Travelling via balloons!

 Hello and welcome crafty friends!
Can you believe that it's the last week of July?
This year is just whooshing by!

Yesterday, I had some play time in the craft cave, and
created this fun card:

I loved the stenciled cloud element on Jacquie's card,
(such a brilliant idea! Thank you for the inspiration!), so I had
to try it for myself. 😊 I broke out my homemade cloud stencil
again, and stenciled onto the card front. For some added interest,
I die cut and glued the square frame die to the card base.
I stamped the sentiment then after coloring and die cutting the fox
and balloons, glued them onto my card.
Another sentiment finishes the inside.

What a fun sketch to create this cute little scene. 😁
That's it for now. I hope that you enjoy the rest of your day.

I'm guest designing at 52 Christmas Card Throwdown!

Hello and welcome crafty friends!
I was thrilled to be chosen as the July sketch winner at 52 Christmas Card Throwdown,
and was invited to be the guest designer for this week's Stash Challenge,
which is to use vellum on a window card.
Here's what I came up with:

and the inside:

I started by die cutting the layered snowflake frame from white card stock
and vellum. Using a bit of inky looking DP, I white embossed
Santa in flight, then die cut the winter landscape from white glitter
paper. Once everything was glued together, I white embossed
the sentiment onto matching blue card stock and adhered.

Thanks again for the honor of guest designing at 52 Christmas Card Throwdown!
I can't wait to see how you interpret this challenge!

Thanks for visiting, and I hope that you have a great day!

Hello and happy Tuesday to you!
It's time again for the new challenge at
SHOPPING OUR STASH to start, and this
fortnight it's Christmas in July!
(Of course, if you don't happen to celebrate that particular
holiday, we also welcome any
other holiday that's celebrated in December!)

Here's what I came up with:

projects at Shopping Our Stash. We'd love to see them!

It's Your Day!

 Hello and welcome crafty peeps!
I hope those of you who celebrated the 4th of July had
a fun filled day!

I have a card to share in which I tried out possibly not
quite new techniques, but they were to me. 😁

The first experiment was that gorgeous image. Towards the end of last year,
I scored a free used laser printer that a friend of my MIL's was trying to get rid of.
Right time, right place! Then it sat on my dining room table for a few months
before I rearranged my craft room a bit and also finally found a small table
that I liked that would fit the space. That was in January. Last weekend, I
finally got around to hooking it up and testing it out. (and now you know
why it takes me hours if not days to make a card. LOL!)
I printed out this mermaid as my test, and colored her
with Spectrum Noir markers and Prismacolor pencils.
O.M.G! Laser printer = GAME CHANGER!!!
No more blasting the image with my heat gun then giving
it a light coating with hairspray. (my old printer is an inkjet)
And no smearing at all!!!! I have so many digi images that I've
either bought, won, or were freebies, and I've not used most of them
because of the smearing I always got with the inkjet printer. No more!

The second experiment was grabbing my neglected gel plate, laying
a white card stock panel on it, and brayering a couple Distress Inks over the panel.
I covered it with wave stencil then brayered
another Distress Ink over it, giving it those muted stripes,
then spritzed water on the panel.

Once that dried, it was time for my third experiment.
I smeared Wild Lilac Glitz glitter gel through the fish stencil,
cleaned off the pallet knife, then went back over everything
with Turquoise Sea Glitz glitter gel. I love how all the fish
have both colors of glitter gel with some more purple and some
more turquoise!

The mermaid received a good coating of both WOS, and Nuvo Glitter
Drops in white blizzard, and once dry she was fussy cut
and adhered on the card with foam squares.
A couple small sentiment stamps finish the inside.

It took me a few days to put this together, because I'd work on it some,
then come back to it the next day. Do a bit more, and come back the
next day, etc. But I love how it turned out!

That's it for now. Thanks for visiting, and I hope you
have a wonderful day!
