What's one more...?/SSSC#178

Good Morning and happy Wednesday to you! I'd like to share a card that I made using the sketch from the Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge #178:

Here's the inside:

and the sketch:

So I stuck with the sketch for the most part, but added a bit more bling to it with the twine and rhinestones. (to make it more festive, since Stella is having another birthday. She's really thrilled about it. Can't you tell? LOL!) After stamping, embossing and coloring her, I cut her out using some Nesties and popped her up on some foam squares. I even embossed the sentiment. (I wanted to make sure it stood out from the patterned paper I stamped it on). Pretty sweet and simple and oh so fun to make!

Thanks for stopping by and I hope that you have a great day!

Some Days.../Drunken Stampers #116

Good Morning to you all! This is my off week designing for the Drunken Stampers, but still wanted to play along with the new challenge #116: The Avengers (Superheroes). This term is all about movies. You can make a card based on the movie title or the sub title, or BOTH! Since I don't have any stamps related to any characters in the movie, I went with the Superhero theme:

and the inside:

I'm sure we've all had one of those days when you just KNOW you're gonna need your Wonder Woman Undies! LOL! (For me that's practically every day! Good thing I have multiple pairs! HA!)

This card is mostly all card stock, except for the blue designer paper. Got out my Stars embossing folder for this and used it on the red panel. When I was making this card, I thought the yellow card stock looked kinda golden. Now looking at it, it looks mustard. Oh well. I tied on some yellow (gold?) twine to mimic her lasso. I'm still trying to figure out how to color hair. I look at other card makers with Copic certification and that helps. I think I may have to break down and take Copic coloring classes and invest in those markers. I'm sure my husband won't mind. He lets me buy all the card making supplies I can hide! LOL!

That's all I have for now. Thanks for stopping by and I hope you can play along with the Drunken Stampers challenge #116 - The Avengers!

Enjoy this day/PSSparks/RS#51

Hi all and happy Thursday to you! I want to share a card I made for two challenges: Paper Smooches Sparks - Cool Shades challenge and Retro Sketches #51:

and the inside:

Here are the challenges: a color theme and a sketch:

I literally had so many ideas for this sketch. I kept picking out a stamp set, then I'd see another one and have a better idea, discard the first one, see another one, etc... I swear it is AGONIZING just trying to get started on a card! I can't make up my mind! Anyone else have this problem?!

I got to play with my new Paper Smooches dies! EEK! So happy that Kim is making dies to go along with her adorable stamps! (Doing the Happy Dance!) I cut the Duo Dies 1 twice: in the aqua dots and in a scrap of chocolate card stock that I embossed months ago and held on to. (Cuz ya never know when ya may need it!) And it turns out I used it today! I even used the negative aqua dots die cut for the inside. Sweet!  I die cut the Butterflies 2 dies and stamped them. (using a cherry colored marker, thus the funky lines on the larger butterfly. That's ok, I like the wonky look it gave.) Glued those down then added rhinestones, along with the rhinestones along the side. Stamped the sentiment, added some twine, and done!  I love a great sketch, even better when you can combine it with a specific color combo! I am stoked about how good this turned out! Yay!

If you haven't tried your hand at either of these challenges, I highly suggest you do. They are so much fun! Thanks for stopping by and I hope that you have a fantastic day!

Another Birthday card/MM#281

Hey all and good morning! I have a card to share that I made using the Mojo Monday #281 sketch:

the inside:

and the sketch:

I'm going to get this in the mail today so this will hopefully be a quick post. A friend of a friend of a friend has a boy with Autism and doesn't get much mail sent to him. (which he loves to get) The request went out to send him a card for his birthday, which is coming up at the end of the week. I was all over this! This card is pretty much CAS. I made the focus more about the patterns and colors than the stamping. A bright happy card for a little boy!

That's all I have for now. Got to get this in the mail and get in a walk with my fur baby before the nasty weather hits! Have a great day and thanks for stopping by!

