SHOPPING OUR STASH #388 - Ode to Jessi

Hello crafty friends and welcome!
This fortnight at SHOPPING OUR STASH, we are
paying tribute to one of our own teammates, Jessi Fogan,
who lost her long battle with gastroparesis in December.

For this challenge, we'd like for you to visit Jessi's blog, and make
a project inspired by something Jessi made. Please do include a link
back to her blog so that we can see the project that inspired you.

As you may know, Jessi was such a creative soul, and she loved incorporating
different forms of art in her projects. One of them was quilling. She made
the most amazing quilled projects! For my card, I was inspired by
this gorgeous card she made. I did my utmost best to case it as close as I could.
From the smooshed panel, the quilled flowers, to the hand dyed ribbon and
beaded pins.

Here's another angle:

I hope that you'll join us in honoring Jessi's memory by creating
something of hers that inspires you, and link up at Shopping Our Stash.
Also, with this challenge, we are changing from a weekly format
to every two weeks, so as to give you more time to play along.
We look forward to seeing what you create in our gallery.
Please be sure to visit my teammies to see all their gorgeous
creations inspired by Jessi!
Thanks for visiting, and I hope you have a wonderful day.

SISTERHOOD OF SNARKY STAMPERS #127 - V is for Valentine

Aww, Edna is in the mood for love. (Yeah right. LOL!)
This fortnight at the SISTERHOOD OF SNARKY STAMPERS is,
you guessed it, V for Valentine.

As always, snark is not mandatory, but you know I couldn't resist...

I used Nuance powder dyes to start my panel.
I even made my own stencil specifically to create a Bokeh effect background.
Once the white ink was heat set, I stamped my sweet sentiment and image in
black ink, stamped over it again in Versamark, and heat set in clear EP.
It was only after I finished my card that I realized the two challenges I was going
to enter this at ended two days ago.GRRRR!
Oh well, maybe next month. LOL!

Since V-Day is upon us, I hope you'll join my Sisters and our
newest Queen & GD Kylie, as we celebrate the holiday at the
visiting, and I hope you have a fabulous day!

Hello and happy Thursday to you.
I've been kind of silent here in the blogiverse, but trust me,
I've been creating schtuff...ya just can't see it yet. ☺

But this one you can. Over the Christmas break I wasn't so
much creating cards, but I did spend some time coloring various images.
This adorable Petunia Sprite was one of them:

Anyone else ready for Spring? Yep, me too!
This sweetie is colored up using Prismacolor pencils. She also was winked by Stella,
but with my amazing photography skillz, you can't see that. LOL!

Welp, guess it's time to go clean something, or dust something, or something.
Thanks for visiting. Have a fantastic day!

SHOPPING OUR STASH #387 - Inspired by Quilting

Good morning crafty peeps and welcome!
Did any of you get to see the 'Super Blood Wolf Moon' last night?
The lunar eclipse was pretty awesome to see.
I actually stayed up and tried to take pictures, but
all my pics came out blurry, as the high winds kept me from being steady
with my camera. (Plus it was -1 outside, so I wasn't out long.)
Oh well, it still was gorgeous to see!

This week at SHOPPING OUR STASH, Mimi is your hostess with the mostess,
and she picked the theme quilts as your inspiration!
Here's my take on the challenge:

and the inside:

I used a much neglected quilt die and cut from four different patterned papers and four
times in white card stock. After gluing the white frames to the card bases, I arranged my
designs and glued. all. of. those. pieces. back. in. place.

Then, since I still had the frames from the DP and white bits, I pieced
four more cards!

On two of these cards, I first arranged the bits on some scrap paper and spritzed
them with a couple colors of Glimmer Mists, to break up some of the whiteness.
After I assembled these, I felt they still needed something, so I broke out a
butterfly punch and, using another scrap of paper from the collection,
added some butterflies. Much better!

That's 8 cards! All painstakingly paper pieced! Gah!
I don't think I'll be attempting that again any time soon.
My eyes still haven't refocused yet. LOL!

