JUST US GIRLS #363 - Word Week

Hello crafty friends! Can you believe it's already October?!!! Where did the year go?! I swear it was just April a couple days ago. Geesh! Anyhooo, it's Word Week at JUST US GIRLS and Sharyn is your hostess this time around. She's picked the word LEAVES for you to be inspired by. You know you all have stamps/dies/DP/ribbon, etc. with leaves on them. Time to get them out and have fun making something awesome! Here are the two cards I've made:

I used some more of my hoarded stash!! Woo hoo! I bought this cutting plate earlier in the year and I finally used it. I started with two panels of white card stock, and smooshed them into various inks on my craft mat. After I dried them with the heat gun, I die cut the leaves and glued them onto their card bases. I use kraft and dark brown for my bases. After stamping the sentiments (heat embossing one of them), I used decorative scissors to trim one side. One was wrapped with twine, the other I adhered over some gold floss, both received some sequins for a bit of sparkle.

I hope you get the chance this week to play along with our leaves challenge at Just Us Girls! Need more inspiration? Simply check out what my teammies came up with to awe you! Also, since it's a new month, we have a new Guest Designer joining us! Welcome Jaydee! Looking forward to seeing what you come up with this month!

Just a note: If you are picked as Chic of the Week for any of our October challenges, you'll be in the running to be our Guest Designer for the month of December. Hope to see you in the gallery! Thanks for visiting!

  4. Dude, I love both of these-- I am a sucker for that taupe-y color, but the black yields such a striking result. That is one bad-a$$ die! (Can I say that???) Cheers!

  6. Chris, I love the die cutting plate and you showcased it beautifully. It works really well against both backgrounds, but do like the dark the best - it really makes the leaves pop. Fabulous card. Thanks for having me along as GD this month

  12. That background die turned out beautifully by smooshing it in inks! This is a fantastic design. I really like that gold twine you used on the one.