Happy Birthday/FMS#73

Good morning and Happy Presidents Day! If you are looking for my Drunken Stampers post, you can click here. Today my hubby has the day off so we will probably do what we usually do when he has a day off: him read a book or play his X-box, and me up in my craft room making a card, occasionally switching out the laundry loads! LOL! Yep, that's right. We know how to par-tay! Hahaha! Speaking of partying, I have a Birthday card to share with you, using the Freshly Made Sketch challenge #73:

the inside:

and the sketch:
I have a friend who has a birthday coming up, and it happens to fall on St. Patrick's Day, thus the leprechaun! I picked paper that had a sunburst pattern on it (bonus!) I stamped, colored, and fussy cut the little guy and the mug of beer. The stamp has him holding a clover, but I cut that out carefully with an X-acto knife, separated the fingers and put the beer mug in his fingers. (hee hee!) He's popped up on foam squares. Love how this came out!

Thanks for stopping by and I hope that you have a magical day also!

Cheers/CTS#15

Good morning and happy Sunday to you all! I'd like to share with you a card I made for the CAS(e) this Sketch challenge #15:

Here is the inside:

And the sketch:

So, I made a manly card! I'll be sending this to one of my nephews who has a birthday coming up. (Yes, he's over 21!) Like most young men in their early 20's, it's all about partying and having a good time, thus the mug of beer! The little polka dot panel is from a new die by Paper Smooches (Duo Dies 1) I used the center die cut for this card. After adhering, I stamped Cheers and the stitches. The beer mug is adhered with foam squares, after coloring and fussy cutting it. Another great CAS(E) sketch! Yay!

That's all I have for now. I hope you have a fabulous day and thanks for stopping by!

Drunken Stampers #115 - Miss Congeniality

Good Morning and happy Saturday! It's time to play along with the Drunken Stampers! Today is challenge #115: Miss Congeniality (Princesses/pageants). This term is all about movies. You can either make a card based on the movie 'Miss Congeniality', or the princesses/pageant theme, or BOTH! My team, the Midnight Margaritas, is up this week:

For my card, I went with the Princess theme:

Here is the inside of my card:

I llluuurrrvvv me a great punch line! LOL! What could be better than a sweet, innocent little girl, holding a crown in her hand, thinking about being a princess...then out comes a swear word! (My apologies, I just couldn't resist! Hey, this IS the Drunken Stampers!)

I got on the band wagon and tried the chalkboard technique on my main panel. After embossing the image in white, I took a cotton ball and rubbed white chalk ink over the panel. Added lines with a white Prismacolor pencil, and finished with some red rhinestones. The original image has her holding a heart, but I die cut a crown from some gold glitter card stock and also black card stock to outline it. I adhered the crown to cover the heart, then added more rhinestones to it. I used my computer to type and print out my sentiment. I cut the words up, inked the edges, and adhered with foam squares.

I hope you can join the fun and play along with the Drunken Stampers #115 Miss Congeniality challenge! Don't forget to check out what my teammates dreamed up! Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!

I dig you...

Good morning and happy Wednesday! I'd like to share a card I made as my take on the Paper Smooches blog challenge, using hearts:

Here is the inside:

I made my own background paper again, using stamps from a few different PS stamps sets. The majority are from Woofers & Tweeters, the zig-zag is from Cyber Cafe, and the tiny double hearts are from Needle Little Love. I like how the zig-zag sort of looks like a heart beat! Too cool! I drew very light lines on my white panel to use as a guide for my stamping. Once the ink dried, I just erased the lines. I stamped, colored and fussy cut the doggie and adhered him on with some foam squares. Easy peasy!

Thanks for stopping by and I hope that you have a great day!