So now it's your turn to create something inspired by a quilt, and link up
at Shopping Our Stash! We'd love to see your take on the challenge.

SHOPPING OUR STASH #386 - Hearts on Fire

Hello and welcome crafty friends!
I'm your hostess this week at SHOPPING OUR STASH,
and the challenge is to use a heart or hearts on your project!

Here's what I came up with:

and the inside:

I've definitely shopped my stash for this card, as the stamps and DP used are
both from 2013! I colored up that cute tea cup with my Spectrum Noir markers, and
Winked the heart and steam for a bit of shimmery goodness.
I went all out with the hearts and sponged grey ink over a heart stencil for the
top layer. The sentiment was heat embossed in white on a navy strip which
matches the card base. Love me some layers on a card! LOL!

So now it's your turn to grab your heart supplies and create something
with them. We would love to see your link at Shopping Our Stash so we can admire it!
For even more fabulous ideas, do check out what the other DT ladies have
come up with to wow you!

SISTERHOOD OF SNARKY STAMPERS #126 - B is for Books

 Hello and welcome snarky peeps!
The SISTERHOOD OF SNARKY STAMPERS is back from their
holiday break, and raring to go this year!
The first challenge of 2019 is something near and dear to my heart:
B is for Books!
For my card, I used a new (to me) die from Lawn Fawn called Double Slider Surprise.
You pull the tab and....

Ta-da!

If you watch the how-to video, you'll discover that the item used to make
the slider mechanism work is a poop bag! Once it was assembled
I attached it to a standard A2 card base, and stamped
another book related sentiment on the inside.

I hope that you find some time to join in our Book challenge at the
Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers! We'd love to see your take on it. Need
more ideas? Do yourself a favor and check out what my Sistahs, and
our newest Queen and GD - Cornelia, have created for your viewing pleasure.
Thanks for visiting. Have a fantastic day!

SHOPPING OUR STASH #385 - Winter Blues

Hey there and hello!
It's the first challenge of the new year at
The SOS crew is feeling the Winter Blues
and that just happens to be our challenge this week.
We'd like to see either see Winter themed or predominately blue colored
projects. I managed to create a one. layer. card!
(I know, right? Don't faint!)

Here's the inside:

I hadn't planned on adding the stamped border around the edges, but
I managed (twice! this was my second attempt!) to leave a smudge. Again.
I was determined not to scrap yet another card, so I covered my
oops with the border stamp to hide it.
After I thought I finished my card, I decided to add some
Crystal Stickles randomly on the trees, because, why not?

OLC's are my kryptonite, but I managed to make this work. LOL!
Now it's your turn. We'd love to see your take on our
Winter Blues challenge at Shopping Our Stash. Looking for more inspiration?
Simply check out what my teammies created and leave some bloggy
lovin' while visiting!
Thanks for stopping by. Have a great day!

It's time for STAMPlorations January Theme & Sketch Challenge!

Welcome and Happy 2019 to you, my friends!
I hope that your holidays were happy and relaxing.
It's a new year, a new month, and a new

I've combined both the theme and sketch for my card:

here's the inside:

I started with a panel die cut using the Crazy Double Running Stitch Rectangle Nesting die
and stamped around the edges using an image from the Mixed Media Grunge set.
I stamped the postage stamp image twice, on kraft and white card stock, from the
Gone Postal set. On the white image, I sponged a light green ink over it then stenciled
the Leaves 1 ARTplorations stencil in a darker green. The inside of the stamped
image was fussy cut along with the image in kraft. Setting those aside, I stamped,
colored and fussy cut the deer from the Woodland Friends set.
I stamped the Say It Big - Choose Happy sentiment, along with the postmark from
the Gone Postal set, arranged the postage stamp and deer and adhered using
foam tape. The inside sentiment is one from the Woodland Friends set.

Ready to play along? Of course you are!

  • Players can link up to 6 projects -- any type of project is welcome as long as there is stamping.
  • Projects must be based on the theme, sketch, or both.
