SHOPPING OUR STASH #401 - Base it off a Book

Hello crafty friends and welcome!
We have a fun new challenge at
SHOPPING OUR STASH this fortnight:
Base it off a Book!
For my card, I chose The Wonderful Wizard of Oz
by L. Frank Baum:

and the inside:

I love it when the designer paper you pick does all the work for you!
All I did was some fussy cutting, and then added red glitter embossing powder to
Dorothy's shoes. They really do sparkle in real life. ☺

I always loved this book, and the friendship between the four main characters,
so I stamped the simple message for the inside sentiment.

Now it's your turn! We hope that you find some time to play along
in our Based off a Book challenge at Shopping Our Stash! Looking for
more ideas? Simply check out what my teammates created for
your viewing pleasure. Thanks for visiting. Have a great day!

SISTERHOOD OF SNARKY STAMPERS #140 - S is for Sea

(Shout out to Sister Lee for her astonishing graphic arts skillz!)

Hello and happy Saturday to you.
It's time for the new challenge at the
This fortnight is brought to you by the
letter S, as in SEA!
We want to see your ocean themed projects.
This is a card I made for one of my sisters a couple months
ago, but it fit this challenge so perfectly that I saved
posting about it until now. LOL!

and the inside:

I bought the fish scale plate and the mermaid stamp earlier this year, and
this was the first time using them. I started by creating my underwater
background using Dylusions spray inks on watercolor paper, then adding
some Aquamarine Glimmer Mist over that for additional sparkle.
While that dried, I colored and fussy cut my mermaid, and die cut the fish
scale plate. I added some Diamond Stickles to the centers of the flowers
in her hair, and added Wink of Stella to her bottom half.
This card is sooooo shimmery IRL!! I cut up a group of rhinestones
and added them because to me they looked like air bubbles.
A simple sentiment on the inside finishes my card.

I hope that you find some time to play along in our Sea challenge
at the Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers! We'd love to sea what you
come up with. My Sisters and our reigning Queen Rina have created some fabulous underwater
masterpieces, so please visit their blogs to check them out.
Thanks for stopping by. Have a fabulous day!

SHOPPING OUR STASH #400!! - Christmas In July

Hello and happy Tuesday to you!
It's time for a new challenge at
We are celebrating our 400th challenge!
Woo Hoo!
And how are we celebrating? By having a
Christmas in July challenge. HA!!
Also, since we are in a festive mood, some of the design team
will be offering blog candy on their own blogs to a lucky commenter, myself included.
My offering is a brand new 24pc set of Derwent
 Inktense Blocks!
(I ordered a set last year, was sent two sets but only charged for one.
Their mishap is your possible gain!)

So onto my card. I shopped my hoarded Christmas stash and finally used
the last ornament stickers from a package. Yay!

and the inside:

I used traditional colors paired with an old world look for this one.
But then, I decided to make another card:

and the inside:

For this one, I decided on some fun, non-traditional colors, and used
a gift builder die as my focal image. I gave the ribbon a liberal coating of
my Wink of Stella pen, but of course, with my crack photography skillz,
you can't see it at all. LOL!

We hope that you'll help us celebrate our 400th challenge at
Shopping Our Stash and play along. For a chance at my prize offering,
simply click over on the right to follow my blog, (if you aren't already
following), and leave me a comment! The winner will be randomly chosen from

SISTERHOOD OF SNARKY STAMPERS #139 - J is for Joke

Good morning snarky peeps!
It's time for a new challenge at the
This fortnight is brought to you by the letter J,
as in JOKE!
Here's what I've come up with:

If I were completely out of my mind, I would have tried to stamp
the knight on actual tin foil and do some paper piecing, but I'm not that far gone...yet.

The background was made by first stamping the sentiment. Using a brick
embossing folder, I randomly smeared Vintage Photo DI on the inside, spritzed
with a bit of water and ran the panel through my Grand Calibur.
I tried to flatten the embossing over the stamped sentiment because it was
a bit hard to read otherwise. (Darice needs to come up with
embossing frames to use when you stamp in the corners, just sayin.)
I was going for an old castle wall look. (think Errol Flynn
as Robin Hood. That kind of old castle look. LOL!)

Ok, so now it's your turn to make us laugh with your jokes! Just link up
at the Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers so we can see your projects!
Need to see more? Simply visit the blogs of my Sisters, and our
reigning Queen Helen to see their hilarious takes.
Thanks for popping by!

Warm Winter Wishes

Hello and happy(?) Monday, crafty peeps!
I got into the Christmas (in July) spirit this weekend and
cranked out several cards to add to my severely depleted stash.
Here's one of them:

and the inside:

The stamps are from the same set by Bo Bunny (2013). All the papers are
at least 5 years old. (Shopping my stash for this one!) I used these super
cute teapot and mug dies from Paper Smooches as my warm beverages.
I forgot I had these. It's amazing what one finds when one actually looks
at what she has accrued over the years. (*cough*)

Thanks for visiting. Have a great day!

Always pick naughty

Hello and happy Sunday to you!
I've been getting back to making cards again after a couple busy
months. (working ahead for my DT duties, beach vacation, making
70 wedding shower invites for my soon to be niece, a suprise
trip to Illinois to visit family and friends) Plus something
else in the works that I'll blog about soon....!!

I was able to combine several challenges to make this cute Christmas card:

and the inside:

I bought this stamp set when Unity had a big sale around the end of last year/beginning of
this year. (along with other stamps. *cough*) I thought this Santa image
was adorable, plus the snarky sentiment spoke to me. LOL!
After I colored him, I added DecoArt glistening Snow-Tex to his hat and trim around
his belly. I also added some Diamond Stickles to the bell on his hat as well as the
snowflake stickers.

Lots of shparkle!!

That's one more Christmas card done! Woo hoo!
Well, time to go do some housework.
Just kidding, I'm going to my craft room.

Thanks for visiting, have a great day!

Aloha!

Hello and happy Fri-Yay!

I hope you all enjoyed your Independence Day to those who were
celebrating yesterday. We had storms roll through, but they held off
just long enough for our community to enjoy the fireworks display.

While it rained earlier, I decided to have some fun in the craft room,
and created a card:

This came together rather quickly for me. A rarity! LOL!
I used snippets from a paper collection, triple cut and stacked the aloha
sentiment, and even found a hibiscus image that I colored up last year!
The letters received a generous dose of my Wink of Stella pen.
 (Ooohh! Shimmery!)

That's it for now. I'm off to enjoy the day.
Thanks for visiting!

SHOPPING OUR STASH #399 - The Infamous One Layer Card - GAH!!

Hello and welcome crafty peeps!
This fortnight at
we want to see your One Layer Cards!
Yep, these are not my strength, but I persevered:

I bought this fairy image at least a year ago, but this is the first time
inking her up. I stamped her with Versamark ink then heat embossed
her with clear EP. Then I sponged various inks around her. I finished
with a stamped sentiment that I thought fit perfectly with the fairy
image then doodled around the edges.

(Ooh! Shiny embossing!)

I hope that you get a chance to play along with our OLC challenge
at Shopping Our Stash! We can't wait to see what you come up with!
Thanks for visiting!
