second post today. If you are looking for my Drunken Stampers post, you can either click here or just keep scrolling!

This card I made using the colors from Color Throwdown #231 and the sketch from CAS(E) This Sketch #17:

and the inside:

Here are the challenges:

So I kind of flipped the sketch image on end. Sorta. The saffron rug represents the longest rectangle, the picture frame is the itty bitty one, and the hexagons the mid sized one. In the light of day, I see I should have glued the chair closer to the picture frame. (I blame the wine I was partaking in last night while making this! ☺) Oh well, I still love how this turned out! Did some paper piecing on the chair and picture frame. Oh, and that wine bottle sitting in the chair? That is actually one of the vase images in the Vogue Abode set I used from Paper Smooches. I just colored the outline with a black marker omitting one of the designs inside the vase and wallah: instant wine bottle!

Well, that's all for now. Back to switching out the laundry. Ugh! Thanks for stopping by!
