Merry and Bright

Hello friends and happy 8-days-til-Christmas to you!

I'm still without a car (since Halloween). My hubby hit a deer on
his way to work that day, and his car has been in the shop since then. He's
been using my car all this time. I only get out on the weekend.
I have gifts to send but I'm not stressing about getting
them out in time for Christmas. I'll send them when I'm able to, and
I'll be extending the holiday for the recipients! LOL!
Going to the post office on Saturday is not happening.
I went there last Saturday just to drop off my pile of cards and
the line to mail packages was practically out the door. Nope. No thanks.
I'll wait to go there on a weekday, not so crazy then.

Ok, enough about that. What I really came here for is to show
you a card I've made, and it happens to fit a few challenges. Bonus!

and the inside:

These adorable ornaments were colored with my Spectrum Noir markers,
then heavily hit with both diamond Stickles and a Wink of Stella pen.
I've tried to get a close up of all the shimmer and sparkle:

It's so hard to capture all the shimmer on the ornaments in a photo.
These twinkle soooo much in real life!

And now I have a head start on my Christmas cards for next year!
That's all for now. I hope that you have a great day!

For my card, this time I've only used the Theme:

I love these Typographia stamps. They do all the work for you. LOL!

I doodled around the edge of the patterned paper and the word 'meadow' with a silver

SHOPPING OUR STASH #383 - Happy Birthday Dude!

 Hello and welcome crafty friends!
Donna is your hostess this week at
SHOPPING OUR STASH and she's thrown a curve ball right
in the midst of the Christmas-card-making-frenzy.
This week we want to see your birthday cards for the men in your lives!

Here's what I came up with:

here's the inside:

I did have help with my design, as I cased this card while perusing
Pinterest for ideas. (Not sure who made it as the link takes me
to a web store that sells the stamps, not the artist, so thank you
whomever you are!) I've had these tree stamps for at least a couple years, and
I think this may only be the second time using them. Glad I rediscovered
them while searching for something else, because I want to make a
bunch more cards like this now. LOL!

So now it's your turn. Put a brief hold on those holiday cards and
create a birthday card for a guy! Be sure to link up at
Shopping Our Stash so we may admire it! For more fabulous
male-themed cards, please do visit my teammies to see what
they've come up with.
Thanks for stopping by. Have a great day!

SISTERHOOD OF SNARKY STAMPERS #124 W is for Winter

Hello and happy Saturday crafty peeps!
Today starts the new challenge at the
We want to see your Winter themed projects this time around.

Here's the card I made:

I had a lot of fun with this card. After stamping that little miss and her kitty, I stamped both again on masking paper, fussy cut and covered the images. I die cut a landscape border and used it as a mask
to sponge my sky, then masked off and sponged the ice. Removed the masks and colored the images using my SN markers. I went over the trees and hill with some snow-tex, and also dotted the sky
to add some falling snow. IRL this stuff is pretty glittery, but with my crack photography
skillz, you can't really see that. LOL!

I hope you find some time to join us in our Winter challenge this fortnight
at the Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers! In need of some more ideas? Simply
visit the blogs of my Sistahs, and our returning Queen and GD, Donna Mundinger,
for their takes on the challenge.
Thanks for visiting, and I hope to see your fabulous creations in the gallery!

SHOPPING OUR STASH #382 - Washi Washi Washi!

Welcome back crafty friends!
This week's challenge at
SHOPPING OUR STASH is a fun one:
Use Washi tape on your project!

I have a couple dozen tapes that I very rarely use, so
this was the perfect challenge for me to use some of them.
Here's my card:

and the inside:

I simply made rows of a bunch of colorful tapes, then die cut
the tree. I added some gold glitter paper behind the cut out for a
bit of glitz, and finished off with a die cut sentiment.

Since I had the tree die cut, I made another card:

and the inside:

That green paper behind the tree is some ancient paper I've been hoarding. It is
glossy and has the feel of vinyl rather than paper. Very fun and funky!

Now's your turn to break out those neglected Washi tapes and have some fun
using them! Be sure to link up at Shopping Our Stash so that we can admire it!
If you're in need of more inspiration, do check out what my fabulous teammies
have created using Washi tape!

Yum....cake!

Hello and happy Saturday to you!
I'm just popping in with a card I made for a few challenges.

Lots of stash shopping went into this card.
The sentiment is from an American Crafts set dated back in 2008;
the cake is from an MFT set dated 2010! There are a lot of metallic touches on this card:
the gold embossed sentiment, gold floss on the die cut tag, gold sequins. I even edged
the tag, white die cut circle and edge of the DP in gold ink! The cake was colored
with Spectrum Noir markers then I went over the icing with a WOS pen.
You can see the shimmer a bit more in this pic:

Guess it's time for me to get a move on and start putting up some Christmas decorations.
There should be an icy/rain mix arriving soon to our neck of the woods, so
indoors I shall stay. LOL!

Thanks for stopping by. Have a great day!

Holiday bells

Hi there and welcome friends!

I hope that all who celebrated Thanksgiving yesterday had
a wonderful day, filled with family, friends, and food!

I'm popping in with a card I've made for the
Time Out Challenge #123. We are prompted to use
black, white, and one other color.

I've gone with gold for my choice:

here's the inside:

I die cut that fabulous Doodled Christmas Bells cover plate in black card stock,
and filled in the bell with gold glitter paper, using the cuts from this card
(I couldn't let those pieces go to waste!) That's adhered to a white card base, then
I finished the front off with a simple sentiment that was gold embossed
onto a strip of black card.

That's all for now. I never brave the Black Friday crazies out on the roads, so
I'll just have to make more Christmas cards. (wink)
Thanks for visiting, and I hope you have a great day!

Hello and welcome back my friends!
This week I'm hosting at SHOPPING OUR STASH,
and I've picked another crazy challenge for you. LOL!
This week, we want you to make something that was
inspired by a food or beverage label!

For my card, I was inspired by the Harvester wine label:

and the inside:

I used two stamps from the same set, and with the help of
some masking, created my flowery panel.
I gotta say, this was so much fun to make!

at Shopping Our Stash so we can admire them! For more ideas,
simply visit the blogs of my teammates to see how they
