JUST US GIRLS #340 Photo Week

Good morning and happy Saturday to you! Bobby is your hostess for Photo Week at JUST US GIRLS, and she's picked this fun image for you to be inspired by! For me the colors, the drink glass, flowers and the oranges inspired me to create this card:

 here's the inside:

I die cut a square out of white card stock and spritzed it with some aquamarine Glimmer Mist. While that was drying, I stamped, colored and fussy cut the pink drink. I searched my stash of flowers and brads and added them and the drink to my panel. I wasn't getting the coverage I wanted with the black ink for the cheers sentiment, (even with using my MISTI - stamping onto textured card stock will do that), so I stamped it again in versamark and heat embossed it in black. Much better!  Inside is finished with another sentiment.

You may be able to see some of the shimmer on the panel in this pic:

I hope that you find some time this week to play along with our photo challenge at Just Us Girls!  We'd love to see how you interpret this picture. Be sure to check out what my teammates and our Guest Designer, Angie Cimbalo, have come up with to inspire you, and leave them some bloggy love! Thanks for visiting, enjoy your day!

SHOPPING OUR STASH #248 Chip Off The Old Block

Hello friends and welcome! It's time for a new challenge at SHOPPING OUR STASH! This week, we want you to break out those chipboard bits and pieces you've been hoarding and use them on your card or project. I've had this box of chippies for I don't know how many years, and I think I've only used one or two so far. Yay me for using another piece for my card:

 and the inside:

I built my card around that pretty chipboard ring, pulling colors to use from the design on it. I think this is the first time I've used that postage stamp die, even though I've had it for over a year. (Yes. I know. Hoarder. Guilty) I thought a delicate butterfly would look cute resting on the ring, so I die cut it twice from lighter and darker pink card stock and glued them on top of each other. A couple sentiments finish off my card.

I hope that you get a chance to play along with our chipboard challenge at Shopping Our Stash! We'd love to see what you made. While there, why not check out what the design team have created for your viewing pleasure and leave them some bloggy love?! Thanks for visiting and I hope you have a great day!

JUST US GIRLS #339 Color Week

Good morning and welcome friends! Judy is your hostess for Color Week at JUST US GIRLS! She's picked some very soft, pretty colors for you to design with: Lavender, Peach, and Ivory. As always, please use only these three colors plus any neutrals. (black, white, kraft, brown, gray) Sneaking in any additional colors will keep you from being chosen as Chic of the Week (You know who you are! LOL!) Onto my cards. Yes, plural. I made three cards!

I made three identical cards using one die and paper piecing the bits and pieces. I searched my stash of flowers and found some that were ivory with a newsprint design on them. One of them had bright green stamen in the center, so I cut them off and glued a couple smaller peach flowers and a rhinestone in the center.

The inside is stamped the same for all cards.

I hope you get a chance to play along for Color Week at Just Us Girls! We can't wait to see what you create for this challenge! Remember, that if you are picked as Chic of the Week for any of our April challenges, you'll be in the running to be our Guest Designer for the month of June! Good luck and happy crafting!

JUST US GIRLS #338 - Trend Week

Hello crafty friends. I'm home and in between flights back to Illinois, so I wanted to have some fun in my craft room (a.k.a. therapy!)  I'm popping in real quick with a card I made for this week's smooshing challenge at JUST US GIRLS! Here's my card:

Here's the inside:

I used four Distress Inks on my water color paper panel and had a lot of fun shooshing the colors. I took my heat gun to it to speed up the drying time. Using my MISTI, I stamped the sentiment a few times in black ink to get a dark impression, but it was still not working (because of the water color paper texture). So I stamped it again in VersaMark ink and heat embossed it with black embossing powder. Worked much better! I added that over a scalloped frame then added some silver sequins.

I'm late to the party, but you still have another day before this challenge ends! I hope you find some time to play along at Just Us Girls! While there, please check out what my teammates, and our new Guest Designer, Angie Cimbalo, have created! Thanks for visiting, and I hope you have a great day!

SHOPPING OUR STASH #247 - You Stamped With What!?

Hello crafty friends and welcome! We have a fun challenge at SHOPPING OUR STASH for you to try out this week: use something other than stamps to stamp with! It may sound hard, but it's really not, and fun to boot! Here's the card I created:

 and the inside:

A feather? Yep. I started with an 8-1/2" x 11" sheet of white cardstock. I picked 3 colors of Distress Ink and one at a time, smooshed the ink on my craft mat. I gently tapped a feather into the ink, then stamped it on the card stock, rolling over it a few times with my brayer to transfer the design. I love that it kind of looks like evergreen boughs! I stamped the cardinal onto water color paper, and using more Distress inks and a water brush, colored the image. It was then fussy cut and popped up on foam squares to my card.

I hope that you find some time to play along with our alternative stamping challenge at Shopping Our Stash! I can't wait to see what you all come up with to use! If you need some more inspiration, please check out what my teammates dreamed up to use as stamps! So clever!! Thanks for visiting!

Absent for a reason

Hi crafty peeps. You may have noticed that I've been absent the last couple of weeks. Just wanted to pop in to say that I've taken a short sabbatical from my DT duties, and crafting in general. Sometimes life gets in the way, and there are some personal issues that I am dealing with. Even with my crazy life, I really hope to join in from time to time when I can. My teammates on the three teams I design for refused to let me resign, which I am so grateful for, and when I'm able to, I will join in. So, I wish you all well, and as always, keep crafting. ☺