Hello/CTD#228/SSS#177

Hi everyone! I have a card to share today (well, I have two, but I was a dope and missed the deadline on the second card. DOH!) Anyway, here is my take on the Sweet Sunday Sketch #177, using the colors from the Color Throwdown #228:

The inside:

Here are the challenges:

I love the design of this card, and the colors, and my idea about using a jumbo stamp, but I don't like my coloring. At all. I made the mistake of coloring all the petals with the pale pink (which looks more like vanilla), and once I went over that with the light pink, it totally changed the color. Bleah! I should have just colored the tips. Oh, well, you live and learn. I stamped this jumbo zinnia twice so I could fussy cut the center, adhere with foam squares, and use it as the scalloped shape in the sketch. I will definitely try this again, just maybe in other colors.

So, onto my other card. This was made for Moxie Fab World's Tuesday Trigger, but for some reason I thought I had till tonight to enter. (smacking myself on forehead)

Here is the inspiration picture:

Yep, that's right. This chick can cross stitch. I used a stamp as my pattern for the cross stitching. (How cool is that?!) It's pretty self explanatory. White card stock base, strip of wood grain embossed blue card stock that I distressed the edges. (like the chair is distressed) I even have two flowers that I die cut from felt.

Well, that's all I have for now. Thanks for hanging on till the end of this long post! I hope you have a fabulous day!

Drunken Stampers #114 - Finding Nemo

Hi all! I made another card! Even though it's not my week to post, I'm playing along with the Drunken Stampers #114 - Finding Nemo challenge. This term is based on movies, this week being Finding Nemo. You can make a card related to the movie, or one using fish/sea creatures, or both!! Here's my take:

The inside:

The challenge!

No patterned paper? WHA???? That's right, it's all about the card stock today baby! I used mostly scrap for this card (Yay! My scrap pile diminishes!) Used a Fiskars punch to make 'waves'. I stamped the fishes on white card stock, colored, fussy cut and adhered. Stamped 'hey Gill-friend. Oh, and that black decorative strip? That's the negative from the mini monarch border Die-Namic. (Use those negatives!)

That's all I have tonight. I'm gonna sit back, relax, sip my glass of wine, and watch some 007! Bond. James Bond! Have some fun and join the Drunken Stampers challenge! Have a great night!

Explosive News! CTS14

Good Morning and happy Saturday to you! I have a card to share with you that I made for the CAS(E) this Sketch challenge #14:

Here is the sketch:

I've been wanting to color this mad scientist as a REALLY BAD mad scientist for a while now. I was just waiting for the perfect sketch to present itself! I embossed, colored, and fussy cut him, along with the beaker and poof. I drew the star burst on scrap paper and cut out. Then using it as a template, outlined it onto the yellow card stock and cut out. I used some Prismacolor pencils to add some subtle color to the tips of the "explosion". I also took a red marker around the edge of it.  I sprayed some Glimmer Mist on the top of the card, stamped explosive news and adhered everything down. I. LOVE. THIS. CARD! It came out so much better than I hoped! Is there such a thing as 'Card Nirvana'? LOL!

Ok, I'm done patting myself on my back! (hee hee) I hope you get to play along too at Case this Sketch! Have a great day!

A cup of thanks...

Happy Friday! I have a card I want to share with you all. I made this with two challenges in mind: Retro Sketches #49, and Paper Smooches Sparks: Trend Watch challenge - Polka dots.

and the inside:

Here are the two challenges:

Instead of hearts I used this cute coffee mug, but only stamped and fussy cut 3 of them to fit my A2 sized card. All papers that I used have polka dots on it. For the kraft card base, I stamped the coffee ring as a sort of artsy polka dot. (I stamped it on scrap paper first because I wanted a lighter image.) After I adhered the blue paper down, I still thought the kraft needed something more. So I stamped the coffee beans randomly just as I did the ring. (more artsy polka dots!) Finished off the inside with a couple strips of the same paper on the front, added the sentiment, and done!

