SISTERHOOD OF SNARKY STAMPERS #101 - T is for Technique

Hello hello!
The next two weeks are brought to you by the letter T-
as in T for Technique!

We want you to try a technique, any technique. Either one that you love to do,
or perhaps one that you've yet to try. Easy peasy!

For my technique, I tried using a Gelli plate for the first time.
I'm not gonna lie, it won't be the last time.
I had a blast pulling prints! I was lucky to have won a
starter kit last summer, and never got up the nerve to try it out, until now.
My plate is only 5" x 5", but for now, I'm happy to play with that. I made
12 prints so far, and made a couple cards out of them.

Here's the first one:

 and the inside:

Here's the print I used.

All the prints. This is the first print.

 the second print:

the last print. Some I like, some not so much. But I'm still learning.
(sorry for the crappy pictures. I was using my phone camera, and yes,
these are drying on my treadmill. What else do you use a treadmill for?)

I forgot to take a close up of the next print, but here's the second card I made:

I've used a variety of stencils, bubble wrap, and even the cap from a deodorant stick! HA!
Of course, there HAD to be some snark on these babies!

So, now it's your turn to play. Use a favorite technique, or try something new. Just
link up at the Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers so we can see what you made!
Looking for some inspiration? Simply visit the blogs of my Sisters, and this year's
first Guest Designer, Toni, to see what they came up with!
Thanks for visiting, and I hope you have a great day!

  1. Excellent cards, Chris! Never tried Gelli printing, although I always love to see the results. May have to steal those sentiments, Jo x

  2. Fabulous cards, I haven't bought or made a gelli plate so I have no experience but your backgrounds are awesome. Love the snark too.

  3. Wonderful cards and backgrounds. I've never tried gelli printing and I have serious stash envy now.

  4. Gelli plates are fun, huh? :D I also like that I get to use stuff I have (a lot from the teaching era) that I don't use much otherwise, especially acrylic craft paint. (Looks like you have the good stuff! Teachers tend to buy supplies on the cheap when possible...) Seeing your awesome cards, I think it's time for another printing session!

  6. I was lucky enough that a friend brought her gelli plate when she came to stay last year and I had sooooooooooo much fun pulling! You certainly got some great ones here Chris. Lots for later on too. Both cards are fabulous especially with the sentiments.

  9. Both of these are so cool! I have not tried a gelli-plate yet-- I've been warned I'll be addicted, and so because I already have craft addictions, I'll hold off as long as I can! But yours look super-cool, friend. Haha, yes: that's what treadmills are for, and for hanging laundry!
