Shopping Our Stash #136: Cabin Fever (something outdoors-y)

Hello and welcome back for another fun challenge at Shopping Our Stash! This week's challenge is to make a card or project with an outdoor theme. I don't know about you, but I'm soooooo over Winter and am ready to hit the beach! Here, see what I mean?:

Here's the inside:

Yep, it's all good when you're at the beach! LOL! I used my Slice die cut machine, (I think I'm the only person on the planet that still owns and uses her Slice! LOL!), to cut the scalloped square from scrap paper and used the negative for my mask. Then I just ripped edges of more scrap and created the ocean, sand and sky with Distress inks and my blender. My card base is trimmed from ancient DCWV card stock and that was covered with a gold glitter paper panel. I stamped the chair/umbrella multiple times onto more scraps of card stock, fussy cut and glued all the bits together. Even went over the image with markers to add some shading/shadows. Me likey! After I glued that to the main panel, I added some Diamond Stickles to the ocean for some additional sparkle. (Who doesn't love sparkly cards? Really!) Once dry, it was adhered with foam squares to the card base. Another die cut scalloped square, and the stamped sentiment finishes the inside.

So, are you ready to get you craft on and make something outdoors-y? If you do, be sure to link up your creation to the Shopping Our Stash blog so we can see it! Now, before you get to work, don't forget to check out what my teammates made for even more inspiration!

Thanks for hanging out with me! Wishing you a productive, crafty day!

Chris

  7. Oooo, I absolutely adore your little beach scene, Chris! I was lucky enough to just be at the beach, but I tell ya what...it was cooooold there. No lounging on beach chairs this month. I LOVE the masked sea/sand/sky background you made inside the negative die cut opening. And the paper pieced umbrella is fabulous, too. Love it!
