Shopping Our Stash #138: Oh, Shiny!!

Good morning and welcome back to another challenge at Shopping Our Stash! This week, your challenge is to use items from your stash that are shiny, shimmery, and/or sparkly! Who doesn't love some sparkly goodness! HA! Here is my card:

the finished inside:

My picture taking and photo editing skillz fail to capture just how incredibly shimmery this card is. That back panel was custom made by me using Jessi's Faux faux patina tutorial. (There's a lot of steps and items needed to make it, so I'll just have her explain the process herself!) Trust me when I tell you, it sparkles, shimmers, and shines! The mermaid was colored with Spectrum Noir markers, then I went all technical again and used the Fran*tage' encrusted jewel technique for the sand. More sparkle! I found a piece of this mesh ribbon that I was going to use on something last year but never did, so I added that under the main panel. Oh, and don't pay any attention to the top right corner of the card, where there's a bit of paper missing from the background panel. As I was trimming the last edge, the paper snagged and the trimmer ripped it off. SONOFA! After I had the card assembled I thought about Fran*taging that corner, then said, Naaaa! (in other words, that was me being lazy.)

Anyhooooo, I hope you get a chance to play along with our challenge this week! Don't forget to check out what my teammies created! You won't be disappointed! If you make something with sparkle, shine, or shimmer, be sure to add it to our linky! Thanks for hanging out with me this morning. Now, go get your craft on, my friends!

  3. *ahem* repeat after me: I TOTALLY MEANT TO DO THAT! See? You are welcome.

You are da technique-following Queen! I don't have the patience for things with more than 3 steps. Even the "let dry" thing makes me itch. I do love all the shiny, though. :)

  4. Oh, been there, had that happen when trimming a panel. HATE when that happens. If it's just cardstock, that's one thing, but this awesomesauce handmade sparklicious panel? Of course no one's going to notice that little nick UNLESS YOU POINT IT OUT. So don't. Gorgeous card, Chris!