So, any plans this weekend? I think I want to see that new flick "Safe Haven". (If it's out...I think it is.) Looks like a good chick flick! I hope the hubby will go. We usually see all the action or sci-fi movies. I'm not complaining, I'm a major geek and love those types of movies. But still, it's nice to see something different from time to time. I hope that you have a great weekend, whatever you decide! Thanks for stopping by!

CAS-ual Fridays #88

Hello and happy Thursday! This post is going to be quick as I have under an hour to get this card entered for CAS-ual Fridays CFC88.

The inside:

For this challenge, you are prompted to make a card using letters, be that stamps, die cuts, stickers, etc. I made a really easy CAS card using chipboard stickers (MOM) and also stamps (for you, Happy Birthday). I stamped the lace first, then added a strip of paper, covered that with a little ribbon, added the stickers and stamped for you. On the inside, I stamped the lace again and Happy Birthday. I finished the card by rounding one corner. Super easy!

Thanks for stopping by! Have a great day!

Stamps: Unity Stamp Co. December 2012 KOM (lace); Paper Smooches Birthday Sampler set

Happy Birdday...

Hello my peeps! If you are looking for my Drunken Stampers post, please keep scrolling down.

Hey guess what? I hear that there is supposed to be some sort of game played at the Beyonce' concert tonight! Sweet! LOL! So is everyone ready for some football? Me, being from Baltimore, I am all decked out in my Ravens gear! This should be a good game. (But what I really watch the Super Bowl for is the commercials!)

So anyway, I was up in my craft cave last night working on this card. And as usual, I'm entering a challenge at the last minute. This is for the current Paper Smooches Sparks challenge: picture perfect.

And the inside:

Here is the inspiration photo:

I pretty much drew off of everything in the picture: the colors, the pattern on the headboard, that bird sculpture, even the wooden table. In my mind's eye, the wood grain patterned ribbon represents a dock, which the posts are attached to, and the seagull is perching on. I did some masking with the 'Happy Birthday' stamp, and made it say 'Happy Birdday'. (hee hee!) I thought my card needed something more, so I stamped and fussy cut a balloon, added twine, and made it look like the bird was holding it in it's beak! Love it!

Thanks for stopping by! I hope you have a great rest of the day, and if you are in any football pools, here's hoping you win some money!! LOL!

Chris ☺

Drunken Stampers #113

Good Morning and happy Saturday! It's time to have some fun with the DRUNKEN STAMPERS CHALLENGE BLOG, which I am proud to be a Designated Designer for! I am so stinkin' excited about this! (Doing the Happy Dance!!) A new challenge is posted every Saturday. This term is focused on movies and it can be an 'either or both' kind of challenge: you can EITHER use the movie title given OR the suggested theme/item. You can also get all crazy like and use BOTH! The DD's are divided into two groups: The Midnight Margaritas (my team!) and the Bahama Mamas. (LOL! I know, right?!) The teams alternate each week to showcase the new challenge.

Here is the challenge that the The Midnight Margaritas team are playing with this week: Groundhog Day (fitting for this month!) and/or a card with a furry creature on it!

So I plowed through all of my stamps, trying to find the perfect critter. Because this is a big deal! My first official post as a DD! Sweating bullets as set after set is thrown to the side, rejected. Sweating more bullets. Starting to hyperventilate. But then, I came across this little guy. (Insert a choir of angels singing here)

Here's the inside:

I was saved! Shew! (Calm, deep breaths. Ok. I'm good.) I embossed him on water color paper, colored, fussy cut, and adhered him to some stacked die cut ovals with foam squares. I even used the die as a stencil and sponged some moss green ink to the inside of the white oval. (something new that I tried!) Stamped Got Cake, fussy cut, matted onto the teal card stock and adhered that as well with the foam squares. Added some rhinestones and done! Easy Peasy!

Now it's YOUR turn! Please come and play with us on the Drunken Stampers challenge blog! Many great times will be had with these fabulous challenges! Be sure to check out my other partners in crime, I mean, my fellow bodacious design team members also!

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you all have a fabulous day!
