Shopping Our Stash #163: Splish Splash!

Hello and happy Tuesday peeps! You survived Monday! Yay! ☺ Today starts a new, totally fun challenge at SHOPPING OUR STASH! We'd like for you to use some type of wet media - for example: spray inks, watercolors, acrylic paint, india ink, water soluble crayons, etc. -- in any way at all, either as a background or with stamps as a focal point...you get the picture. ;) Since I don't have any of these things (well, I had some acrylic paint, but it was soooo old it dried out, so I had to throw the tubes out.), what I did was use Distress Inks as my 'paint'.

here's the inside:

Yep, I did another sort of CASE of one of Jen Shults' cards. (I just kept coming back to this post to drool over the cards she made!)

But I digress... I trimmed watercolor paper to the same size as the birch tree die cut. Smeared four colors of Distress Ink on my craft mat and spritzed with water. After wetting the watercolor paper, I used a paint brush to 'paint' on my colors for the sunset. When the panel dried, it curled up like a half-pipe. I tried something new (to me) and ironed it with my iron. (between some blank paper, of course, because I use the iron to actually iron clothes...on rare occasions.) After I got it all nice and flat, I spritzed some pearl Glimmer Mist on it. Luckily when that dried, the panel hardly curled at all. It's hard to see in the first pic, so here's a close up of the shimmer. (and, yes, it's hard to see in this pic also. I suck at taking pictures)

Ready to get your hands (and most likely your clothes too) all inky? Of course you are! Just make a card or project and be sure to link it up at Shopping Our Stash! Please be sure to check out what my teammates created for your viewing pleasure!

Now go forth and get your craft on!
